Such a simple but great game! I did enjoy the lock puzzle a lot, and the tension on doing it quick does make it stressful enough that it was rewarding to actually beat the game. Fun game and goofy story!

I did it! The artstyle is awesome and I like how the music intensifies the atmosphere! The puzzles felt just hard enough and I enjoyed the whole game. This is a very solid entry, good job.

Short and sweet point-and-click game, though I lost the first round thinking the game was a strict point-and-click and thus being unable to move, allowing the monster to catch up. The sliding puzzle has a bit of challenge to it, but not to the point where it felt frustrating. The audio does make the whole game really tense, leading me to misclick more than usual. In that sense, well done. The hand-drawn graphics look nice, but the star of the show was definitely the writing. It made me laugh quite a few times. Anyway, well done on making the game!

Other things I like:

  • The monster design is nice
  • "Use a gun" (said with Engineer's voice)

Suggestions:

  • Not sure what the inventory system is doing in the game. If it's not doing anything, it might be worth removing it instead
  • Make it so that going in and out of the room won't reset the monster's movement. It's funny but felt a bit out of place, and took away the immersion from otherwise a nice atmosphere
  • Allowing mouse click to control player movement would be nice

Thank you for the kind words! It really means a lot!

The inventory system really didn't have much of a purpose aside from the key, but we just put it in because we thought it'd be a neat little detail for fun.

Also, it's interesting that the monster's position is resetting for you when leaving and re-entering the room because it wasn't doing that during our testing. I suppose we'll have to look into that.

I dont want to admit that it took me way too long to find the key. Overall a very nice art style, and i loved the sliding puzzles so much i got Professor Layton flashbacks Xd

Thanks for playing! I actually had Professor Layton in mind when we decided there were going to be puzzles.

fun fact

When searching drawers and the couch, the items appear in a prescribed order with the key being in the last place you check.

Thank you so much! For the parts of writing I helped with, I made sure to include references to two of my favorite horror movies lol

Hi ! I like the atmosphere with the (really cool) drawing and music loop, and the monster is both scary and funny :)

I like the gameplay but it feels like the game doesn't really get all my mouse movements ? I couldn't really find a way to escape the monster either, I'd be curious to get a solution 0_0

Thank you so much! We didn't run into any issues with the mouse on our end, but maybe it has to do with different browsers or something. Was it in a specific area or when doing a certain type of movement or action?

There might be something useful in the basement!
