How does your game fit the theme?
The two little creatures find themselves in an infinite loop, and thus must {BREAK;} out of the loop through the logical means of making an infinity symbol with their tails!

very uniuqe art style and i love the mechnics!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the artstyle of the game!

Submitted(+1)

Very cute little creatures and I love the infinity symbol they make! The controls and platforms were done well too. I just wish there were some more interactions/mechanics based around both the characters. Right now it just feels like play one character at a time to find the break point.

Developer

Yep definitely lacks in any sort of meaningful gameplay mechanics, thanks for trying it out though! glad you liked the characters :3

Submitted(+1)

The game is nicely done, and love the overall aesthetic feel in the game. Would love to see a bit more mechanics you can do with the second character (or what unique things it can do), but other than that, nice to see how it integrates into your narrative. Well done :)

Developer

Thanks! Happy you liked the aesthetic, i was indeed planning on making more two player mechanics but ran outta time, classic :P

Submitted(+1)

Really liked the game! The visual, the art, the audio, its perfect. I enjoyed the game very much! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked the art!

Hey I love your artstyle and the little creatures are really pretty, the button layout is well thought out. I wish the creatures interacted more between each other in order to progress cause i found it easier to control one of them to find a break; and then navigate the other one using the calling mechanic. It would be interesting that in order to reach certain break points you needed to clear the way for each other or something that required the coordination of handling both creatures at once because it's not clear to me that that is required in order to progress and seems like a missed opportunity. I did enjoy the game though so congrats

Developer

Thanks for giving the game a try! Yeah definitely there shouldve been more two player mechanics, really wanted to add em but had to time crunch the gameplay due to overscope, anyways glad you like the art at least!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool entry! Nice mechanics with the two creatures :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the entry!

I will give constructive criticism:

+the game looks neat

+the idea is nice

+the platforming part is satisfying

-the text can sometimes not be intelligible while looking from afar (like the one at the screen)

-the map doesn't really help you

Nice game tho

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah definitely couldve used some more time making it playable

Submitted(+1)

i got softlocked... lmao... blue ferret glitched through the floor and i couldnt move either of them...

you did say id softlock your game to be fair.

i think i got the gist tho, you gotta find the break points and communicate with yourself to find each other. cute. it gave me outer wilds vibes and that game is phenomenal so your vibes were on point. movement was really buggy but like... the vibes...

Developer

Hehe i knew thered be a chance you get softlocked.. But hey im glad you vibe with it at least :D

This was very cool! I loved the way the creatures interact, they felt very real... Also the Rain World inspo is pretty visible, but it's done well!

Sadly I couldn't reach the end of the game as one creature fell under the map, but I liked what I played! Good job!

I forgot to add, the creatures colors are sorta similar if you are colorblind, so I would suggest making them more distinct!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying the game out! Definitely rainworld may have been a bit to much inspiration lol. Anyways no worries the game doesnt have much of a satisfying end anyway due to time crunching the gameplay. Also intersting feedback on the colorblindness, definitely not something id wouldve thought to take into account :>

Submitted(+1)

So apparently some people can just make rain world 2 whenever they feel like it, this gets a holy macaroni from me, wow. Sure, gameplay leaves something to be desired but it's just so cool and fun to control the two little not so slug cats, I really liked the music and the setting, despite the environment being very simple it still gave me that alien but old cozy broken down vibe that rain world has, just incredible, great work! (amazed you got controls and visuals to work so similar to the slug cat aside from knocking yourself out from high falls lol)

Developer

Glad you think so highly of the game! Making rain world is a cheat code :> Anyways yep if only the gameplay wasnt stale itd be epic

Submitted(+1)

I love this! The characters are cute! I love the art style and the character designs, it's a pretty fun concept as well. A minimap would be helpful, but overall, great job!

- Kairosolo

Developer

Glad you liked the art! yeah i wish i managed to have enough time to add my a minimap of sorts, definitely wouldve helped out a bunch :p

Submitted(+1)

What?! That is the most polished game I've played so far. Insane artwork, narrative, and design. If I had to pick something apart - the level design is really confusing, which is kinda the point, but a minimap or something would have made it a lot less of a hassle and more of a puzzle.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely the level design shouldve been something i allocated more time to :> Shouldnt have rushed my gameplay on the final day but alas time crunch always gets us

Submitted(+1)

A fun concept but wished more time went into the level design - the amount of pitfalls that took forever to correct - combined with a lack of hero assets to locate yourself and a small area you could see, Navigating always lingered a small annoyance. The procedural physics based animations are amazing though!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! Level design shouldve definitely had more time spent on it yeah had only spent about like 5 hours background concepting it then refining and making it. Glad to hear you liked the procedural animations though! It's my first time making a platformer so kinda rusty in this genre still :>

The vibe and atmosphere of the game felt amazing! The solo co-op brought me back to the trying to beat fireboy and watergirl by myself days lmfao. Sometimes the movement on the poles felt a bit janky (especially trying to jump off of them), but overall it felt pretty clean. I had an enjoyable playthrough!

Developer

Nice to hear that the vibe was great! Definitely the poles couldve used a bit more work bu, great to hear you liked the looks though!

Submitted(+1)

So Rainworld but split screen self-coop. Brothers A Tale of Two Sons has prepared me for this :>. Quite cute, pixel art is pretty cute, movement is tough but literal Rainworld, at least here nothing (I think) is out to eat you. Would be neat if you can actual co op (or like me with my brother sharing the keyboard XD). Time limit is pretty generous I think, with most of the challenge being navigation and platforming. The little yelp helps with finding where you are, though the level is pretty big

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed the splitscreening concept! Hehe you could totalyyyy share a keyboard! shouldve made the time limit 1 second, wouldve been gud :3

1 second... Hello police officer, it's this one here

Definitely not Rain World, kek. A very solid entry, I liked the style and vibes. I have some thoughts though:

  • The movement in general felt quite fluid but horizontal poles were tedious to use (I had to spam the jump button but still they were unpredictable)
  • Maybe having an indicator of total loops would be nice? I don’t even know how close I was to finishing the game when I gave up (found the break point but timed out while getting the second slugc- uh, furloop there)
  • Not sure about having to run around the map in search of the break points, especially under a time limit. Maybe some environmental storytelling could make it more interesting

The intro cutscene was quite nice by the way. Nicely done!

Developer

Glad you liked the looks of the game! Yeah horizontal poles are definitely a bit of a wild card and gameplays kinda stale due to time crunch, hope it waasnt too bad though! glad you liked the slu- furloops

Submitted(+1)

I did not understand right off the bat what the relation to the theme, 'LOOP' was. If it is playing the same level again and again then I am not really to into it.

Gameplay wise, the platforming is a bit jank sometimes, I ran through bugs too I suppose, but not too bad neither.

The game is visually really cool and the sfx and music are well integrated and fits the mood.

All in all I wish there was a different approach to the theme.

Good stuff, and good luck.

Developer

Very reasonable feedback :D yeah definitely wouldve wanted to do some aspects better especially the gameplay, but alas the power of overscoping has affected me, hope ill do better with that next time! iill take it with this being my first 4 day jam ;P

Submitted(+1)

This is quite a charming little game!
:)

I like the twist of the split-screen.
I wasn't expecting anyone to attempt that for a game jam.
At first I wondered why the split screen made a difference; but then I figured it out.
I usually spent more time trying to find the other furloop than I did trying to find breakpoints!
Also, the random spawns + split screen gives twice as much opportunity for discovering the breakpoints - so that is nice.

Overall, very good job!
I rated it higher than your self-evaluation on Discord.
;)

Only 3 **minor** things that affected my experience:
1) I glitched my 2nd breakpoint by, I think, putting the furloops on the wrong side? while making the infinity symbol, one of them shot off to the side of the room, and then they both just stay stuck like that;
2) I found the horizontal beams really hard to use - the furloops just kept jump-spasming and falling through them;
3) the gameplay felt a little stale/repetitive after about 5 breakpoints - I think it would have been good to have something "mix up" the formula every few cycles to keep it fresh.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try! Yeah i was originally planning on actually adding proper gameplay loop but had sadly ran outta time so i had tobring out a minimum viable product :p glad you enjoyed though!

Loved the slugca- uhhh, furloops, they're so cute

Developer
