I’m not smart enough for this (ended at level 8 after great suffering and determination) but I enjoyed the premise and I loved the cat!!

Oh the visual style is really cute! I thought it’d be awesome to see the total number of levels (like a roadmap of the cat’s journey?). So far I’ve only made it to level 11 😅 Also the music is nice but it gets a bit repetitive after a while so maybe consider adding more tracks?
Simple but really cool concept for this theme, great work guys!
I'm not usually into puzzle games, but this one put a smile on my face the moment it started. The art and sounds are great, and the gameplay feels clean and easy to get into. One thing that might make it even better control-wise: Q and E work well on keyboard, but with a mouse, the rotate buttons feel a bit far from the hexagons. Maybe dragging a hexagon to rotate it, or showing the buttons right next to the selected one, would feel smoother. I put together quick mockups of both ideas below. Then again, I'm not very familiar with cozy games, so the current layout might be on purpose. Just a small thought from my side. Really loved it overall.
Thank you shawdv!
The rotate behavior has definitely gone through a lot of iteration. We landed on the current approach for two main reasons: (1) In levels with more hexagons, a side rotate button would overlap with other pieces, which we wanted to avoid. (2) Mobile player can play it without an extra build due to time constraints as friends told us the hexagons are already quite small on mobile, so a drag-based (/hover or mouse enter based) rotation would likely be even harder for those players.
That said, we'd love to keep exploring better options (if we will have future development hahahaha). One idea is a vertical layout on mobile, with the rotate button at the bottom to suit one handed play. But that would definitely need more playtesting to see whether it works for the game.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments, and for putting together that mockup💛 We really appreciate it, and we love to hear more of your ideas for improving the game!!
Pwetty nice! ;) Seems definitely polished and well thought out, although those rotation buttons are kind of far away from the action which distracts a bit. Or, perhaps after a click on the hexagon some rotation buttons could appear next/over it. But the question is how to make it mobile friendly I guess so they are not very small for your fingers, right? You probably considered that option as well, I guess. On desktop it doesn't matter, you could squeeze them somehow without interfering with outside hexagons for changing. But definitely a nice game, meow!
I love it when the rules are so simple but the game itself gets more and more challenging due to more and more complex and interesting puzzles. Very cute and so polished and good looking entry!
A hexagon-based puzzle game. The UI is very straightforward and easy to understand, and solving the puzzles while predicting how the bombs would behave and how much life I'd have left really made me think. The stages are cleverly designed too, and the whole thing feels very polished.
Nice puzzler! And perhaps for those who play on laptop/desktop, a way to rotate the tiles without having to click on the arrows to the side? :)
Cute puzzle game with a cool mechanic that fits the jam theme really well! How many levels are there? I reached level 12 and it's already getting pretty tricky. 😂
Please don't take this as criticism, just a few ideas for improvement:
1. On levels where a new tile is introduced, there is no icon to re-read its description. I missed the "Shielded Hexagon" text and had to go back to the game page to read about it.
2. It would be awesome to have volume controls in the game.
3. On levels with more than 10 tiles, it was annoying that after a failed attempt, all tiles reset to their starting position and you have to rotate them all over again just for one tweak.
4. The chain reaction happens way too fast, so it's hard to catch which tile broke the chain. This is especially noticeable when there are a lot of tiles on the screen.
But overall, the game is absolutely excellent! Well done!
Thank you for your kind words and suggestions! Constructive criticism is more than welcome!
1. That's a great suggestion! We save whether the player has read the tutorial and decide whether to show it the next time they come back to play. This will help with future levels as we add more complex mechanics.
2. Agreed~
3. We actually encountered the same issue too, but we didn't have enough time to implement a solution for this. It's good to know other players feel the same way.
4. Great feedback. We could certainly slow down the chain reaction animations just enough so that players can fully enjoy the cascading effects. Maybe we can add a speed-up feature if it's too slow, just like in your game XD.
Thanks, Estel Games!
