How did you use AI?
Claude (Opus 5.5, in Claude Code): all the code (Godot 4), the 3D figures (Blender) turned into animated puppets, the print-style art pipeline, sound levelling, test tools and balance simulation, and first drafts of the text.
Midjourney: the backgrounds, the carved frame, the story and ending illustrations, and character reference art.
Visual edits: ChatGPT
ElevenLabs: the voices. Matthew Schmitz is the narrator; Alaric is Bayun.
Suno: the battle music, “The Crooked Dance” and "Bayun's Song" - Atlas Archive
Clever tricks
Robot against cat. You’re Nemko, a robot built from a church bell, climbing to Bayun, the giant cat of Slavic folklore. He never moves; he fights back by telling tales and singing.
Exact forecast. Hover over or tap a tile and the game shows exactly what the cat will do in reply. A test checks thousands of these forecasts, with zero mismatches.
Steer him by walking. On the left of the pillar he tells tales, which summon creatures. On the right he sings, which puts them to sleep but makes the moon run faster.
Print-making pipeline. Blender renders go through a custom engraver to get a folk-print look, then are cut into puppet layers for animation.
Tuned by simulation. Bots played thousands of games: careful play reaches the summit about half the time; clicking forward, about 10%.
Hidden ending. The cat secretly wants something too. He lets a clue slip near where it’s hidden, which leads to the ending where you feed him instead of beating him.
List of Team Members (name or pseudonyms)
Kay Kovalčík (Atlas House): director, writing, art direction, voice direction, sound. Claude (Anthropic): engineering, 3D and animation, pipelines, testing.
How does your game fit the restriction?
You’re a robot, and all you can do is walk. Every action is one step in eight directions: Walk straight into a creature to strike it. Walk diagonally into one to give a gift: the direction picks the hand. Step onto a niche to pick up an item, or onto a chain to choke the cat. Where you walk decides whether he tells tales or sings. At the summit, where you walk picks the ending. On a phone, tap to preview a step and tap again or swipe to take it.

the art if freaking great and I love the lore, nice job
Thank you so much!
A real interesting game - has an unusual depth of gameplay - it too ka while to understand what i was actually effecting but it has the bones of a great title. I would suggest you develop the concept further. Good effort
Thanks for playing! I am working on changing the gaming mechanics, for after voting ends, to make it a little more straightforward/common sense and smooth. Thanks for the feedback.
I like the pictures very much. Can you make the visual style of levels a bit more similar to them?
I'm gonna say nothing about the gameplay as it has already been discussed a lot.
I will make an effort to do that once voting ends, I agree. Thanks for the feedback!
Great game, and great writeup on the pipeline, well done! I enjoyed the style and the story and solving the riddles, it was a nice challenge to learn how to control giving items, and how to avoid damage, I also liked that it wasn't too strict and allowed me to make mistakes and still finish, nice work!
Thanks so much for the kind feedback! Glad you had fun!
Well executed, but the game design could have used more clarity on that the animal types would change preferences in the run. Also the left vs right hand was confusing and hard to work with. Here is my playthrough:
Great feedback! Will definitely tighten the game up after the jam voting ends. Will clean up the gift giving mechanism and take out a lot of the text. Thank you for playing and for the playthrough that is so awesome! Also regarding your feedback- Nemko is an "automaton" but I could have made that narratively more obvious. I really appreciate the feedback.
Fun! liked the idea, played a few, this could have easily been a turned based or a story based game. many options with this concept.
Thank you for playing! Yes the idea was originally a narrative driven type of game, but had to roll with the restriction!
Yeah, same thing happened to me. I actually made 5 games. Two of them followed the theme, but then I reread the rules and didn't want to risk it. The others were more complicated and needed way more polish than I had time for during this jam.
I love the art style very much and that you made a great story behind the game. Excellent!
Thank you so much!
I think the art looks really nice! i did myself mostly clicking around, i'm not sure i fully understand what was going on, but it was fun to go through.
Cool soundtrack, also!
Thanks for playing! Sorry it felt a bit confusing- was it just too much info being thrown at you? I will probably tighten it up after the jam- thanks for the comment!
yeah, i think it was a bit much all at the same time. Do let me know when you've tightened it up, I'll gladly play again!
