How does your game fit the theme?
There are 2 versions of you, 1 is present version which you control and another is a past version, who follows what you did in the previous level. The past version has the same number of frames you used in previous level. As you play the past self more, the frames decreases as a countdown.

The art and music was really cool, and the game looks polished, but I couldn't figure out how to play. :(  The ghost self wouldn't jump high enough when I held up the platform.

Edit: After looking at the video, I gave it another shot, but I kept running out of frames right before the ghost would land on the flag.

Developer

You can rewind the ghost too. Also you can retry by pressing R. When you rewind hold plank before the ghost, that way you can gain frames without having the ghost move back

I liked the art and the music. This is just personal preference, but at least for me the movement would feel better if it was a little slower, and if there was a little more weight to the jump. I think it was a very creative use of the past-selves-time-looping puzzle mechanic.

me no understand, very confusing and hard to move between levels

Developer

We're you not able to move using A and D?

couldnt figure out level 2, what i can use the plank for

Developer

You can see that the flag for past self in on the platform but it can't reach it normally. When you play his recording, you can see that the past self is jumping 2 times, so you pick up a plank, position yourself so that you can  hold the plank up so that the past self jumps on the plank first, then on the platform. You can retry level by pressing R

This video contains how to solve each level

Very creative and unique take on the time-looping mechanics! I really love how the puzzles are designed but feel like the game deserves a bit more polishing in regards of the UX.

At first I thought the past version was replaying whatever I did on the same level before pressing R but figured that it was replaying the action in the previous level after seeing the description. I feel like it would be better to make a note of that in the game to communicate it better. Intuitively I thought I could click on the forward, pause, and backward buttons on the screen by mouse but only learn that I need to press J, K, L in the How to Play screen. The slider is also a bit bugged that I can drag it with my mouse with no effect on the game so that aspect was a bit confusing. And I notice I wasn't able to exit a lot of the menus using ESC which a lot of player would expect.

Given that the levels are tied together, it should also be easier to go back to a previous level and modify your past action as it is now. Perhaps something more diegetic would communicate the fact that going back to a previous level is an expected action of the player instead of using a UI button.

Other than that, this is a very fun game and I like how the puzzles are laid out. Using the rewind and pause mechanics to force a past self to stand in the correct position makes for a nice puzzle!

All the things you said were the things I wanted to add in the game but I couldn't due to not having much time.

What a brilliant and interesting game! Managing the present version while keeping track of the past one's frame countdown is such a clever mechanic. It's a really good application of the theme and super creative overall.
If you get a chance, I would love for you to playtest my game as well and let me know what you think!

A little too hard for me (I’m not good at puzzle games) but I like the idea being presented here. The visuals and audio could use a little bit more polish (the loop in the rewind sound is very noticeable for me) but other than that this is pretty good!

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to play due to it not scaling correctly on a 2650 x 1600 resolution, so unbeknownst to me I just thought there was no level one flag, and only one flag on level two. BUT luckily didn't have to worry long, we're in a game jam baby, I can just message the creator, understand that bugs/quirks like this happen under time constraints, we learned the issue together, I went and changed my resolution and this game RIPS. Super cool, I have also played multiple games with this same mechanic and none of them translated it quite as well as this one. It's a lot more intuitive comparatively , it might not be super obvious right away, but more than others attempts at this. Don't let simplicity of graphics or genre let you think this isn't a super complex mechanic to pull off correctly especially in a short amount of time, and in this moment I think this creator pulls of this gimmick the best! Especially in a short amount of time, and in this moment I think this creator pulls of this gimmick the best!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you liked the gameplay.

Interesting idea, needing to help your past self finish the current level with given objects - it's fun! I had some troubles with the rewind buttons, they didn't want to work, but the keybindings worked just fine, so it's not a big problem. :]

I really like the idea of having to manipulate where your clone moves, although it can be a bit janky getting it set up, still really creative!

Developer

If you think your current clone can't help complete level, you can retry previous level again

Fun game! Very charming graphics and audio. I found the gameplay very interesting but a little difficult to comprehend

Really cool vibe! The concept is awesome, unfortunately I can't seem to get my present self to move in the second level. After some fiddling with random keys I was able to get A and D to work in level one, but I couldn't get it to work in two. I can play and rewind the past self though and I got an idea of how the levels are supposed to work. Love the idea of using frames of the game as your count-down currency!

Developer

Try to click on menu and resume again. Or try pressing R to restart level

Developer

Did you have any other controller, vr headset or steering connected when playing? Or was the game window unfocussed?

Art style is cool and I loved the concept. I really liked how it managed to capture that 90's tv vibe.

Tried to give the game a shot but I am not able to move lol. May be just me tho. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that did not work.

The art of the game looks cool though!

Developer

It was working for another user tho. I'll check the build again. What resolution were you playing on?

I was playing with 1920x1080. Seems it might just be my issue. Ill try on a different device another day though :)
