How does your game interpret and use the theme?
We took "The Long Way Home" from something very real in Colombia: the ride home on payday.

You just got paid (300k pesos in three bills, not much, but it's all you have) and now you have to cross the entire city on the MIO, Cali's public bus, to get home. The distance isn't what makes the trip long. It's everything that happens along the way: sudden brakes, a broken AC, a guy on a motorcycle reaching through the window, a quiet pickpocket creeping closer, a greedy candy vendor and a stranger who won't stop talking about UFOs.

Your three bills are your lives, and you can see them in your pocket. Getting home isn't the real challenge. Getting home with your money still in your pocket is.

Good Job! Nice environnemnt and the sound feel good to!

i was always on my gard for a jumpscare don't know whyXD

My only nitpick is that when i lose money i didnt notice because we got no feedback when it happen and what cause it !

But very fun Nice game !

WOAH, THIS IS SUCH A UNIQUE TAKE ON “THE LONG WAY HOME”! 🚌💸🌃

I really like how you turned an ordinary bus ride home into a tense survival journey where your money is basically your lives. The Colombian MIO setting gives the game a lot of personality, and all the little encounters the motorcycle guy, pickpocket, candy vendor, and especially the UFO obsessed stranger 😂 make the ride feel unpredictable. The character designs, night-time atmosphere, audio, and menu presentation also give it a really polished feel.

One thing I’d improve is feedback and variety during the events. A clearer visual/audio cue when a bill is stolen would make those moments feel much more satisfying, and adding a few variations to repeated minigames could keep the later parts of the ride fresh. A little more guidance inside the game for the first-time player would also help.

REALLY CREATIVE AND MEMORABLE JAM ENTRY! 🚌🔥💸 GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨

I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The visuals are nice and the audio matches well. The environment is spot on, and the overall feel of public transit in a city at night comes through well.

There are some nice effects in the menu/title screen, and everything feels very polished.

Great submission!

Who knew there's gonna be a game that makes me thankful to live in a city with a safe and convenient public transport.

First thing- I needed to restart the game after the first time playing. Not because of any technical stuff. Just because I didn't read the instructions. My advice- put those in game instead of the page (this can be also said about my game).

Once I knew how to play them, the minigames were cool. I never got the bike guy, and I stopped getting the "hot" status after the first level, but I didn't know if this was by design or not.

I liked the character models- they had a unique style! Also- always cool to have an intro in a game! What I liked the most (visually) was the menu. Slight camera movement and the animation of the bus driving away is not something huge, but it shows attention to detail.

One more thing- having a little smiley face on an envelope with a lousy amount of money is just the insult-to-injury a crappy boss would do.

Good job, keep it up!

You have an incredibly unique game with fantastic artwork and a great theme! The character designs and visual changes when taking damage are super cool, and using soup as a weapon is absolutely hilarious.

The foundation is strong, though there is room for polish with combat feedback and hitboxes since some deaths can feel a bit unfair. Streamlining the controls to a single attack button and adding on screen UI prompts would make the experience much smoother for players. Bringing in more audio juice for impacts and fixing a few minor layer sorting bugs would really make everything shine. Overall it is a fantastic entry with tons of potential!

If you have some free time we would absolutely love for you to check out and play our game too!

I think the idea is pretty original and the art is cool and there are some fun minigames (I liked the one to give a strong look to the weird guy to protect cash :D) . As a small feedback, I don't know why but some of the minigames didnt trigger or i was not able to try them ( the one of the candy man) and I would have liked a bit more info of what represent the progress bar (the progress until next stop or the end?). Nice game keep the great work!

Really nice game! I might be saying something stupid, but it vaguely reminded me of a FNAF game. Great job! If you have some time, feel free to check out my project too! :)

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

 Art Style / Visuals: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Audio / Sound Design: ⭐⭐⭐

Theme: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was pretty fun. I like that youre basically stuck on this bus trying to make it home while constantly checking if somebody is about to take your money 😭 It gives you a reason to keep looking around instead of just waiting for the ride to finish.

Visually its a solid 4/5 for me. I like the characters and the whole bus setting. I think some stronger visual feedback would help a lot though. When money gets stolen maybe the bill could flash or shake for a second. Even a little hand animation or red effect would make it WAY clearer what just happened.

Gameplay is also a 4. Id probably make the quieter sections a little shorter and add more small random events between the bigger ones. Even simple things like having to check your stop or react to something happening outside could give you more reasons to look forward and make the whole ride feel less repetitive. The UFO guy  part could also have different things to search for instead of basically the same target every time its repetetive.

Audio is around 3/5 for me. It felt a bit empty sometimes. More bus sounds would help a lot. Engine noise. Brakes. People talking quietly. Stuff happening outside. Maybe some subtle music too but honestly even just stronger ambience would already make the game feel much more alive.

Theme is easily 5/5 though. Turning a normal bus ride home into this stressful trip where youre just trying to keep your money is a really fun interpretation.

Good job with this one :) There are already a lot of good ideas here. Mostly Id work on feedback variety and making every part of the ride feel like something could happen.

And if all of you have some free time please check out my game too! Id really appreciate a rating and some feedback from you guys :)

Clever idea! I liked the audio clues, and the theme is spot-on.

I felt the game could be a bit faster paced – either more stuff happening or just fewer transfers. The alien minigame was fun the first few times, but would be neat to have different icons to look for, maybe different UFOs or kinds of aliens.

I liked the creeper in the back making noise and getting slowly closer, but being unable to clear him until he got right behind you. Scary, and good pacing. Maybe a reason to keep looking forward, like not missing your stop, could also help to build some tension.

Hey, played this a few times and I reached home once safely! The concept is really cool, fits the theme perfectly and liked the art for outside of the bus on the main menu. I had a little trouble understanding when my bills were getting snatched during the game. Conceptually it made sense, but i just couldnt figure out when it happened. Also it took me a while to figure out where my bills were, so probably a simple counter would solve that issue without it being too invasive.  I spoke to the alien guy quite a few times, and I chose the alien image every time, so i think a bit of variation in that minigame would make it more interesting later on. The window opening mechanic was a nice touch. For the motorcycle snatching guy - again a bit of visual feedback when the snatching is happening would be nice. Overall its a great idea, a bit more variation in the mechanics and some more visual feedback would make it more interesting :)

Buen trabajo.

First off, the main menu is amazing. I love that kind of approach!

Interesting spin on the FNAF formula, we had a similar idea haha Yours is a lot cleaner though, and a lot more polished. Great job!

Really enjoyed this one! The game did a great job of making me feel tense and keeping me focused on what was happening around me.

On my first run I got robbed really easily, although I wasn't quite sure when it happened or who actually did it, which made me want to pay more attention on the next run. I never got to encounter the motorcyclist either, but the rest of the game kept me pretty tense throughout.

If I had one small suggestion, maybe I would make the game just a little faster or more dynamic at some points. I sometimes felt a bit trapped waiting for things to happen, although that might just be my personal experience. Overall, I really enjoyed it and the tension was definitely my favorite part. Great job!
