That's most of us trying to get ahead in life. This brought back memories, man. The experience was frustrating and intimidating at the same time. A beautiful life-slice of a past life. Well done!

Submitted

Really cool game, loved the artstyle and concept of it!

Submitted

Impeccable aesthetics, I love this turbulent displace effect on the stroke. I couldn’t resist, and the first thing I did was start scrolling... Anyway, I love how you’ve managed to build this game around such a creative concept. Congratulations!!! :D

Developer

It was my first time working with shaders for a jam, so I'm very happy you like our wibble wobble :DDD
Seems tempting even in fiction, huh? xD
Thank you so much!

Submitted

What you've managed to create here is incredible, the style is fantastic, the horror moments uncanny, and the combination of balancing stats while also watching all your stat balancers get corrupted by working too long on your essay is fantastic. I'll have to play a few more times to get more achievements, but you all made something amazing here!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much <3 We're very glad you're enjoying the game and wish you luck with getting all of the achievements :DDD

This essay literally killed me (one of three times). I had a great time with this and definitely want to go for all the endings! I also was genuinely concerned by the heartbeats, as well as the creepy art bits. Great job! The art style was creative and immersive, really sold the noir, and the control scheme was equal parts intuitive.

Developer

Yeah history of art tends to have that effect on people haha
We're glad that you had fun with our game!!
Thank you for checking it out <33

Submitted(+1)

This was very cool I liked it a lot :), I did manage to get a C probably could get better but I wanted to check out the other endings. I really resonated with the premise being a former engineering student lol. The heart rate stuff kinda spooked me, same for when the stair way became an endless pit and I couldn't back out. Very nice and to the point.

Video:

Developer

Thank you so much for sharing your playthrough with us! I had a great time watching it and your reaction to the stairs gave me a laugh
And you brought up an interesting point with the grades at the beginning. Our team is based in Poland and we're used to a slightly different grading scale. For this we decided to go with a simple F - fail, D - A - pass just to make the game understandable for the broader audience.

There's still a lot of stuff you haven't seen so if you ever feel like playing again you'd still have new things to surprise you :)

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our game!

man the use of color here is amazing, really awesome style in this game with a super creative premise! My only gripe is that it wasnt spooky at all :[ great game anyways!

Submitted(+1)

You definitely missed some stuff, there was some spooks there

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!

We know that our game isn't exactly scary, we were aiming for something more cozy with a slightly spooky undertone. We're glad that you enjoyed it anyway!

10/10 art style and as a former student writing a lot of scientific papers, I got elevated back to the dread of writing deadlines! I "died" quite a lot as I couldn't foretell if the next writing step would deplete one of the bars completely, maybe that's also the challenge to not go too far. Anyway I enjoy it a lot and will try to get all achievements. Long neck pigeon got me intrigued!

Developer

Thank you for the compliments! We're happy to hear you found our game relatable haha. And good luck with achievement hunting!

Submitted

ok I got an A but A+ is really hard. How do I acchieve the broken plate and zzz achievements? I'm out of my ideas and tried a lot, but to no avail.

Developer

Yeah A+ takes a lot of effort and even then you will just barely squeeze through. That's why it's an achievement haha
As for the other ones:
Zzz: Go to sleep on the couch as the first action of the run
Broken plate: Don't eat anything until the Time's up ending (won't count if you sleep on the couch)

Submitted(+1)

Love the artstyle and how colours are used to depict the moods! This is so unqiue imo!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed it!!

Very good game. The visual style is excellent. I especially appreciate how you managed to integrate the horror elements. There are many interesting interactions that you only notice on subsequent playthroughs.

Developer

Glad that you enjoyed our game!!
And we're happy to hear that you took the time to play multiple times <33
Thank you for the comment!

This is really charming and a very fun concept. I love the art style a lot! I did have a tough time noticing the UI for navigating to different rooms, and it wasn't immediately clear that I needed to click on the icon on the screen in order to do a writing minigame. Other than that, really well done and I love how many different things you can try.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you managed to figure it out and enjoy the game!
We wanted to encourage the player to experiment, that's why there are so many things (and achievements) :333 Cause, you know... Everything else seems interesting when you're supposed to study, hahah

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

This is really good! There's a lot of little interactions and changes depending on the MC's psyche, it's very well thought through. The art is amazing. This is one of the better games here for sure

I immediately went to doomscroll for 12 hours. Which is something I also do in real life so it's very relatable
I feel like I've had a couple episodes like this back in uni lol

Developer

We're happy to hear that you enjoyed it!

We're also glad that you found it relatable and that it reminded you of uni days (for better or worse lol). That's exactly the kind of fell we've been aiming for with this one.

Thank you for all the praise, it means a lot <33

GAHHHH I MADE IT TO 20/21 AND THEN RAN OUT OF TIME NOOOOOOOOO

ANYWAYS THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!! the art is literally perfect and the subtle horror elements are great! it is pretty difficult but never felt unfairly so. lost twice by accidentally clicking the bed LOL. first proper lost was due to a heart attack.

so many cool little details and gags like the realistic plant pot, your face in the mirror (at low health? or maybe its just a random event) and so on.

and the way the colours change, and when you get tired all the screen effects happen, and omg its all so well thought out!

this is above and beyond for a jam game! really awesome work and i can't wait to see what you guys pump out next!

and if you have the time it would be awesome if you guys could check out our game too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for such a high praise!! Your comment made our team so excited in the group chat <33

Ooof I feel your pain but still, great job getting that 20/21! And I'm glad you found the game challenging yet fair, that's exactly the sort of middle-ground we were hoping to reach.

Several members of our team have already been planning to play your game so watch out >:)

And if you're interested in more games made by our team I highly recommend checking out À la vôtre or Dziady :)

ou shi. i might have to play those games 😳

Very lovely game, incredible how many details are crammed in with such a small time frame. Kept going back to it cuz I was convinced there are bigger secrets with the electrical box, and while I got to see a lot of random stuff in the game I'm definitely still missing a lot. Forgot to take a screenshot of all my achievements before closing the browser x.x

Also, love the art style and general tone of the game, all the elements flows so well together to make something so cohesive :D

Developer

Thank you so much! Our art team did a truly amazing job here with the amount of assets and cohesiveness, I'm proud of them ❤️

My girlfriend said we should add a death from electricity if you click on the box too many times or something xD But it has its function!

Good that you spotted all of the random things, experimenting is highly encouraged in this title 🔥

Congrats on getting all of the achievements and thanks again for playing our game!

Submitted(+1)

The artwork was phenomenal and the story very relatable. I had a heart attack my first run lol. Good work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Who hasn't been there, right? I hope the achievement made up for the lost progress haha

(+1)

Really enjoyed playing through this one! Did a bunch of run throughs to see how many endings I could get. Artwork was also stunning!

Developer

Thank you <3 We're very happy thah you enjoyed it! How many did you manage to get? 👀
Btw, I had fun playing Danse Macabre last year :DDD

I think I got around 4 or 5 endings. Had to see what happened if I downed all the energy drinks haha. Thank you! Danse Macabre was really fun to work on :>

Submitted(+2)

Kafkaesque setting and style.  I really related to being a weirdo trapped in your apartment with something to do, but procrastinating.

Developer

Glad you found it relatable! I hope you enjoyed playing our little game <3

Submitted(+2)

Very beautifully made! Top visual style. Couldn't get a good grade, just like in real life.

Developer

Thank you so much! And let's be real... A+ may be the best grade, but when you have 12 hours only, anything that lets you pass is a good one <3 We're happy that you find this aspect of the game true to life haha

Submitted(+2)

beautifu! lovely art style, real life simulator lolz
loved the color palette and transition between levels. couldnt finish it but got close to the ending!
more spooky stuff would have been super sweet!~

Developer

We're glad that you liked it!!
Congrats on getting close to 100%, it is a bit of a challenge haha
Thank you for your feedback <33

The monochrome hard shadow style is an instant turn on! Animations are a great touch. Visual design and UX is S tier.
The game is probably NOT too hard, almost made it in 2nd walkthrough, but it was REALLY frustrating to screw all the progress up by looking into the mirror and ultimately get a bad ending at 19/21.
I like SOME of the environmental storytelling, but ultimately left me wanting a tiny bit more. The character remained a bit of a mystery to me and if there was a storyline to discover i didn't quite get that.
Discovering achievements felt nice. Though certainly you don't quite want to get some when you're playing to win. Like Heart Attack. Tho this one was easy to avoid and get in another playthrough

Developer(+1)

We're glad you enjoyed our game <33
And hey, 19/21 is a great score! Any grade higher than F is a good ending :) A+ is for overachievers haha
And no, we don't have a secret mysterious storyline to discover, the game is just about an average college student facing the horrors of an upcoming deadline. You didn't miss anything, don't worry :)
Happy to hear you had fun with the achievements, they are the true heart of our game
Thank you for such a detailed comment!
