Fun idea! Very cute artstyle. A very nice implementation of the theme. Great job overall!!
i really like the art style, very cute.
Not the biggest fan of the gameplay (I suck at timing my dashes ;-;), but regardless this is a very well made entry! Very good take on the theme! Visuals and Audio is nice, and fighting in a spinning office chair is VERY SERIOUS. Great Job!
Fair enough lol, gameplay is quite hard. Thanks for the feedback :>
I had a lot of fun with this game! I love these types of simple yet challenging control schemes and the way you had to dance around enemies was great. The spin speed, dash distance, dash cooldown, and invul times are nicely tuned which made the character feel responsive. Plus I really appreciate that you added the trail on enemies and the player. Enemy AI was just the right level of complex as you're fighting against the controls and the way they die is very fun :) Otherwise, I've got a few specific notes I'll leave below:
In conclusion, I chair a lot.
Thanks for all the great feedback! I will try to implement these features after the jam in one way or another :D thank u for chairing alot :)
This is presented and plays pretty well. It was a little frustrating at first trying to aim yourself, but once the moving enemies came it became easier, for some reason. Satisfying to dash and weave between enemies and bonk them. Fun and silly and cool take on the theme, well done!
this is a great idea and very fun with much potential! midway through i did realize it's kind of possible to cheese everything by continually dashing into the wall and letting enemies dash into you until they die though ._.
Cool and fun idea!
Loved it!
Since getting hit and dealing damage both happen on contact it was unclear to me what the condition was to determine whether I get hit or I deal damage. (probably something about speed, but sometimes I would still get hit when really fast)
Other than that minor thing it's really good :DD
Thanks for the feedback :D yea so if you're dashing you can deal dmg, but otherwise you can't, and you can take dmg. But honestly the lines between the 2 are hard to discern, especially if you're still going fast but dash has technically 'ended' so u get hit. Thanks for pointing that out
A very cool game! The sound design, art and music were nice. The concept was interesting.
I think the chair spinning could be executed a bit better.
For example, instead of the chair spinning constantly and you having to wait for a long time which doesn't feel good. You can still keep the "time the chairs rotation to attack" part by leaving the chair 's continuous spin, but instead you can press RMB to switch the direction of the spin with a slight spin speed boost at the start and then timing the dash.
It would make dashing a bit more deliberate but also it won't take away the spin part. Basically think of it as the player kicking the ground to change spin direction with a slight boost. This way you can still have the slowly timed continuous spin dash. But by being slightly more skilled you can have a better control of the movement.
Edit: idk if it's deliberate but you kind of have a "deflect/parry" system honestly. Basically by clicking dash just before the enemy hits you, you can avoid being hit and possibly hit back instead? (You should've added a hit flash effect to more clearly see when you actually do damage to enemies)
Thanks for the great feedback! That's actually a interesting suggestion, i might try to implement that after that game jam, see how it turns out :) And also abut the 'deflect', i was aware of it when i made the movement and attack system, it wasn't exactly intentional, but it kinda just emerged ig and i thought it was cool. Yea i should've added hit flash to the enemies, but my amateur ass coding skills just didn't figure how and i tried but it kept having this weird delay after hitting the enemy before the flash actually happened so i just did something called 'it's good enough' :P But either way, thanks for the great suggestions and feedback!!
No problem, it was a fun game!
Really fun idea, loved the visuals and sfx. I only wish instead of left click the dash was on somehting more satisfying to click
thanks for feedback :) Yea i should've changed the key to like spacebar or smthn
seems fun but i can't see my cursor and can't really get the hang of it
thanks for that, i probably should've bound the dash to a key such as spacebar or something instead of mouseclick, bc mouse isnt really used in any other way :)
how
walk right in the first part
yea ik ill fix that after
Fun concept :)
Very polished! I really enjoyed the movement even if I struggled. This was a very nice game!
Very good game. The idea and theme were revealed in an interesting way. Movement is smooth. All in all very good and polished game. Well done!
That was very good! the movement was challanging but not in an annoying way and the difficulty scaling was done well too I think!
Very fun, well done!
This was so cool!! I hit wave 10 before my strategy of spamming dash until the number of enemies was less than 3 failed me and I wasn't able to recover. I thought the controls were pretty good, the spin speed felt pretty nice (sometimes a little slow when I needed to turn 180 degrees, but any faster and I think it would be too fast), and while I did unfortunately have an issue where about a third of the screen was black at the bottom, which sometimes meant i couldn't find enemies, it was still a cool game. The sound and particles made it feel very polished, and I thought it was great execution on a seemingly simple concept. Good work!
Thanks! Although idk why screen go black though... ;-; ill look into it after
I’m gonna spin my chair 20 times just to pay tribute to my fallen character…
Very fun concept, loved it!
don't get too dizzy lol
I read this : "A game about spinning on a chair. Fight through waves of enemies while furiously spinning on your chair and try not to fall off for as long as possible!" and thought o shit person with the same game idea as us but than i played it. It is a completely different game but still pretty fun. Well done
thx :>
Really cool game! I can definitely see the potential in the idea. The art style is simple without being distracting, and the movement feels impactful and responsive. Although the player spins quite fast (I'd personally tone it down a bit), it's still easy to hit enemies and control the character with a good amount of precision.
My two main issues are that the enemies feel a bit overpowered, and the sound design could use a bit more polish.
Overall, it's a great game with a lot of potential!
thanks for the feedback! I kinda rushed sound design lol and the game is hard so thats fair
