WOAH, THIS REALLY FEELS LIKE A CLASSIC ARCADE TRIP BACK HOME! ๐๐ ๐พ๐ฅ
I love the two-layer interpretation of the theme literally flying back to Earth, while also taking inspiration from the early days of arcade games. The simple shoot, dodge, and survive gameplay works really well for that old-school feeling, and the minimalist graphics and sound give it a lot of charm. The little GoedWare Jam message hidden along the journey is also a fun touch! ๐
The main thing Iโd improve is the difficulty curve. A slightly gentler start before gradually increasing the enemy pressure would make the run more approachable, while stronger damage/impact feedback could make hits feel even more satisfying. But honestly, the core loop is already really fun and polished for a 20-hour jam project.
SUCH A FUN LITTLE ARCADE EXPERIENCE! ๐๐พ๐ฅ Great job making something that feels complete while sticking to a simple idea, and good luck with the jam! ๐ฎโจ
Nice game ! feel very finish for a GameJam entry.
Simple classic idea but execute very well!.
GoodJob!
A lot of classic vibes here!
This was a fun play. The graphics were unique and cool to look at. The sound supported that well, though a bass heavy damage sound would have matched the animation for taking damage really well and sold that devastation.
Really fun jam game!
Fun game! Moving, dodging and shooting were all satisfying. Sound effects really fit the style. I wish the music continued on throughout the whole run.
It felt a bit unfair the enemy shots didnโt break up asteroids, but I still made it home safe!
Really addictive! The sound and visuals are minimalist, but theyโre done in such an appealing way. Extra respect for the destruction effect! Great work!
Nice old school space shooter feel and aesthetics. I had fun playing for a few runs, but then couldnt get past a certain stage. The controls feel good and the core mechanics are solid. I also like the fact that you have put messages which have some references to home to tie in with the theme, though i felt that the connection could have been stronger.. I think maybe the difficulty could have been tuned donw a bit in the early stages with fewer space ships shooting at the player and then increase that gradually. UI was also quite intuitive, though the logic for recharging of bullets was not very intuitive to me, but wasnt really much of an issue. Overall was good fun, well done!
Simple and cute, good job!
I really enjoyed this game! It has a very arcade-like feeling, and I think that simplicity is one of its strongest points. The gameplay is easy to understand, but it still manages to be really fun and addictive.
Sometimes a game does not need to add a lot of new mechanics to be enjoyable, and I think this one captures that classic arcade experience very well. It is a simple but entertaining experience that makes you want to keep playing and improving your score. :D
Very addicting arcade game, well done! It's well polished and send us back to the old shmups. Great work!
Oh my god, I absolutely love the game over and the art style! Somehow, it reminded me of Interstellar. Amazing work! :)
Had a lot of fun playing, it is really satisfactory, the feedback is polished. Good job
