Great job using the constraints of the jam. I particularly liked the clarity of the green column acting as the final obstacle. I noticed all the minerals flashed when you only hit one of them - in Godot you can either check "local to scene" on the material resource, or call `mysprite.material = mysprite.material.duplicate()` in _ready() to avoid it in the future!
Thanks! I didn't know about that. I'll be sure to use that if I update the game in the future!
I really liked your implementation of the theme. You have some metroidvania elements with the double jumps which I really liked, and I would love to see the expansion of those elements in the future. I do feel the quick warp is a little overpowered and undermines the whole concept of the game, especially the memory portion.
Great execution! After how strict the beginning of the game was with time limits, I was surprised with how generous the late game was! I wasn't expecting a free teleport back to base, and it drained a lot of the thrill from diving deep into the cave. Still, I hope you make a bigger game out of this!
Fun cave exploring game. I liked collecting crystals and upgrading at the shop to become more powerful. Good job!
this is a really nice little game, it reminded me of a mini-metroidvania! the progression was fun to experience and the art was visually pleasing. good job!
The concept works very well ! I liked the pacing and it was a nice little adventure !
Wow I really loved this one! It was super chill and really fun to explore. The art is super nice too. I think the game could probably allow for a key for swinging the pickaxe instead of the mouse. It's not to not have to reach for a mouse if you don't have to and this game doesn't utilize the mouse pointer at all so I think it would be nice to not require a mouse.
Really well done! This was amazing!
This was a very fun game. I liked having to gamble my time, and getting all the upgrades was satisfying. Great job!
I love numbers going up
2 minor nitpicks: I wish you could zoom out the upgrade screen, also I don't like the instant return to surface as a mechanic, I think having to go back up manually as something to keep in minds adds nicely to the gameplay
other than good job :)
The progression and the level design was really well done! :D
Congrats. :)
Ok ngl this was hella creative; like the idea of a metroidvania that's on a timer. Very clean; gave me Dome Keeper vibes :D
I think this is incredible! I'm curious about its "prequel" so I'm gonna check it out when I can, but this game was so good! I think you nailed the style and the progression system. The cycling - metroidvania(?) mix works really well! Congrats it's an incredible entry for a jam and I would love to see the concept expanded!
Very good and smooth movement. Controlling this little guy never feel better than this.
Although it is a little too easy.
With some more tools and secrets, you can expand this into a full game.
Amazing job.
Nice little game! I actually liked that the ore animations were linked up since it highlighted some ore that I hadn't spotted yet 😆
Potential Improvements/Ideas:
Thank you!
I'll probably make an expanded version in the future with more features and better balancing. The prices were admittedly decided on kind of last minute, so I'll definitely make some major revisions there.
That was a lot of fun! Perfect scale of game loop and progression for a jam game. The loop of discovery, then upgrading and being able to discover even further is really satisfying and fun. Also a nice way of tying the theme directly to the core mechanic.
The level design hits the balance of looking good while also forcing you to use all mechanics, and gives some intriguing looks at places you will be able to access later with upgrades. That is very tricky for a short jam game, great job.
Very impressive work - especially considering you did it solo.
Amazing job with the progression. Shows that you understand how to level design to be fun and not frustrating
Wow. This game is definitely one of the best games I've played during the reviewing. The game feels super polished, the upgrades feel balanced and the sound design is great.
I want more..
Love it! It's dave the diver but with much better control IMO. Running around the little mine feels so fun. The level design is also incredible. The chilling music + the anxiety feeling of running out of O2 creates a contradiction that feels cool too. Great Job!
It's a fun and cute game, nice job
collecting the crystals felt pretty satisfying. the artwok is cute and the controls are fun too.
but i a little bit empty i think...maybe enemys or traps would elevate the gameplay...
