Great game.. nice job 😊
Good luck 👍
Played this again, nice game! A few quick thoughts on improving the pacing:
Great work on this!
Its a good game to continue developing, its somehow too much for a jam as the pacing is slow.
Amazing graphics, but wished for some music and sounds maybe some SFX.
I suggest to keep going on it, keep the pace faster (maybe make the character moves faster.
One thing I have counter is that when the cutscene of corrupting the graves, the camera can moves and the character can move (I suppose you are using the character camera and not disabling the user input.
Great work!!
Yeah, camera moving during cutscenes is a bug. Sounds are muted unless you enable them. Thanks for the feedback!
This has the makings of a really good game. Looks like a tower defense game, but for a game jam, where the average player spends may 10 minutes tops playing a game, you are going to be hard pressed to get anyone to actually figure out an ultimately play the game.
You did a lot of work considering this was a 10 day jam
Yeah, got a bit ambitious. The story was meant as the soft introduction/10 minute slice. Curious if you gave that a try or just jumped right in?
Music/sfx are there, just muted unless you turn them on. Esc/pause menu or the main menu had controls for this.
I guess this is a game with many strategic options which lead to a good replay value. If I only could really play it - the onboarding leaves something to be desired. Please TELL the player that he can use TAB and the scroll wheel and so on... the TAB/mouseover, after I found it out, did help a little, but not enough. The explanation is too short here. Maybe it may suffice for players which are accustomed to this sort of games, but not everyone is.
For example, you say making graves is important. Yeah, they are needed to spawn my army. So how do I dig them? Is any place ok or is it impossible on the path? I was digging which the shovel but it produced gold, not a grave.
You give some tactical advice on the game page (goals and methods) but this is no substitute for telling HOW to play it in the first place.
Aside from that, I see the complexity in all corners. This looks like a game made in a month, not in a good week.
Yeah... sorry, I wanted to get so much more in... but ran out of time. I got the core loop to the point that it was fun for me (default settings on mourning manor), starting getting a bit carried away for a jam on adding mp/map/units then realized nobody is going to understand how to play this. So I hard pivoted and added the story/tutorial. Goal was to explain all of the controls, but didn't quite get there.
I actually have much more intuitive control/ui scheme planned for post jam update, but that is where it landed by the deadline. I added more detailed controls explainer to the game page so players can at least see what is there now. It is a bit complex... haha, it all made sense to me at the time I was adding it... definitely needs a rework!
Hey llamapope, man you did a ton of work in 10 days. There are a ton of systems in here. UI work is very good, but some of the text is kind of hard to read. Might just be my monitor, ultrawide and game jams don't always mix well. Solid entry!
yeah... I definitely didn't test on ultrawide... 1920x1080 is best, tried for mobile, some of it works there, some falls flat. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
