Hahahaha that was a fun game! 10 out 10 voice acting!
I fed cats. That’s good.
That cat is SWOLE!

The audio and sfx were 10/10. The cats were really cute but also a little bit threatening. Great submission!
I really like the artwork it was really interesting, the music was also cool. This was a real cool game concept and it fit the theme well. Congratsss
Artwork was nice, and the sound effects were crazy.
This is a really solid first game you published. I like the art and experienced no janky bugs; things worked really well. Next time, one thing I have learned is to give players control over sound ASAP. It's always something that bothers people (and me) if the sound is too loud or annoying. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, making the sound effects yourself was great, and it fit the charm of the game. Good luck with the jam :)
Would you believe me if I said I only implemented the sound on the day of submission? I really wanted to add UI buttons, but I just ran out of time. My apologies, and thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely make better sound controls next time. Maybe even a settings page.
I will take that advise for the next game i make.
I would believe you... that's the problem/fun of game jams :). I can only talk from experiences about the sounds, its the one thing that has burnt my score in Jams more than almost anything (other than not clearly following theme), players either complain its too loud or they say there is no sound/music so from now on its something I make sure is there
The cats are so cute :D Really fun little game. I respect it when people record audio themselves. -Kaylee
Best sound effects I've heard in a minute. Really fun game that has a really interesting concept
Sound design was both hit and miss for me. Nice weird game, really liked the cat art! I love how it forces you to be defiant of the game. One of the coolest games of the jam for sure. ♥️
I loved your voiceover sound effects! Very cute, in the end just filling one beaker and then frantically trying to keep the cats from sending everything into the abyss, very realistic! + the boss is never happy!
I definitely enjoyed the feature where the beaker lit up when the bottle was happy with what I did to it, otherwise there's no way to keep track.
Also the cat drawings very cute, thanks for the game!
Very cute and cozy vibe! Dig the narrative elements. All the writeups were really fun to read. Game has a lot of personality! Definitely it's strongest point. Also, very appropriate synth choice for a cat-themed game :)
I was a bit confused by gameplay, though. Feel like I did exactly what the instructions asked, but I was met with what sounded like failure messages after each round. But was still continued to next level regardless?
Also, not sure what the deal with the cats were, although not complaining, they are more than welcome :) They didn't seem to affect anything negatively? Not sure if there are any interactions involved with them?
And then I'd say a bit more feedback via sounds, visuals or some kind of message just to indicate that a job was completed. Felt a bit like I was hoping I was doing things right but was never too sure.
Lets just say losing is the point of the game.
So when i got the prompt, my partner said i needed cats, so first thought that came was 9 lives. I needed them to go down, so I gave a boss that was never happy, hence why you lose if you hit the timer.
The cats just have a collider on it that take out beakers, so if a beaker fell, you got a strike. Other than that, they just visually cover the beakers and make it harder to see. Classic cats, other words obstacle. Big complaint is that you cant pet them.
Would you believe me i did all the sounds in less than 30 minutes on the day of the submission.
While the gameplay is plain, the sfx and cats make up for it
The sound effects were quite funny and the concept is definitely unique! I wasn't really sure with the messages at the end of each level because it made it sound like I messed up but I was filling each thing three times like the instructions had said. So it seemed a bit disconnected between what I was being told to do and what the outcome was. But otherwise it was pretty fun and I like the way you slowly expanded the mechanics over time.
THE SOUND EFFECT ARE SOOO GOOD, I kept playing just to discover new ones.
Main aspect to improve for me is the pacing and tutorial, I feel like the game is very slow, specially having to hold for X seconds the jar in every station, and also not being sure from the beggining on how to use each station.
But the concept and the humour really got me!
FEED MEEEEE
Thanks for the feedback! My thinking was to keep the pace gradual so players had time to learn the cats and the 3 second rule before things got hectic. The idea was for it to feel like, "This is easy" (levels 1 to 3), "I'm getting a bit overwhelmed" (levels 4 to 6), and then "Now this is chaos" (levels 7 to 9), while still keeping the whole game under 5 minutes.
If I take the project further, I'd love to move it into a 3D space. That would let me play around with materials, friction, and resistance. I'd also change the station values from integers to floats, so removing a beaker at the right time becomes part of the challenge. I'd keep the sliding mechanic, but have the beaker stay fixed while it's on a machine.
I also didnt upload the latest build. It would have fixed some sentences and changed the machine timings to 3 seconds for filling, 2 seconds for warming, and 1 second for powdering. I think that would have made the pacing feel a bit better.
I really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave feedback!
Really fun idea! I wish you could drop a beaker at each station. It would reward players for being in an even more stressful position.
Really cool game, and the music is great too!
Nothing like a bunch of kitties and tasks all at once, so many bottles and just so much chaos haha
I love the idea of friends distracting you from you work. The animations, music (with the sound effects), and narrative are fun.
From the core game loop perspective, the bottles moving from the table is an amazing idea. However, I found that having to manually wait at each point for 3 seconds was a downside for me. I would prefer being able to put the bottles at, for example, the cooker and let it warm up by itself.
I had to keep the scale low, end result was that all my equipment run the same Controller. I agree, if i decide to take it forward, it was definitely one of the things i wanted to change, same with the beaker sizes are too big.
