Such a cool idea. I had a concept for cutting 2 years ago for the theme Built to Scale, but honestly didn't expect a cutting game to show up in this jam. :D

I really liked the cute sounds and animations after cuts. It takes some real skill to master this. Well done!

Developer

Interesting! How were you planning on applying the built to scale aspect to it? Honestly we struggled a bit with that theme.

And yeah! A lot of thought was put into the sounds and animations, so I’m glad you enjoyed!

I'm not really into funky physics, so that theme was really hard for me, too.

I simply took "scale" out of the theme and was planning on making a game about chopping meat, and the goal was to estimate the right chopping angle to chop it into chunks of required sizes. So pretty similar concept to yours, except I was considering more freeform cutting instead of halving, and had the idea for a light-horror theme. :) But eventually I ditched that idea and made Balanced, a cozy card game about balancing a scale.

Very fun and creative.

Developer

Thank you! We had a lot of fun making it, too.

Super intuitive and super fun! The controls feel fantastic. Nice work, and thanks kitty for teaching me

Bambi (Grandma cat) says you’re welcome! 🐈 Thrilled to hear you had fun; thanks for playing!

Very cute! I was able to clear all my Floofs with my very last cut. The tutorial is very clear and helped a lot!

Developer

Perfect! I'm glad you were able to be the game with the exact number of cuts haha! That should hopefully mean we have a somewhat balanced game on our hands. Credits to Hank and Alana for an amazing tutorial!

This Game was really relaxing.. I usually dont play jam game for long but this game was really engaging! The Audio was also very relaxing... Good Job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing. I'm glad we brought the relaxation to you in the game!

This is a very nifty idea! I had a few goes, but couldn't do it in the given number of cuts. I really like the way you've designed it so that careful cuts are better rewarded than hasty decisions. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! It can be a little tough at times, but I'm glad you went for the careful cuts.

Extremely polished and cut cat game. Very creative on the countdown concept with a fun pool mechanic. Great Game.

Very fun take on a reverse 2048/Suika! Love using the pool-esque mechanics to get the Floofs to where I want, exchaning Floofs for cuts was very engaging, and a great dual purpose feature as it removes them from the board. I also just love the visuals and vibe here. Very fun!

You hit on basically every single major design principle we wanted to get across with this game, and I'm glad that all came through amidst the chaos -- thanks for playing!

The cover immediately caught my eyes. Very well polished, interactions and arts are very satisfying, can't believe you made in just 4 days. Well done!  And the gameplay is very creative, but at first, I didn't know what to do, I thought it was like cutting the perfect cut, and then I found it's about colliding things in directions, it certainly made it more interesting.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you figured out what we were going for--we were worried that it wouldn't be intuitive!  And thanks for your kind words about the cover art - it's my first time as our team's primary artist (normally just a developer) and I wasn't sure if it'd stand out enough.  Much appreciated, thanks for playing!

My cat totally approves of the floof. The choice of piano for this game makes it so serene and it's surprisingly challenging getting the right floof sizes! The swiping cat paws are adorable (good work Bambi). So at first I was just frantically slashing away at the floofs because I thought I had a time limit only realise later that it was a cut limit, that changed the gameplay totally!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you saw the cut limit and it changed your gameplay mindset. I'm glad you liked the piano too! I had initially planned for more instruments, but the solo piano became just the right tone!

Premise is a little strange but I'll roll with it. I liked cutting the balls but I found it hard to find the strategy in the cuts. This game taught me that I would not be a good surgeon

Developer

Haha, we knew we had a wacky story on our hands — glad you enjoyed it! There’s certainly a learning curve with the more strategic cuts, but hopefully that made them feel more rewarding. Thanks for playing!

One of my favorite games from this jam! Adorable, easy to follow, addicting to play, so satisfying to see the little cat paws swip them away :3 Great work team!

I really enjoyed this game. It's very good. It's like a pool game and the cute cats are so beautiful. I loved the music too. 5 stars in every aspect of the game. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thanks -- I put a lot of energy into the music this time and I'm glad it was a highlight!
