The Biggest Challenge
The breakthrough was splitting the work between two Claude sessions with a written plan in between. One Claude worked as my producer. It turned my ideas into concept images and short batch briefs, and I approved each one before any code was written. Claude Code then built that batch in my game folder, tested it in headless Firefox, took its own screenshots and wrote a handoff. The producer Claude read the results straight from the folder and gave me a short playtest list.
AI Tools Used
- Claude Code wrote and tested all of the game's code.
- Claude in a claude.ai Project planned the batches, drew the concept images and the SVG art.
Areas Where AI Was Used
- Code:all of the JavaScript, written by Claude Code from briefs I approved. That covers the pop-up book, the rolling physics, the pull-tabs, the 12 levels and their star times, the carving page, the menus and the automated Firefox tests.
- Images:all of the cut-paper art, drawn by Claude as SVG. That covers the base asset sheet (made before the jam, as the rules allow), the rutabaga lantern, the carving parts, the background props, the logo intro (traced from my own logo), and the itch cover and banner.
- Sound:every sound is synthesized in the browser by code Claude wrote. There are no audio files.
