Because I am working later, I have updated the game to version 2.3.1. If you want to play the submitted version 1.2, then download the game.
An updated walkthrough video has also been made.
Thanks, everyone, for the feedback
Fun little game. I enjoyed the aesthetic. As another post said, after killing an enemy, the explosion can linger and kill the player. Other than that, I really enjoyed this one.
Outstanding game. Had to mark you down overall because of the time taken, but very enjoyable. I love the secret passages, with windows so you can see yourself even though you're behind the scenery. There are different enemies which behave in different ways. Brilliant! My only gripe is that after you kill a blob, the hit box remains while the explosion is happening.
Whilst the voting is underway, updates are being pushed to In Development. Already used feedback to replace bosses' bland bullets with creepy tentacles.
Looking much better, nicely done :)
Cool enemy variety and I always love the dualtone art style, feels retro and clean. Had a lot of fun, but at poor Bob's bodily health. Great job (:
Without the solution video, I never would have found that group of 4 coins. And yeah, the explosion still killing me after it was over, was very frustrating. But over all great job!
I really liked the soundscape together with atmosphere and the game was fun to play. Sometimes I died even though it seemed like the enemy's "bomb" animation had already ended. I liked the final enemy. Its bullets were a bit lost in the background so they could have been a more visible. Also some feedback on when the enemy was hit would have been nice. All in all, a really great whole :)
Thank you for the great feedback:
I think you found a bug in the blob enemy character. It might be that the collider is still active after it dies while the explosion is going on. I will look into it. (The blob enemy was added just before submission closed; you can see this because the solution video does not have the blob enemies in it.)
I know what you mean by final bosses' bullets. Tbh, it was a bit hacky in them spanning randomly. I wanted them to spawn spirally, but I would have to learn how to do it.
Feedback, something I know was missing, but I didn't have enough time to do. I certainly want to improve boss fight feedback, even something as simple as the hit sound with the dangers. I am planning on adding boss death animation.
