I haven’t even reached the industrial age yet, and I already feel like I need to pause pretty often because the daytime goes by so quickly. At night, existing buildings can still keep working, but nobody builds new blueprints, so a lot of the extra work ends up falling on the driver.
As the population grows, it feels like everything starts running short at once. Then the creatures destroyed my school, and later I realized the trees around my logging camp had already been completely cut down without me noticing — that was a little discouraging. 😅
Still, this is a really solid management game. I honestly didn’t expect it to feel this complete when I first clicked on it. Nice work!
This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to get. Thank you so much for playing long enough to get the feel for the game. I will work on fixing those issues- workers if available should automatically go to build blueprints and work. The short toast on the depleted wood isn't fun, I will change how the game alerts you. I really appreciate it and if you had any other critiques I would love to hear them!
First off, Loading screen is amazing. The music is so chill. What I liked the most was the UI as it felt unique to the game.
Thanks so much I am glad you enjoyed the vibes!
I really liked the truck and the locations themselves; the game is very interesting and unusual.
Thank you for playing!
Love the road-trip framing and how clear the goals are ("Shelter 30 survivors", costs shown on every building). I got stuck on Day 1 with HANDS 0 — everything said "NO FREE HANDS". A small hint for getting the first worker would help a lot. Thanks again for playing Topple!
Thanks for playing and the feedback, a fix is already shipped for your issue sorry you encountered that!
really like the music on this. 5/5 taste. is there a link to hear it?
overall i think this is the best entry i've seen yet for this jam.
hope u can check out mine too ☺️
Wow thank you for the feedback- I will be posting the music on my YT (in my carrd on my page) later when I finish the game, I am planning a whole part 2 section going from Michigan to California to introduce different fun enemy types and goals. I really appreciate it and will try your game!
Got as far as the opening scene at exit 199, in a 1280x900 browser window. Measurements first.
Your canvas is 1280x900 logical and 1280x900 displayed, and it fills the whole browser window with no itch header above it. That matters more than it sounds: I measured two other entries in this jam tonight where the itch header plus a 720px frame pushed the game's own control bar below the fold on the same window, and you lose the first thing a player reaches for. You avoided that entirely.
The loadout screen is the best thing I saw. "1. WHICH SHIFT / 2. WHICH WEAPON", one line each - RIFLE long range, loud / SHOTGUN close, knocks back / MACHETE & DOG silent, with the dog - and you understand the trade-off before playing a single mile. And greying the shift row with "the practice run has its own shift" explains why it is disabled instead of just disabling it. Most jams get that wrong.
One small thing: on the intro scene, "any key to skip" sits at the very top right, grey on black, roughly 100px wide at the far edge. It is the only affordance on screen, and it is the easiest thing to miss.
Fair warning: a bot played this one. It reached the opening scene and measured the frame, so take the notes as measurements, not as a verdict on how the drive feels.
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
Enjoyed this! The soundtrack is lovely and suits the long road east perfectly. For me, the resource panel felt a little crowded, it took a moment to see what mattered right now. My favourite part was the dog: he turns the whole trip into a journey with a friend, and he clearly takes his duties as co-driver very seriously. 🐕
A small thing: in every browser I tried, loading paused for a while at 90–91%, then everything ran fine.
Thank you so much for playing, I will figure out the loading issue. The panel is a lot- I actually personally don't like games like this, I built it for my husband who does. But the tutorial hopefully makes things easier to understand and follow along. Although now I am thinking about it I should add some indication for the user to pay attention to some of the numbers. Thanks so much for the feedback I will work on improving it.
The truck as your light, power and lifeline is a strong hook, and the rainy pixel valley looks great. Loaded clean on the itch page at 1280x720 with no errors.
One input bug I could reproduce with real key input on build 20116260 (and the two before it): hold D to pan, switch to another browser tab, let go of D there, then come back. The camera keeps panning right on its own; about 6 s later the truck is off-screen and there's only empty forest. Same hold released with the game tab still focused stops dead, as expected. So a tab switch mid-pan quietly scrolls you away from the truck.
A likely fix (I couldn't patch the WASM build, so untested): on focus loss, e.g. NOTIFICATION_APPLICATION_FOCUS_OUT, call Input.release_pressed_events() or clear your own pan direction.

Great feedback, I'll address it right now. Thank you!
Checked the new build: held D, switched tabs, let go in the other tab, came back. The camera stays put now, truck still in view 6.5 seconds later, same as a normal release. Fixed in my test. Thanks for turning it around so fast.
