Gameplay / Fun / Engagement: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Theme: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

this was really fun lol. The whole thing is basically a horrible walk through Amsterdam traffic and somehow that works perfectly 😭 The bridge being right there while youre forced to go all the way around is a really nice use of the theme too.

The movement feels good and its really easy to understand what youre supposed to do. I also liked the leaderboard because this is exactly the kind of game where you finish once and immediately think "okay I can do that faster".

Visually I really like it. The pixel art has a lot of personality and all the little vehicles and bikes make the streets feel busy without becoming impossible to read. 5/5 for art from me.

The main thing Id fix is the collision. Sometimes it looks like theres enough room to squeeze between two things but you still die. Id make the actual collision a bit smaller than the sprites so close calls feel fair instead of confusing. Especially in a game where speed matters.

I think the audio is good too but it can get a little busy when a lot happens at once. Maybe lower some of the repeated traffic sounds a bit and add slight pitch variation so hearing the same honk again and again doesnt get tiring.

Could also be fun to have a few more weird Amsterdam-specific hazards later on. Maybe roadworks. tram tracks. tourists blocking the path. delivery bikes. stuff like that. Not really necessary but it would make repeat runs feel even more different.

Really nice game though. Simple idea but done well and the title is great too lol.

If you have some time please check out my game too :) Id really appreciate a rating and some feedback!

WOAH, THIS IS SUCH A PERFECTLY CHAOTIC AMSTERDAM COMMUTE! 🚲🚗😂🌉

I really like how directly the theme is turned into gameplay home is literally right there, but the bridge being up forces you into this ridiculous long journey through traffic! The pixel art has so much character, and all the bikes, cars, fatbikes, and little city details really sell the Amsterdam setting. The sound design also adds a ton of personality, especially the traffic chaos and honks.

The high-score system is a great addition too. It turns a simple Frogger-style idea into something that makes you want to immediately try again and beat your previous run. One thing I’d improve is the collision/hitboxes sometimes the visual gap makes it look like you should squeeze through when the 16x16 tile collision says otherwise. Slightly more forgiving collisions would make those leaderboard runs feel even better.

SUCH A FUN, POLISHED LITTLE COMMUTE FROM HELL! 🚲🔥🏠 GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨

Nice, loveit so much, funny to try and complete, the highscore make you try and try again x3, nice mechanics and good way to create multiples hazards that really looks like a trafic area x3\

amazing art also, very good.

Classic Crossy Roads!

Gameplay is smooth and gives that classic frogger and crossy roads gameplay! The different vehicles all function very well, and I enjoy how short and sweet the game is. There isn't much I can comment or critique on in this game for that reason, but never the less, very well done!

Visuals were solid. I really enjoyed all the pixel art, and the animations for each of the vehicles were super high quality! The colors also worked very nicely, good job!

Audio was good but a bit overwhelming. There were a lot of sound effects playing at once, so maybe just tone done the quantity or volume of individual SFXs.

Theme execution was great, and easy to understand. No complaints

Overall, super good short and sweet game, fun to speedrun!

Leaderboards, I love them! :D Such a nice catch on a Frogger-like game, hopping through the streets of Amsterdam is a really fun idea, and showing how far home actually is compared to how far you walked is a clever way to work with the theme. The pixel art captures the city really well, with all the bikes and little details. Some collisions felt a bit hard though, especially when it was really close. A slightly more forgiving hitbox would make it feel fairer and keep the flow going for that next leaderboard run. The music itself is fun, but I'm not sure how it fits the game here? To me it sounds more like a funfair, while the game feels like a "standard" street at night, so for me the mood didn't quite match. The SFX are fine, the honks are funny, but a bit more variation would be nice since you hear them a lot. Really enjoyed this one, now I have to go back and climb the leaderboard :)

This was really fun! I managed to get first on the leaderboard which I'm very happy with :)

I also really liked the sound design in this game, all of the sound effects felt very fitting and I especially liked the car honks when they run you over. My one suggestion would be to make the hitboxes slightly more forgiving. There were a lot of moments where I thought "I definitely should've fit through that gap." but just died. Overall great game :D

Congrats on first place! Glad you enjoyed the sound, I really focused on that for this jam.

Agreed about the hitboxes – There isn’t actually any sprite-based collision, just 16x16 tiles. I left a bit too much empty space around some sprites so it looks like you can fit in places you can’t. I tried to lengthen some of the sprites to fit their boxes, but clearly not enough. Good feedback for next time, or maybe I’ll try using the sprite-collider in an update post-jam.

A fun update to a modern classic.

Visually things are really solid. The audio does a great job of supporting that.

I wish the controller felt a little tighter, but overall the concept works and it’s fun to play.

Great work!

I really loved this. Great use of the theme, the art and sound are beautiful. Fun. I’m a big fan of weird plays… er, word plays — so extra points for the title.

Thanks! The name came pretty late in development, but lands miles closer to home than all the other candidates:)

I think it's amazing—honestly, the part at the end where you can see your score is awesome. The game is great overall, but that feature really makes me want to play it even more. I really like the sound effects. Great game. :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the scoreboard, this is my first time adding a global one and I’m glad I did. It’s so cool to see other names on there :D

A really good frogger-like. Loved the sounds and music, and the art style captured Amsterdam in pixellated glory.

Controls are tight and you can clearly see the path ahead. You did a good job making sure there is always a path to move forward, it never feels unfair, but its still a decent challenge.

Good work!

Developer

Thanks!! I’m glad that the feeling of Amsterdam came through! Pretty much every sprite is based on something I saw during development. I focused mostly on sound/art this time over systems design, so glad it was appreciated.

I HAD FUN!

Let's start with the title- It makes you interested immediately. Of course, it also drops some shade on Amsterdam traffic. I've never been there, but I think it has a rather pedestrian friendly reputation.

The presentation is consistently oldschool. The music is cool and it gives off nice relaxed vibes, offsetting the stress caused by crazy cyclists.

As for the gameplay, at first I though "this is just a frogger clone", which is true, but also it's a really well made frogger clone. Movement is snappy and obstacle movement is easily readable, so any time I walk under a bus I can't blame anyone but myself.

As for the theme- pretty much on point!

Over all- great game, I enjoyed it a lot! Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks!! Glad you had fun :D!

I would say Amsterdam is a bike-friendly city :P. It’s extremely walkable, but sometimes feels like pedestrians take a distant second. Definitely not a city for cars though.

Appreciate the kind works, I hope I was able to do Frogger justice.
