When Chapter 5 ends, the game does not let you finish.

The screen fades, and then — you are back in the late-night room from Chapter 1. The same stack of old workbooks on the desk. The same film re-release trailer on the television. The clock still reads 23:47.

The first time, you'll assume it's a bug. Or some kind of easter egg.

By the second time, the third time, you understand: Yuki is repeating.

This mirrors one of the most characteristic signs of Alzheimer's — repeated questions and statements: unable to retain what they have just said or asked, a person will repeat the same words again and again, entirely unaware that they are doing so.

And that is the heart of the design:

He doesn't know he's repeating. You're the one who notices.

At seventy, Yuki can't return to the present. Recent memory is going; distant memory remains — so he goes back, over and over, to those nights between 1989 and 2019. To him it isn't repetition. It's the part he can still reach.

You stand outside the screen and watch him pick up that photo frame for the fourth time, and say the same line for the fourth time: "He poured so much into writing these — and so much regret."

That gap in awareness — he has none, you have all of it — is where the whole design gets its weight.

just run game

You can try it out for free. The $55 is set aside so you can purchase more of the story when designing Chapter 5. Overall, the highlight of this game is using Skills to design your own custom gameplay.

Easy to Learn, Hard to Master: The initial levels feel like a straightforward physics game, but predicting trajectories quickly becomes demanding. Because of how gravity interacts with bounce angles, simply mashing directional keys can easily cause the ball to spin out of control. Success requires precise tapping and an intuitive sense of momentum, similar to flight adjustment games.

Diverse Brick Types:

Standard & Tough: Classic bricks break in 1 hit, while Tough Bricks require 3 hits.
Utility Bricks: Destroying these grants extra lives, additional Boost charges, or bounce height modifiers.
Dynamic Hazards: Features rhythmically blinking bricks that vanish and reappear, wall-less levels where the ball wraps around screen edges, and unbreakable obstacle bricks.
High-Stakes Satisfaction: Clearing a level with only seconds left on the clock and zero Boosts remaining—by landing one last precise mid-air correction—delivers an intense rush of accomplishment and flow.

The greatest charm of this game doesn't lie in the storyline of Chapters 1 through 4, but in giving every player the power to design their own memories into Chapter 5 using Skills—this is how I define the 'Second Brain'. I truly believe that your life is a fascinating story to me. What I mean is that you need to use Skills to design the Chapter 5 storyline in a way that connects seamlessly to my game. This signifies a turning point in the protagonist's fate, where any player's memory will become the most captivating part of the story.

Thank you so much!

Beautiful work!

The origin story of Recipe Frenzy is wonderfully warm and full of real-life humor, perfectly showcasing the charm of indie game development: blending genuine personalities and everyday experiences into mechanics design.

The greatest charm of this game doesn't lie in the storyline of Chapters 1 through 4, but in giving every player the power to design their own memories into Chapter 5 using Skills—this is how I define the 'Second Brain'. I truly believe that your life is a fascinating story to me.

I developed it with Claude, but all the game elements were personally reviewed and created by me. Since these are my own memories, it draws from over 30 years of personal stories.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’ve also added instructions on how to switch languages so that every player can enjoy the best possible experience.
