Reminds me of Deadhunt, where you're just going in circles and killing enemies over and over again. That fits the theme pretty well. I think more visuals and effects would make it more satisfying, but the movement of the character feels smooth. Well done!
Thanks for your feedback! I hope you enjoyed the game as much as we enjoyed making it! If we continue to update it, then we’ve already talked about making the game more visual compelling with extra effects both with sound and other aspects. :D
Character movement was smooth & weapons were fun to use.
Thanks for the compliments :)
I like the small detail of camera tilting when moving left/right, really adds to the polish of the game. Movement is pretty good and nice that there is a sensitivity slider. Weapon sounds are pretty good as well.
Thank you so much! It means a lot :)
Good controls on your FPS there! Smooth movement, weapon, all that. Would like some quicker transitions but overall its a solid arena horde shooter. Thanks for sharing :D
Thank you for playing! What do you mean by faster transitions? Do you mean like loading times?
Ah, I should have said 'faster progression' - I got good at the first horde pretty fast and wanted to get to the next challenge right away. Sorry for being a bit opaque with that comment!
Aaah I see. I honestly agree, but the final version of the game got submitted like 5 minutes before the deadline, so I didn't have time to playtest and change it to progress faster sadly :')
Hey, no worries. Its an impressive feat just to get something playable, and you went waaay further! GG
Honestly a super simple hoard shooter5 that can be quite addictive. I love the style you where going for.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
movement is amazing i would only fix is the rocket launcher should be after the sniper
Thank you! I spent a good amount of time tweaking the movement, so I'm happy you enjoyed it :)
Nice character controller :)
Thank you for the compliment :D
Nice FPS controller , I would probably change the sudden tweak when strafing into w tween so it's not that jarring. I'm also assuming the yellow balls are enemy spawns but I wasn't sure if I can kill them ;D
Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to make the camera rotate more smoothly when strafing in a post jam update, along with making the enemy spawn indicators better :)
Fast arena FPS is always a good formula to go, love the polish and all the weapons you did there !
Thank you! I've always been a big fan of arena shooters, so getting to make one for this jam was a lot of fun :D
I played a lot of arena survival games like this as a kid so this feels right at home for me :D
The movement feels great and the different enemy types are well done (but screw the mummies, they're laser accurate with their throws haha). I wish you could rocket jump but maybe that's just me being nostalgic. My best score is 209 with the rocket launcher.
Omg a Pikmin! Thank you for your feedback mr madam miss sir Pikmin.
Thanks for playing! I've also always been a big fan of arena shooters, so getting to work on one for this jam was a lot of fun :) I wanted to make the player able to rocket jump, but that would mess with the balance a bit, so I ended up not doing it :/ Also, you got a really high score, I trust you when you say you've played a lot of games like this xD
This game was some good fun! The movement felt very well tuned, felt a lot like the movement of the modern Doom games which is a very high compliment. Loved the pacing of the game and very satisfying to rip through enemies with the rocket launcher and the SMG. I think the Shotgun could've done with more spread and pierce and the sniper was frankly underwhelming for a final weapon. That being said, this is a remarkably well polished game. The visual style was fun and the BGM added to the hype of the game. All in all, loved it!
Congrats on the submission, and well done!
Thank you so incredibly much for your kind words! Being compared to the modern Doom games is a big honor ha ha. In a post launch update, I'll work on rebalancing the weapons, including giving the shotgun bigger spread, and also making the sniper easier to use :) Thanks again for the kind words :D
I was skeptical about the sniper at first, but when enemies started pouring in I was surprised how effective it became.
I'm glad you found out how effective it is! When designing it, I wanted it to be the hardest weapon to learn, but also one that would become better and better the further the player got, but not a lot of players played enough to find out its potential, so many didn't think it was that good. Thanks for playing :D
Fast-paced FPS with enemies in an arena? A winning formula!
ha ha, I'm glad you liked it :D I've always been a big fan of this type of game, so it was a lot of fun working on it :)
Nice game, really fun to play and the variety of weapons adds a lot to the enjoyment. Couldn't get to 150 to unlock the final weapon unfortunately. Only point I would change is that even in the lowest setting for my sensitivity the camera still felt too fast. Good job, great entry for the jam!
Thanks for playing! I admit that I really fumbled with the sensitivity. I always use a high sensitivity, and none of my playtesters mentioned it before the jam ended, so I didn't notice :/ Thanks for the comment :)
A lot of fun playing this one! My only issue was I had to constantly check my backside!
Thank you! In a post jam update, we'll work on making enemies more obvious, even when behind the player :)
Good entry for the Jam ^^
It was a basic shooter, I liked the different monster mecanics, and the different guns. Just it feels like the theme was justified through lore rather than gameplay, which misses the point of the jam a bit. But I still enjoyed playing !
Congrats!
Thanks for the feedback! We tried to make each enemy and weapon distinct from each other, so I'm happy you liked them :) At the beginning of development, the gameplay had more to do with the theme, but due to the game not being that fun with that gameplay idea, we scrapped it and turned the game into a more basic shooter.
I really enjoyed this. Trying each weapon for first time and trying beat beat scores with other weapons (my best was rocket) It is a shame the spawn indicator is just a yellow sphere and not an asset but that is a minor criticism. Well done!
Thank you so much for playing! We're gonna be updating the game after the jam, and making the spawn indicator not just be a sphere will definitely be one of the changes :)
I liked the variety of monsters and weapons. Maybe you get weapons too quickly, but that's not really a problem. Good job!
Thanks for commenting! I think the weapons get unlocked to quickly too, but since it's a gamejam and it isn't guarenteed that people play each game for very long, I made them faster to unlock than I otherwise would have so more people could unlock them. After the jam I'll probably make them harder to unlock :)
I enjoyed the game. Nice.
Thank you for playing!
I like the gameplay, and the models of the guns are cool!! You could have implemented the theme in a more interesting way though, maybe some kind of special ability that involves loops.
Thank you! Our 3D modeler is indeed very talented ha ha. At the beginning of development, the gameplay had more to do with the theme, but due to the game not being that fun with that gameplay idea, we scrapped it and turned the game into a more basic shooter.
