Characterful details, and that makes for good setting. I'm not sure I follow the 'painted apricots' etc.... but I mean, I should, it's totally the sort of craft that goes alongside a farmer's fair sort of thing. It seems there isn't the boring option to try sending the letter through the mail, despite the dialogue (though maybe that is what going to the 'house' ruins is an attempt at, I assume the characters just aren't that impersonal.)

The AI -> Pixel backgrounds also have really nice palettework & drama to them, whatever your process was, and you have a nice variety of Kchars.

It all serves the premise and seems to carry pretty well. On that note... I suppose it may be part of the nature of this game, that we don't know how low the sister Anne's situation went (run off and fall into trouble, catch a better break but never surface to family, suicide?), or even just exactly what the narrator's next moves are, either.

In a way, that might be more of the choice one has, then the 'be pushy or resigned or 'reasonable'' choices that all end up leading to the same revelation.

Music works for ambience, except the chip is just a bit too shrill for ongoing listens.

Good drama in the visuals, which were clearly a lot of work. The default 'calm' song that ships with the engine is so annoying, I just muted the game (which made it the same as most of them.) Some fun lines, and it's true that turning your room over looking for something, you can look the same place twice to the same irritation.

Lovely immersive game. Very cool graphics and I like the worldbuilding (or destroying, I guess?) I only got to 4 endings... should I somehow get to more (like 16 somehow! and the extended dialogue with the Glass candidates?)? I think there are a few places where spell-check/grammar-check could be slightly helpful.

I think my main problem, though, is that it took me a while to follow along with Dubuku vs Nergui, their relative positions, and position overall. Do you play as Dubuku, second to Nergui, who is under the Grand Sage, the whole time? Something like that?

Also, I'm no good at rating things...

Thanks! Though it does seem sadly, I'm likely going to finish the longer one... too late for the jam. But I should submit something!

I'm hoping to submit two stories-- one shorter that I'm submitting elsewhere, and another that hopefully I get done by Monday morning. I assume this works? Thanks so much!

Thanks!

Thanks! Is there a way to delete characters from a project, especially if they aren't used? Or to change the order they are in / called by the script?

And how can I export characters from Studio itself?

Thanks again!

Good to know, though, since I'm more likely to make a visual novel than a real RPG, even if it has an overhead map...

Hm... My impression is Starlit is asking about a game whose interface is entirely text, and artistotel is talking about a game whose character-actions are basically responding to text. Though... come to think of it, I'm not sure how to tell between the two-- lots of visual novels can have stats + repeated loops, so it's not just a dialogue tree, and if you aren't displaying a map in your text interface, ...

Submitted Saturday, but some bugs fixed, some reintroduced, right before due date. Will lay off from touching until judging done now.
