Very good! It had a nice vibe, though i had some weird crackly audio glitch (or maybe it was intentional). Not necessarily scary but moody. Really liked it!

The sound design and music was fantastic. Combined with the graphics and tone, the game feels actually really scary. Especially in the beginning before any enemies appear I was always trying to watch my back for something. I was not expecting the first jumpscare when you open the curtains and the door closes behind you, that definitely got me. The first dead body wasn't all that scary but the second one definitely was disturbing. Very well done.

“You Were Able to Escape, but So Were the Demons.”

I loved the art style (the dithering effect worked well). However, I don’t think the character models used were very fitting. They kind of took me out of the experience because they looked so out of place.

I enjoyed all the puzzles. They were the perfect difficulty, not too easy, but also not too hard to the point of being frustrating.

The only issue I have is with using Esc to leave an inspection. There should be an alternative key bind for the WebGL build (like Space, maybe), since Esc exits full-screen mode. Other than that, I didn’t encounter any issues.

Great work!

I really enjoyed this one! I enjoyed the setting and how the narrative was presented through diary entries, plus points on that. The aesthetics were quite charming, and the puzzles were simple enough but a good way to keep the player paying attention.

All that aside, I did find some bugs/issues in the game (which, totally understandable if you missed them since it's a jam game): The pause menu didn't stop the CDE's from hunting me down, some weird camera lag in the browser version, and a few small grammatical errors in the diary entries.

Other than that, great work people!!

Great aesthetics and visuals and quite enjoyed the story as strange as it was! The characters/demons took me out of the immersion a little bit and clashed with the rest of the visuals but overall very solid! Great work!

I got really stuck on finding one of the keys, but it was super fun to play through in general! The story was fun and campy and it was overall a very enjoyable entry. The art style was super cute and I love that in a horror game every so often.

This straight up gives me The Shining vibes. Nice puzzles, fun gameplay loop. A simple concept but very well executed. Overall, a great entry. Well done!

A good entry. The whole experience was confining, and the monsters looked scary, even if they weren't as fast. The puzzles were too easy to figure out in my opinion. I thought the game could've used one or two jumbscares for when the first monster appears for example.

nice art direction and audio; loved how the dithering effect works on the flashlight!
enjoyed the story as well!

Why is this actually scary tho 😭

Really like the game and eerie atmosphere. Amazed that you created this game within 7 days. Great job!

Had a lot of fun solving the puzzles are i really enjoyed the look and feel of everything! I was looking out the window in one of the rooms and I really liked how the outside looked as well! I appreciate the work you put into that. Made me want to go explore out there too!

The demons in the hallway scared me way more than they should of, making the music play when the turned the corners was a nice touch! And I appreciate how forgiving they were because it wasnt easy avoiding them on a track pad ;_: still created a ton of tension! Great game!

Very cool, beat the game ✌︎㋡. I did notice that music didn't loop after a while? ( might've been from my alt tabbing ) and a typo from Damien's journal "I had to take they key". I enjoyed the SMT like stuff in the logs, was seriously surprised when you responded to Edoardo and said it wasn't a reference/ inspiration. I think the puzzle design was actually good. I think the main drawback is that the demons chasing stops being scary for a while because you can just out run them pretty easily and I don't think they'll go into rooms. Maybe having one scarier monster with more aggressive patterns could work out better because the rest was quite good.

Once again, thank you! Wow, now I’m really intrigued to play the SMT games. I loved Persona 3 & Metaphor. I honestly had no idea, the whole Cyber Demon inspiration comes more from cheesy 80s horror movies.

I like the graphics and sounds design a lot!

Certainly very strong and interesting atmosphere although i also have to admit the "chibi" style jumpscare was "off putting" in a tonal whiplash-kinda way

Might just be a coincidence but the digital devil shtick reminded of SMT

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, I’ll replace the chibi characters with some more fitting ones. I only played Persona yet, totally want to give SMT a try really soon.

This is really well done! Very polished for a game jam, it looks great and the puzzles are cool. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the surprisingly deep narrative. My only note is that the chibi character models clash a little with the rest of the visuals and horror theme, but it's not a big issue. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I agree, the character design doesn’t fit the game very well. I’ll work to change that for a future version :) Thanks for the feedback!

very cool atmosphere, floor of the hotel feels very much like the shining. i liked the puzzles where they made you think, but it was quite frustrating having to do the puzzles while being chased. very solid game though!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the video! That was very helpful

I was not prepared for the chibi-style characters, but it was fun! Good little game

Developer

Yeah, I’m not really happy with the character design in the context of this game. They don’t fit super well, I’ll most likely change them for something different in the future

Really cool atmosphere to this one, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and kept spooking me
