I haven't played incrementals before but I still found it easy to pick up (shoutout your graphic in the itch page, that helped a lot!!) and really engaging. I will say, I found it very hard to die and never felt pressed by having negative money. Overall, nice work!
Interesting game.
I love incremental games, maybe that's why.
I also appreciate the shaders; their love for Balatro is obvious.
And the clean, pleasant interface with sounds.
Really cool take on an incremental. You get to skip past the mundane stuff and start focusing on the engine building right away. And that background shader thing is wild. I'd love to know how you did that.
Thanks for checking out our game! On the background:
The shader is actually pretty simple, the gdshader code for that is here on our github repo. Pretty much just 2 copies of the same texture, each at 50% transparency, one is just scrolling up and left slowly, the other is scrolling down and right and being horizontally distorted based on a sine function.
To make the texture itself, i used Paint.NET. The lines you see in the texture are from this plugin that randomly generates mazes. Using a black-and-white maze as the base image, I rendered random red-orangish noise in a separate layer and drew some squares on a third layer using blue/purples. I set both those additional layers to XOR color blending which is what makes the "color splatter" type effect you see in the image. After that I used a filter to reduce the image to 4-colors, and recolored it based on our game's pallete. Then the final step was making the texture repeat seamlessly; theres a lot of ways you can accomplish that but I just ended up using another paint.NET plugin, a side effect of that is that you can see hard cutoffs where the red/blue changes to brown in the final image (though I ended up liking that look).

An entire game played in the shop is a cool idea for this jam. Nice job!
Cool concept. I think it could have used a little intro tutorial (or I need to concentrate more). Anyway, great link to the countdown theme!
Thanks for checking it out! Understandable, our tutorial/guidance was def a bit lacking
I need MORE time
Congrats on your submission! Right after the theme was announced I gave some thought to a game with a big countdown and some basic juicy actions to affect the number not letting it hit 0. But we ended up going in a completely different direction. This is much better than what I was thinking for that original idea. I really enjoyed playing it!
I love the idea! I think I'm either too good and I don't know it or the game is tuned a bit too low on difficulty, because I steamrolled all the way up to like 27+ minutes on the counter in like 4 or 5 rounds. Honestly not complaining, but I would be *very* interested to see how this looks with a more balanced power curve
nice stuff!
Thank you for checking our game out! I think its the latter, trying to balance everything out was one of the harder parts of making this game honestly
Suprised this isn't getting more attention, really fun and polished, enjoyed pretty much every aspect of the game. It did take me a little while until I felt comfortable with how the game works, but that might just be me. Overall a great game!
This was a lot of fun. Very incorporated and unique take on the countdown theme. And i like the music and balatro style vfx. Good job 👍!
This was a fun game! I too needed more time to read and think about what I was buying, ha!
The background reminds of Balatro. Love it!
This was incredibly fun, great art as well. Although I wish I had a little more time to think each round haha, it was a bit too quick for me.
Cool idea, think I'd have to stare at a wiki page for a while to know what to buy before I play. A lot of my purchases were off of quick instinct.
I had a lot of fun with this one! Nice music, art, vibe, and it was addictive trying to figure out how to survive just a little longer 😊
nice art!
The only thing to take closer to being a true balatro like is some more juicy animations on the cards. Tho the aesthetic is pretty good even with this.
Oof, this comment made me realize the card trigger animation we had didn't end up working in the build we submitted somehow (lol)!! Thank you for checking out our game!
The audio is juicy, artwork is triply in a good way
The mechanic works well with the theme and there's definitely something here that could be a good Balatro-like with enough polish. Great submission!
Good idea, nice power ups to balance money and time
