like how the countdown is use as the number of steps. nice idea!
Very fun premise! The expert levels are a very nice addition as a sort of newgame+ challenge, particularly liked the one where you have to fall all the way down between the platforms![]()
charming art and music! i like the mechanics and your idea is really unique :) one piece of feedback would be the web build stuttered for me at times, causing my inputs to register twice, but this may have just been me. overall great job!
Took me a moment to realize the counter for jumps was affected by the actual number of jumps and not how many times the jump key was pressed. Still a very cool concept to make a platformer require a bit more thought before attempting!
Thanks a lot!
Yes, we decided to use actual performed jumps instead of attempted ones as that was to frustrating during testing ;)
Really fun game, the jump was a bit scuffed but besides that the idea is really cool. I like the Countdown theme not being used as a timer, good job!
Very fun to play had a great time, I think you could make some of the later levels (or future levels) harder and require some clever solutions that aren't immediately obvious to really allow players to sink their teeth into the restricted movement mechanics more. Gotta say I adore PICO-8 and its music and art style are almost always a win in my book. Overall awesome job!
Thank you very much!
Yes, getting the difficulty right was tricky, in the end I added expert mode (in menu) and hidden achievements for the best possible number of inputs. So there is more to do for people who want to figure it out. I could post my personal best presses, although I did not because I thought that might intimidate people? xD
I think this game definitely has potential!
Nice puzzle platformer! I enjoyed the retro style of it. Some of the jumps in the third ( think?) level seemed a bit tight, but the rest of the game was fairly easy. Having a limited amount of inputs is a fun idea for puzzles and I think you could expand on this idea. Nice job!
This is pretty neat I like the acceleration it makes the game a bit harder
This is a really fun and creative game, thanks for sharing! Cool music and cute sprites, too.
I really liked the retro style! I especially enjoyed the puzzle elements of the game—I would have loved to see more of that.
On the other hand, the precision platforming required by some of the mechanics was often frustrating. Though, to be fair, that can be fun sometimes too
Liked it! You had me soooo close to giving up though :D
Tight little game and cute character. Also great finish screen!
I don't have the platformer hands like I used to, then you slap movement caps on me? Haha. Visually really well done! Audio is great as well, not sure if the slide when you come to a stop was intentional or not but certainly made precise movement tricky! Great job!
Nice game. I like how the limitations on button presses forces the player to pay attention to how to control the character in the most optimal way. Great stuff.
Very fun! Really liked the moment I realized directions could have limited uses too. I liked trying to find alternate ways to beat the levels minimizing button uses. Smart use of the theme!
Enjoyed the concept a lot! The level design is very good and teaches you the game in a well paced manner.
Thank you, we had 2 people on level design for 2/3 of the time, while I wrangled most other systems. so it is good to hear that it worked out +1
Absolutely brilliant game, I didn't even realized there was an expert mode... How did you made that in only 6 hours ???? (My shortest game made was only 8hrs and it was a very simple one, but 6 hours on a game that polished is just unbelivable) Congratulations to the team !
Thank you very much! Yes, we did use every single second of that time. ;)
Nice job on finding expert mode, we wanted to keep the game approachable so I added my best button presses as expert mode for an additional challenge +1
I also enjoyed your game!
Really cool and polished puzzle platformer, well done!
Statistics on the end game screen is implemented really well. In general, nice game with a beautiful art style!
Cool idea, forces me to commit to my moves (I usually love to nudge my character's position a lot when playing any platformer lol). And a big fan of the pixel art!
