Pretty nicely-made game given the time constraints. The slowdown when turning on the flashlight is pretty understandable (nowhere near enough time for optimization), but, if you’re interested, I remember reading this thing about a relatively efficient way of implementing that sort of algorithm a few years ago, in case it is of any interest https://ncase.me/sight-and-light/

Anywho, well done!

Thank you! Yeah, I really needed to localize MP grid chunk updates, would have been a 20 minute implementation but I ran out of time. Thanks for playing!

The atmosphere is top notch, this is extremely polished considering the timeframe. I'm really bad at spotting the monster, so I only lasted one minute tops, but this is really impressive. Great job!

Thank you very much!

Nice use of lighting and audio sounds sets a tense atmosphere. Good submission

Thanks!

Really liked this, particularly the way the light is obscured by walls. Seemed a bit easy to me as the monsters are visible even when the light is off (I know you only see the eyes). Maybe I'm just good at spotting things though... In any case, a very nice entry.

Really tense as you get further in (made it to 95 seconds). This is really good for 3 hours. Does the audio relate to the enemy's position?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yes, the audio gets louder and faster the closer the enemy is.

I wasn't sure if there was an end time or not, got to 125 sec on my second run.

Nice! You were close, its a 3 minute timer. It was next on the list to implement but ran out of time.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and mechanics of the game! It was exciting to hear the enemy approaching.  Some kind of indicator would have been a nice addition so I would have known how long I had to survive.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the countdown to morning was next up on the list but ran out of time (wanted to finish in the allotted 3 hours). Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!
