I actually got overwhelmed by the fire a couple of times before I figured out how to manage it 😅. Exploring the map while trying to stay ahead of the flames was really fun, and the RPG progression kept me going. Great job!

I liked the variety and frequency of drops and the concept of the fire spreading. You nailed the theme and there is a lot of possible growth to the story and gameplay. I struggled to read the font for what buttons I was supposed to press. For the water flask, I kept getting a message saying no fire nearby even though it was right next to me. Unfortunately I missed the cutscene because I realized after I clicked "skip" that you have to click outside the textbox to continue the cutscene. Great game for a week long jam!

Simply amazing work here mate, great job! :D

Things I loved:

  • Building an entire RPG with combat, inventory, narrative, different levels, quests, even cutscenes(!?!) is extremely impressive, doubly so in 7 days, TRIPLY so that they all work well and are engaging in their own right! Very very impressive :O
  • The interpretation of the theme is very inspired. Y'know I don't think I've ever played an RPG with a time-sensitive level destruction mechanic before. It's actually a really great combo!
  • Narrative + questline is compelling, I haven't got time to complete it atm but have kept the tab open for another day because I want to follow up on it ^-^

Things I'd love to see:

  • A title screen, anything to onboard the player into the game would be grouse
  • Actually it was a bit of a cold open tbh, I wasn't sure where I was or what I was doing. I died outside once or twice and might have stopped there, but happened to go into the cave and was very glad I did. I think it'd massively benefit from either having an introductory cutscene happen before the cave, a simple tutorial window with a brief explanation before you get started, or even just a text dump with a bit of lore
  • Art for the warhammer ;D

Camera was REALLY zoomed in but pretty neat game regardless.

It is a pretty solid game. My main complaint would be the aim, it could be better maybe if the character just shoot at whatever direction you are pointing instead of just at enemies.

It also has a bit of balancing issues, the fire spreads too quickly, spawns too many enemies, and atleast as far as i have played, there are items that extinguish the fire, but those were one time use items, but i think there should have been more consistent solution to deal with the fire, I don't mean completely destroy, that would be against the idea of the game, but atleast control it a bit more.
I will give you that the enemies themselves were properly balanced, didn't deal much damage, and died in a good amount of hits, though it became annoying when they spawned so quickly.

The graphics are really neat though.

But overall, pretty good job.

The aim is bit hard but there sure is a lot of burning here, nice graphics too.

Genuinely a very fun game.
I wasn't able to beat it, but the fact that I spent over half an hour attempting to is a testiment to how much fun I was having with it ^^ - especially considering that my life on average lasted probably one minute.

I absolutely ADORE the art, I don't suppose you made the art yourself (but it would be incredibly impressive if you did) but even still USING the art you had so effectively is impressive. The camera was at just the perfect distance from the character to make it look absolutely special, and this will be my point of reference for any 2D games I make since

There sure is a lot of burning happening, wouldn't call it a slow burn though ^^, not sure if this is an intended mechanic but I kinda enjoyed the fact that the levels carry over after death, although the fact you still started with the values of level 1 made it's usefulness limited. Love that the items are from Warcraft 3

Targeting enemies by clicking on them is a little inconvenient though, but hey it's a game jam game, and I wouldn't be able to do half of what you did in one week. Love it for what it is, never managed to figure out how to cast the ultimate though, and the enemies are spawning so fast that I never made it past the starting room even when I got all my skills maxed out (well, if I were starting with full mana I could maybe make it work?)

Superb game jam game non the less!

You made a really good game. Creating a full RPG in just one week is impressive! It’s a bit too difficult for me right now — I get burned almost immediately — but I really appreciated the concept.

The rooms full of fire i wasn't sure you could extinguish them, i tried with the ice spell but the enemies kept overwhelming me

It's pretty cool that you made an RPG game with inventory system and cut scenes in just one week!

It's mostly my skill issue but I got stuck between the fire enemies in a narrow corridor and died a couple of times. Then respawned at the checkpoint and those enemies were waiting for me right there. That was pretty evil. lol

Thanks, I know thats annoying when enemies spawn camp haha,  but there is also another button in settings to spawn at 2 checkpoints ago so you dont get stuck forever

Oh I didn't notice that. haha

Cool!
