I think you got the best cooking mechanic of the jam and also a super slick tutorial. Really appreciated you made the difficulty options so I could learn the basics in Casual diff. Recipes are so well designed that I was able to guess the steps by the drink name after a few cups. Smashing the ingredients (especially the :> pumpkin) felt very satisfying. GG!
TYSM for the kind words, I really appreciate it! I'm glad you found the difficulty slider useful as well, I almost cut it out but playtests told me otherwise.. so I'm glad I kept it in and that it was useful to you! Happy that you found the Recipes good as well haha, the names (including ingredients) are quite on the nose and I tried to keep it simple. (like glowberries are stars becuz they glow??? and uh moon berries... is the moon lol) GLAD THEY ARE RECOGNIZABLE HAHA.
Also, thanks so much for putting my game into your collection!! It really means so much.
The gameplay loop was so satisfying, and I loved the little movement as you move your cursor around. The fairies drinking the drink was such a smart way to go about the limitation too. Very nicely done!
I'm happy you found the game fun! I'm still unsure if the fairies were a good idea or not, so I'm glad you found it good haha.
I loved your game as well! Thanks so much for the comment.
Super chill, super comfy. This would be great as a full game! The vibes are perfect and the game is very well-made.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for leaving a comment :)
The art and gameplay loop is so charming and fun and cute, the fairy thing being the limitation worked really well with the cafe theme of the game too, which was honestly very fun to see! The polish is really good, i didn't find bugs and the tutorial helped me out a lot. The controls are very intuitive. Good job!!!
Thanks so much for the comment! I'm so happy the tutorial could help and elevate your experience haha. I was seriously contemplating how much effort to put into that and it's really only thanks to the extra day that I could implement it.
Thanks for playing!! LOVE YOUR WORK AS WELL!!
You've got tons of comments already but I'll echo what they say. Amazing level of polish for two weeks, fits the theme well, really cute art (the sad face when grinding the pumpkin really got me!), and a tried and true gameplay loop that is satisfying and fun. Truly well done, I'm super super impressed! Bonus points for the incredibly detailed, effective, but also very streamlined tutorial, that is very hard to do, especially with such a short time limit, and you crushed it! The only tiny bit of feedback is that some of the UI noises are just beeps and boops, and I think with your fantasy theme you could have gone a bit more whimsical and less robotic there, but really not a big thing compared to how polished the rest of your game is.
One other thing... I really appreciate that you were honest and up front about using music and SFX from Pixabay, but there are so many composers and SFX people looking for teams for these jams that I would love to see people give the community a chance! It would create a lot more opportunities for folks in the discord to participate and also give your game something totally unique! That said, your implementation of the audio was really good and well polished.
Really enjoyed playing!
Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, I'm really grateful!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game, I really only managed to get that tutorial done thanks to that extra day of the jam haha. I totally agree with the UI noises, to be very honest, I completely forgot about them until the last part of the jam and I just took them from my previous game. I'll be sure to update it!
On another note, I don't really understand people who hide their use from Pixabay or other sites.. it feels wrong to claim something as my own if it isn't right??
I'll definitely consider working in a team in a future jam! I wasn't too satisfied with my previous jam and I just really wanted to test my limits and see what I could do as a solo dev (after so, so, so much group work in college/uni...) and I hope I've done well haha.
Thanks so much for the comment, really means a lot!
Wow so much fun! Loved the game and the gameplay loop. Really reminded me of the classic Papa's flash games! And just like those games I could play this one for hours. Not only was it fun, but it controlled great. Great work on everything!!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)
Fun fact, papa flash games was the inspiration haha, wanted to do a kitchen at first but I quickly realized that the scope was just way too big. so dishes became drinks and everything else was simplified or streamlined so I could make the deadline.
Thanks for playing!! :)
Great gameplay loop and intuitive interactions. The tutorial arrows were really helpful too!
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the game!
Great art, audio, and gameplay loop with your cooking game; having to chase away fairies was a nice addition to the loop. The ground pumpkin sprite was another nice touch. So funny! One potential for improvement I noticed was that if I started brewing a coffee (maybe other tasks too?) and I left the current screen, when I later returned to that screen I'd have to restart my brew as the cup would show as empty. Luckily, I didn't lose any of my ingredients, but it did slow me down a few times on my quest to fill orders. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Thanks for the feedback and comment! I definitely agree with the improvement you suggested, it makes a lot more sense for this type of game, I'll add it to the list for the next update. Thanks so much for playing!
Took me a bit but im finally able to play this game, i like how full of options it has to create drinks. I could keep myself into this game for a long day if i dont stop myself first. I have a heart for cooking game this one hit my spot on. amaizing work!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for the kind words.
Loved your game as well, your art is fantastic :)
Wow! Such a satisfying and juicy game! The coffee-making mechanics felt brilliant, and the overall game feel was spot on. It was cosy with just enough tension to keep me on my toes, and watching out for fairies was a really creative use of the limitation. Very well done!
I'm glad you found the game fun! Happy that the fairies gave you enough tension, haha.
Thanks for the feedback and comment :) Really love your work!
Those darn fairies drank the made coffee >:(!!!!! It is so fun I loved it! Not only the stress of making the coffees but having to watch for the fairies really makes it a unique experience! I love the time took for the unique art for each of the drinks it was really great game!
Hi, thanks so much for the kind comment! I spent a good chunk of time trying to balance the drinks, so I'm really glad you found it fun!
Thanks ๐
We have similar games lol. Your game is 10x more polished and I had a great time playing it. The only thing i could say is that I don't see the limitation in the game. Awesome work :)
Hi thanks for leaving the comment! The limitation comes when the fairies steal and drink your drink (the cursor acts like your sight) so if you hover away for too long they will come. So.. i guess "the drink changes when you look away???" haha. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it alot :)
I enjoyed your game as well! It's nice to see similar ideas turn out differently.
It was fun and cosy! Loved the ambient sounds. While the fairies try to steal your drinks I think they are a cool way for "discarding" drinks that was made wrongly. Also loved how the pumpkin goes from :> to :( when you mashed it, fun little detail. Managed to play through 3 rounds.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! Hm.. Using the fairies like that is definitely a first so far, haven't thought of it!
I loved that detail as well, it's named "pumpky" in the game files as well haha. Hopefully it isn't too cruel to squash it.
Thanks for playing through 3 rounds of the game :)
This is so fun! Fantasy cafe papas pizzeria in the best way. The tutorial and instructional book is very nicely done. A game like this without a strong walkthrough can be really daunting but this was so great! Also all the drink art is amazing! I would love to have a Sparkling Treeroot Ale right about now.
Thanks for the comment! Rly appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, a sparkling treeroot ale would be great to have haha.
Really chill game! Loved the overall vibe and how all the different drinks looked. Your hours of watching baristas definitely paid off XD. The whole drink-making process felt really satisfying, and I liked all the little details that went into preparing everything. I can tell a lot of thought went into the mechanics, even little things like being able to transfer the contents from one cup to another.
The sound design was great too, with the relaxing music, subtle background chatter, and all the little pouring and clanking sounds. It was almost ASMR-like haha. Everything came together to make the cafe feel really cozy. I also got a kick out of the pumpin looking sad when it got ground up lol.
Thanks so much for the comment!! Haha so happy you enjoyed the game. You should see the design document... it's a huge mess of spaghetti. So glad you caught the ASMR feel, that was one of the things I was working towards and was inspired by watching those barista videos haha.
Thanks again for playing, really appreciate it :)
This game was super fun and felt very polished! Everything ran well and worked super nice. I did not ever get to see the fairies so I guess i'm just too good. Dani reference. Very good game!
Haha thanks for leaving a comment! I guess it's good that the fairies didn't bother you, they become more of a nuisance once the difficulty ramps up to expert+.
Rip to our king dani. miss him everyday.
Thanks again for the comment!
Such a lovely game! The drink sprites look so tasty! Love how they sparkle lol โ
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the game
It's so impressive how much polish you were able to put into this project in just 2 weeks! This game was extremely fun, the art was great, and the sound design was fantastic. Amazing work!
Thanks so much! had to borrow many VFX and assets from my previous game to get the polish done on time. Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it! :)
Amazing game, really good feel, I could see myself playing it on my phone sometimes
The game ran well in the browser, no technical issues or bugs
The gameplay is very engaging and fun, all the mechanics play well together
The art is simple but works well in this game, its clearly indicated what ingredients are where
Thanks for the comment! I'm happy you found it fun :)
Really lovely game, after a while I started to get good at predicting recipes and only needed to glance at the instructions to make drinks. I would totally play a longer version of this all of the customers had a fun mix of personalities!
The ground pumpkin might be the cutest thing in existence I love it ๐ญ
Thanks so much for the comment! I'm glad the pumpkin made you happy haha
Really enjoyed your game as well :)
