What a great game :) Felt really polished and nice to play. Quite addictive :D

I would’ve loved to have a highlight ability to try and find those last missing souls. Nicely polished and fun to be had all round. Nice job.

Thanks for playing! Given more time, I definitely would've added a 'Sixth Sense' ability to see nearby bodies through walls.

What a fun take on the clean 'em up genre! Really well presented, very satisfying, great sound design. I'm amused at the thought of you placing all the bodies, I'm assuming you just ragdolled them all and baked their final positions? You should release a video of that process, haha

Developer

Thank you!

Ragdoll and baking skeletal characters would be more accurate and look better, but I was worried about performance and high draw calls with thousands of uniquely posed bodies. Luckily the Synty Kingdom pack already has a dozen 'dead soldiers' in different poses. I just physics simulate small groups of bodies, then bake the transforms and do the next batch. With only 10 unique meshes, the bodies are instanced/batch rendered and performance is great. Only took an hour to fill the level with 3000 bodies.

Here's a clip of the process:

Oh, even better that it had all the different poses! Great work :)

Thanks for playing! There's 3000 souls to collect, you had 2999, so close!

I really enjoyed this. I do love an incremental or job simulator that has you doing something repetitive. The game feel was super clean, and I couldn't stop until I clicked all the bodies I could find. The one critique I have (and a lot of incremental games make this mistake) is having hold to interact as an 'upgrade'. It should really be available for accessibility reasons at any time.  Well done!

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! The last few incrementals I played all had a hold upgrade, so I'm guilty of following the herd on that one. But you're totally right, it's not really a fun 'upgrade' to unlock. It should be there from the start. Appreciate the feedback!

I've never been a fan of incremental games but this one was really enjoyable! I think the only thing that could have made it better was some environmental storytelling, things like different uniforms, siege equipment, something to make it feel like as we clean up the bodies we get a sense of what went on here. Otherwise it was good and I had fun.

Developer

Yeah good point, I would've loved to have more time to decorate the environment and not have the bodies not all look the same. But I'm glad you had fun. Thanks for playing!
