It’s a really cool idea with the thermometer, the atmosphere is great and the music is on point. Also, check out my game.

What a visual masterpiece. Looking forward to some lore. I don't know where, but I managed to walk into 1 of the buildings and fall off the map. Looking forward for the next update!

Developer

Thanks for feedback! Yes, we are already actively working on the next update. A complete map rework is ready, along with reworks for several mechanics. We are also updating the visuals and improving performance (by my estimates, that’s an increase of 100–150 FPS compared to the previous version).

Here’s a quick teaser of the visuals. Thanks again for your feedback!

You've really created a great atmosphere here, mechanics feels good to use, great work!

That is a bit of a dark twist for this limitation. The concept is really nice! The place around feels sad and empty which I imagine was the idea so good job on that!

The items are placed so far away from each other however that it is difficult to survive even one night. Although probably not impossible.

Immaculate vibes, both in the look and sound of the game. It would have been nice to have a little bit of lore or even to know where we were heading instead of just wandering in the cold but that's a personal preference. Really nice work though!

Developer

Because of the overblown work plan, we simply did not have time to do everything in too short a time. But the game is being finalized and we are currently thinking about these pressing issues for us!!! Thanks for the feedback!!)

The game turned out really well! The models are pleasant to look at, and the city is an interesting place to explore.

I should also mention that the game immediately reminded me of an older game called Beneath the Cardboard. I don't know if it was actually an inspiration, but I definitely got a similar vibe from it =D

Here are a couple of things I'd consider improving:

  • The game page explains everything quite well, but I'd love to see the game itself introduce the mechanics and controls. That way, players can learn everything they need without having to rely on external instructions.
  • I'd appreciate having an option to adjust the sound volume in-game, without having to change the volume of the entire system.
  • Players familiar with the game that inspired this one might worry that they won't get much of a new experience out of it. That could make some of them lose interest before giving the game a proper chance. I'd love to see the game establish its own identity early on, acknowledging its inspiration while also showing players what new experiences it has to offer.
  • Although autumn wasn't a mandatory part of the jam, I would have enjoyed seeing it explored a little more. This is mostly a personal preference, though, and the game more than satisfies the mandatory "Stay Warm" restriction.

Overall, this is a pretty good result for such a short development period. The two-person team clearly worked well together!

Great job, both of you! ❤️

Hi Nekkka!

It's genuinely impressive that you managed to achieve this level of smoothness in 3D, with such beautiful lighting, environments, and characters, all within the Mini Jam timeframe. That's seriously remarkable and shows a lot of skill! The way you play with lighting in the hallways is art direction at its finest.

I've been trying out several games from the jam with my wife, taking turns playing. She started with yours, and since she's not really familiar with the gaming world (she has a life, unlike us XD), she felt the game could have been a little more welcoming when explaining its objectives and mechanics.

I, on the other hand, really enjoyed that silent conversation between the game and the player, along with the slow-paced survival experience. But I also understand that this approach isn't for everyone.

I feel like you poured a lot of your own perception of winter into this game, and it really shows.

Thanks so much for sharing it!

Best!

Thanks for such a detailed comment, We really appreciate it. We went overboard with the map size and didn't have time to properly implement all the mechanics, but we are continuing development on the game.

The vibe of this game is really nice, but finding food was quite difficult.

Submitted(+2)

Really nice art style. I got stuck a few times (but I did only try the browser version) and never found any food.

Submitted(+1)

I love the artistic approach, it's totally my style!

I like the vibe quite a bit, but must admit that I didn't really know what to do.
I feel like this game could've used some nice tutorialization, because I had to go in the game description to read what I should do & I feel like that detracts from the immersion.
Really love the fire animation btw!

Thanks for the feedback!

We actually wanted to do something like that, but with only two hours left in the jam, we didn't even have the lose condition or the menu ready yet :"C

That’s why we had to put all the details in the description.

But we plan to keep updating the game and turn it into a truly great survival game!

A major update is already in the works (if wonky colliders were bothering you, that won't happen again—we’ve completely reworked the map and fixed most of the issues with it). I think we'll release this update in the next few days.

I liked the game's visual style, music, and atmosphere. But I felt a bit lost.

Love the overall atmosphere! That NPC's face totally jumpscared me, lol!

I like the game a lot. Cool atmosphere of course, but learning how the game works and what to do is a unique experience in and of itself. It really sucks though when I get stuck on a wall and get locked out from continuing. Also, seeing at night is hard enough, but the visual effects at low temp make it virtually impossible to see, so at that point, I'm practically dead already unless I miraculously come across the right items. But maybe that's the point. Seriously great work on this.

Love the visual style and low poly graphics. Music add sauce to atmosphere too. Also love how the fog made.

love the game!

CRAZY work for only 3 days, atmosphere is insane, authors were definitely inspired by game "beneath the cardboard" which is a truly ball knowledge. awesome work

Developer

YES! That is literally the game that set the entire direction for development. Thanks for the feedback!

Super cool game! It reminds me of old-school Silent Hill on the Playstation 1. The adults that were walking around were very creepy and the atmosphere with the fog is really good.

I survivd the first night because I found a lot of cheese next to some trash cans in the park, as well as a cardboard box I could burn. Then eventually I kept going around (this game has a really big map 😮) and I died in the cementery. But I do appreciate that the way that you implemented dark and cold effects never caused me to not be able to see the map. I think you have a very cool implementation of what its like to be in the dark: Not completely black, but still difficult to see.

I love the atmosphere, and the visuals and I think the concept of your game is super interesting. Trying to survive as a homeless girl... there's something sad about it.

If there's one advice I could give you: I often felt like I didn't know which direction I should be going in. What you could do in the future is add some sources of light. Players usually go towards light in these types of games, and that way you can "guide" the player a bit towards an experience without explicitly telling what to do. I don't think you should spoonfeed solutions to them, but it is nice to have some hint of where to start looking.

Other than this: Great game! Enjoyed it!

Such cold and bleak setting. I'm kinda suck at finding food ngl, all I did was making a ramp with a box and blank

nice game style
