I reckon you could really elevate this by inverting the balance between strings and harp at some point - like really strip away those strings and just give us the harp. Both pieces of this track are really lovely, and they shine together - but could they shine on their own?
That harp is so soft I love it. Sits so nice with the choir. Definitely do get a cloudlike vibe from this with the instrumentation. Pretty composition! Nice work.
this was nice! it had a good build-up and climax, which kept it interesting. only thing i might suggest (and take this with a grain of salt as i have virtually no experience when it comes to orchestral music) is i would try playing around with some percussion to help add some more energy. other than that, it was an enjoyable listen, congrats!
I like the choice of using harp as a solo instrument among the textural bed of the strings and choir. It almost gives me older Final Fantasy vibes with the soundfonts. I think more countermelodies in terms of independent melodic and harmonic lines (even just changing up the rhythm a bit) could improve the orchestration of your track. Also, less quantizing on the strings, especially with that cello/string bass, could add more emotion and more of a smoother feel to the chord movements. Good job!
Great piece. I love the string lines and the addition of the harp. I also love the vocals, giving it a more ethereal feel.
Thank you very much, I liked adding the harp and choir in this too!
Such a beautiful piece, especially enjoyed the choir!
Thank you for enjoying my work.
I like this piece, well done! The string writing is lovely, and I think it could have been made a bit fuller with more counterpoint and a bit of viola + cello to accompany the two violin parts. Next time, perhaps add more dynamic variation too, so it feels a bit less one-note. I loved the key change moment, and the harp usage is very tasteful throughout. Good work, and keep writing!
Thanks for the feedback!
Great work, a very solid orchestral composition, I especially like the harp part! It fits the image theme well but I would have liked to have a bit of context for the track.
Congratulations, Drizlikh!
As a listener, I had an interesting experience. It evoked a sense of nostalgia and really intrigued me about what was coming next.
As a musician, I really liked the way the music seems to tell a story. The instrumentation was excellent! However, I felt the string writing sounded a bit too raw. Also, the voicing sounded cluttered. If those aspects were refined—and combined with a good mix—the result would be even better!
In any case, it was great to hear your creation ;)
Thank you for your feedback! I agree the strings and choir needed a bit of refinement, and I composed this on a whim to get it into submission.
