Nice work!! Graphics, sound, and gameplay were all great. Reminded me of Pool, it's fun to try and precisely aim and plan your shots! I think levels 2-4 were far too easy but everything else makes up for that. Fun game and hope it places well!

How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Our game's core gameplay mechanic and gameplay loop revolve around the secondary theme of 'Old Gold'. The player collects gold, uses this gold to upgrade their drill weapon, then uses this upgraded drill weapon to collect more gold.

Reminds me of Puzzle Bobble a little bit. As others have said, the first level is the hardest, but the upgrades make it *exponentially* easier. Once I got them all, it was difficult to actually lose. I was just filling the screen with drill bullets bouncing everywhere. :D
Fun game!
Fun game! The first level was ironically the most difficult. After I started unlocking upgrades, the game became overly easy. I wasn't expecting the surprise at the final level. Good job!
Very nice game, I really liked the idea, reminds me a bit of the old 'gold miner' game but improved, I enjoyed it a lot. something I would maybe change is that the bullets that are fired together in a burst won't collide with each other because they can spread randomly thus minimizing the advantage, but other than that it's a very good game.
really neat gameplay idea! I really like the fact that you switched colours and themes as you were going through the levels and the soundtrack and colours suited too. My only gripe is the upgrade screen. It would be nice if it showed you the upgrade and price as you move through the menu and then you just press J to buy as opposed to selecting it, then navigating to the buy button. Otherwise a lovely gem of a game.
This reminds me of a game I used to play where you grappled pieces of gold from the ground. Great job!
As a fan of those upgrade games in the flash era, this really made me feel the nostalgia of progressing and just going through stages. Love the concept of the gameplay and enjoyed the stages. Felt like the round I redid the most was the first one. Also, not sure if it was intended but the turning feels a lot slower on the edges than when it's in the middle. Some of the text kinda feels too big for their container as well. Overall though really fun and had a good time playing through it!
Really cool! The game loop is well defined, the stages are great, the progression is well managed with the store. Looks like there is a bug on audio the the music is started on top of another one simultaneously.
Lovely, really enjoy this type of games. First level ended up being slightly harder than the rest though, but managed to beat all of them nonetheless 😄
