The platforming is very snappy and the light system is pretty well implemented. I wish you'd be traveling forward after every level instead of back and forth, I know it doesn't change the game but it didn't feel like I was going anywhere.

I liked the visuals of the game. The diagonal platforms sometimes were strange to jump from, taking precious time for retries. Sound would have been nice, but time is always an issue, especially for the first jam, so good job :)

Cool mood, with the light and deep shadows!

Thank you so much!

this is a really fun lil precision platformer! the art style is cool too! only real comment i have is the lack of audio, but otherwise, with more levels or even an end goal, this is the type of game i can see myself getting casually hooked on! nice job!

Nice job! I would have liked it if the vents stood out more or like "powered on" after flipping a switch, not a big problem but I'm embarrassed to admit that I spent an extra 20-30 seconds in the tutorial trying to figure out what you meant by "going in the vent" hahahaha.

Yeah I've been realizing a lot, reading through these comments, that indicators that things were on were severely lacking and that this game could have used a lot more yellow paint. Thank you so much for the feedback and I'll definitely try to do better next gljam.

Honestly it didn't need THAT much! genuinely really good for a short jam!

Nice and simple. Great job for first jam game.

Since you asked on your page how to improve, here’s some things I would recomend:

  • Music and sound. Music helps to set vibe, sound is great feedback tool
  • Feedback. Right now it’s not obvious that switch was toggled. I completely missed it first time playing and kept trying different buttons to flip switch. Yes, I skipped tutorial :). Maybe clear visual sign on exit or smth. But SFX would help here a lot.
  • Timer running while player cannot control character feels kinda unfair, specially while switching between screens.
  • Diagonal floors look wrong, if your player model doesn’t support standing on uneven grounds.
  • Usual platfromer QoLs: Coyote time, Ledge Magnetism, Asymmetric jump gravity. Might be more, but those are ones I remember that would fit here.

Thank you so much for all the feedback.

I ran out of time to add sound and/or music mainly because I've never done them before in any game. I didn't want to try to learn with one day left in the game jam and still have a lot else I needed to do. I honestly had a feeling skipping the tutorial would be a major problem and I do agree that without sound it's kind of hard to tell when things are flipped.

I also did not have time to add coyote time or the other things you mentioned. The ramp physics were definitely bad. I honestly didn't like where the game was going for the last half of it but I was already so far and I just wanted to finish it and make it playable.

Thank you so much for the feedback and I will try to do better on my next jam to make a better game for you guys.

It’s okay :D

You asked for things to improve, I gave you list in order of importance. That’s just an opinion of one guy. Don’t take it as “your game is bad without this things”. Just features that I would recomend for you to try/learn/focus_on at some point.

And sometimes you just run out of time and don’t have time to impliment something. Stuff happens. (I managed to barely impliment some of UI graphics and SFXs, due to running out of time this jam)

But what’s important is fact that you did learn something here. That will add up, just keep going at comfortable pace. Focus on good things.

You finished jam. Your game is here. You did good.

Thank you!

I like the art style and the concept. I think a game like this could go far with some music and more levels. I also think that the jumping is a little weird, especially when trying to jump off of a slanted floor while running, it seems to eat some of the jump inputs.  Nice job!

I really dig the art style, it shined through there.

I would've added more variety in directions between TVs, because it becomes obvious very quickly that you are just changing between two TVs, and I could've almost sworn I got repeating levels causing me to think I was just stuck in a loop.

The interpretation of the theme is very cool, good job on your entry!

Hey, congrats on your submission! I think the art style is really cute and this is a cool game idea. Jumping from tv to tv is a unique interpretation of the signal theme. As far as how the gameplay feels, the character controller felt a bit clunky (pushing space to jump takes a sec to make the character jump) but that shouldn't be hard to tweak after the jam is over. Hopefully this is helpful, congrats again on your game!

I'm not sure on what to do, I flipped the switch but then got stuck

You go in behind the vent in the bottom right from the left. Sorry, that did come up in playtesting; I should have made it clearer. My b.
