Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm curious, what do you think would make the game easier? And did you find it challenging in a fun way, or more frustrating than enjoyable? I'm asking because I personally felt the gameplay got a bit repetitive, and I couldn't quite figure out how to improve that.

Also, since you mentioned the web version lagging, would you mind sharing your laptop specs? I'd love to look into what's causing it and see if I can improve the performance.

You're welcome  now that's a rabbit hole worth going down!

I wonder how many classic games are really just Pac Man in disguise

I actually discovered Rodent's Revenge purely by accident myself, but I was there 3000 years ago to make that discovery with a friend It's a great memory, so I really appreciate games that bring back that feeling.

Haha, guilty as charged!

There's something about those old games that modern ones just can't quite replicate. Love seeing that spirit brought back to life

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I did the same with Codex while testing. It beat me by like 3000% and got all 3 stars on every level. I could barely get 2 stars on some levels, let alone 3

You're absolutely right, I felt the same way but couldn't quite figure out how to solve it. Most of my ideas ended up breaking the jam rules, so I actually made a few other games with them instead.

If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. I was thinking about adding enemies or something along those lines to make things more interesting.

Thanks for the feedback and the video, hope you enjoyed the game at least a little :)

I learned a lot from making this game and playing what everyone else created. Hopefully next time I'll plan things better and come up with something even more interesting.

Then again, I might just keep improving this one, because why not? It's an AI game after all

Thanks, really appreciate it. I actually based it on Boulder Dash, but added some of my own twists along the way, so it ended up being something a bit different. I love how everyone sees a little bit of a game they've played before in it.

Thanks, really appreciate the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the design and the little details I put into it.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. That was exactly the idea, I wanted the game to challenge players rather than hold their hand.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I actually made 5 games. Two of them followed the theme, but then I reread the rules and didn't want to risk it. The others were more complicated and needed way more polish than I had time for during this jam.

Let me know if you end up implementing it, I'd love to test it out for you.

That's really cool! I had no idea you could actually do that. Impressive stuff!

Brings back memories from Rodent's Revenge!

Well done, great game

Wow this brings back memories from that game era

Great game, it's like playing coop with yourself.

Boy that cat sure can jump

Really impressive for such a short development time! I enjoyed it overall, though the 3D movement effect made it a bit confusing to figure out which direction I was going.

Red alert with cats and robots :)

Great platformer, a proper one!

Really liked the death animation too. I even tried double jumping through the ceiling, hoping to find a Super Mario style secret level :D

Fun and happy game :)

Fun but hard and this is how it should be!

Well made game with lots of mechanics.

Well made, kinda reminds me of the special levels in sonic games, but the concept is fun and you've added more difficulty with the overboard mechanic. well made and polished.

Very nice! Love the Japanese style game concept, and the game feels really polished. The leaderboard is a great addition too, adds some extra motivation to keep playing

You used your own AI tool to build this?
i liked it! kinda samurai pizza cats meets mario meets action game thing going on, well done, bosses original as well.

Definitely has some Portal 2 vibes! I really wanted to enjoy it, but the controls felt a bit clunky, and the door trigger mechanic didn't really help. The levels also felt a little too crowded for a platformer. That said, I liked the concept, the story, and the overall direction!

Could have worked better as a 2d or text based quest game but i liked the AI hal 9000 voice lol

Thanks,  i wanted it to have some challenge in it

Thanks

This was fun, kinda like Pacman, great job!

I think it's the first non Godot i've seen, great job on the art and game!

(1 edit)

Nice, kinda reminds me of alley cat. like the style real retro!

Beautiful game, great use of AI tools taking notes here :)

Amazing result for the short time period.

Fun! liked the idea, played a few, this could have easily been a turned based or a story based game. many options with this concept.

Cool! kinda similar to mine a bit but different direction.

Particularly like the color system and bonus objectives

Nice game, i would have gone typing of the dead on this one :)

But original concept, great use of AI.

Page is great, art is great, style of game is known to be great (played it since 1942). Good job!

Had a blast with this one, i would have gone fruit ninja on this rather than this one arm bandit robo cat lol but very fun and well put game

I can see the AI patterns, my game is also turn based like this one, some sounds\music would add a lot to it and perhaps some challenge but i had a good time with it regardless.

I would consider this a Japanese style game, the concept and the music is similar to what i've seen in those games but it's fun, any cat owner would agree :)

Kinda reminds me of Dwarf Fortress, not my jam but i can see the effort in this so good job

This is also original, missing some music \ too many cat sounds but the concept is fun, hide and seek :)
