How does your game interpret and use the theme?
Our game, Lost Forest, takes the theme "The Long Way Home" literally and mechanically. The player, exhausted and driving home late at night, crashes their car in the middle of a foggy forest. From that point on, the entire game is the journey back on foot, with no map, no phone signal, and no clear path.

COOL, THIS ONE IS CREEPY IN THE BEST WAY! 🌲🌫️👀

I really like how the game makes the journey home feel genuinely lost and uncertain. Using sound as the main way to navigate through the forest is such a clever idea, and the dog barking creates a really effective sense of tension without needing constant enemies or action. The dark atmosphere, 3D environment, silence, and environmental details work together really well, and that creepy hidden character is a fun little touch. 😨

For improvement, I think the sound navigation could be made a little clearer, especially when the player needs to change direction. A stronger audio cue or subtle visual feedback could help players understand when they're actually making progress. I also think heavier fog and slightly better visibility balance would make the forest feel even more mysterious while keeping the path readable.

REALLY ATMOSPHERIC AND UNIQUE JAM ENTRY! 🌲🔥🌫️ The combination of exploration, sound-based navigation, and horror atmosphere makes this stand out. Great work, especially with the 120 hours of development, and good luck with the jam! 🎮✨

Curious concept combining visual and audio feedback to guide through a forest, it's certainly unique. I would have like it being explored a bit more, you kinda do the same thing the whole way through. It's however visually very solid, and I echo that previous feedback that some fog would have added a lot to the game. Good work!

This was interesting.

I don’t know if it is my hardware or the game, but I couldn’t see anything. It was super dark. Following the dog bark is an interesting concept for sure.

Visually, what I could see looked pretty top notch. Quality 3D visual work for sure.

Just wish I could have progressed forward as I always ended up next to the truck again.

Solid entry!

The atmosphere of this game is great, nice and spooky and the dog barking adds a great bit of uneasiness that pushed you to try to get home.

I had a similar experience to omgbear, the sound was hard to follow but I ended up navigating by the screen fade. I did feel like it was easy to get turned around and go backwards, which is great for the lost in the woods aesthetic but got frustrating after a bit. Maybe the trail can very slowly "close" behind the player, so they still have enough room to end up going backwards but only so far before the darkness fades in?

Only other suggestion would be MORE FOG! I think if you obscure more of the woods and have the screen fade be reskinned to heavy fog, it would help with the feeling of being forced onto one path. Great work, the 3D looks fantastic and I definitely heebed some jeebies.

Very cool idea, but I’m having trouble following the sounds. I go one way and make progress, but then it seems I need to double back? I made some progress by avoiding the fading screen, but eventually ended up back toward the yellow lights and got stuck.

I think I’m missing something. The idea of navigating by sound is very cool.
