Very creative and very funny. And I appreciate it being mobile friendly! It's very well polished, too. It feels like a complete game!

Maybe I tapped the wrong buttons or wasn't paying attention, but I'd like to see more going on in the apartment scene. Something like PC parts and takeout boxes piling up!

Thank you for the feedback! We definitely have some post-jam updated ready and in the works for clarifying someone things. Items will get tooltips and placeholder text will be filled out. There will also be some more content added after the fight. If you have more feedback for us when you come back, we'll be happy to hear it after the jam as well! 💜

Thank you! A lot of effort went into the art and we are so glad it pays off. And thank you for the suggestions, we were just discussing the same issue and where we might put status indicators. I don't think we talked about damage numbers yet, that's definitely something to consider!

Thank you very much! And no, there is not more content in the jam version. You beat the jam game! We do intend to add more content after the jam, we just were not able to cram it all in before the deadline 😅

Thank you so much! Space Pirate Cats turned out to be quite the aesthetic!

Sadly, we did not manage to implement content after the battle phase. There will be more coming after the jam, though!

The interface may get some tweaks after the jam as well. We've already got some tooltips and descriptions in the works so players can better see what different items and abilities do for them. The attacks themselves probably do need a proper introduction. Our team will discuss some options, thank you for the feedback.

Thank you for the kind words! We agree that clarity was an issue, we have some post-jam updates loaded up to provide more information to the player.

I'm a sucker for incrementals. This one is very funny, despite the premise! I didn't realize you can zoom and pan around the ship until I had gotten all the upgrades - I was waiting for something that could take me to another screen. Starting the game zoomed out just a bit more would help show that it's one big map. Despite that, I had fun!

OOOOOHHHHHHH

A great example on how fun and interesting a relatively simple twist on a classic game can be! With some more "juice", I could see this being a hit!

Really cool visuals, and a great story! I couldn't really tell if the talisman did anything, but I'm guessing looking at the passenger sometimes makes the trip longer? Even when the talisman calmed down it seemed like the passenger would leave/be asked to leave immediately after.

A very cute platformer! It almost feels like a double-take on the theme when I can't even trust not trusting the fairy (rip sword).

I think you could get away with not adding more checkpoints if the character could move a little faster, or sprint while on the ground.

I love  good incremental, and the jam incrementals I've played rarely have this much juice in them! It's a pretty creative take on the theme taken to an extreme, which I think is excellent in a jam game. It could use some balancing, though something like the bombs at least sense for having pretty dramatic effects. I thought some of the agitating options would provoke more revolution but I don't think the bar ever rose above 0% after ten or so upgrades.

It's fun to play and provocative!

I really enjoyed playing! The art is cozy, even in the dark and the sound compliments the art style well. I would like it if the wave preview had a lighter background so it would be easier to see the enemies at a glance. The controls are intuitive and the progression of new enemy and defender types kept me hooked!

This is a very well-rounded project for just one day! It seems to run pretty well, it has good ambiance with the audio and the lighting. The text was a little hard to read sometimes, but not impossible. I think you did a great job managing your time!

Hi Aristarkh! I look forward to trying your game!

We did not get to put all the content in the game, so it ends abruptly. If all four on the left die, game over. If all four on the right die, you win!

We appreciate the constructive feedback! We will explore some options to make it more fun such as  improved visual effects, clearer descriptions, perhaps a gradual introduction of some items, balancing difficulty, and improved synergies in certain party builds.

Thank you for the kind words! Our art team really tested themselves with this jam and we're all proud of their work.

The struggles are real, lol! I look forward to trying your game later tonight. We do hope to continue Mates of Mendacity, at least to the point we had hoped to get to during the jam.

Hi, thank you for playing Mates of Mendacity! We have patched a number of bugs related to interactions and soft locks. If you would like to give it another try, you should now be able to play through until all four enemies are defeated!

Thank you very much! There were some bug with click detection, amongst other frustrations, that have since been ironed out. If you have fun with the buggier version, you should give the game another go!

"Lacks friendliness" is a good and polite way to put it! Thank you for the feedback, and we are absolutely proud of our artists and our musician. We've fixed most of the major bugs and we have not encountered another soft lock since our last update. If you enjoyed the vibes, we hope you will Mates of Mendacity another try!

Hi there! Thank you for playing, and we are sorry you caught our buggier version. We've fixed most of the major bugs and have not encountered another soft lock since our last update. If you liked the artwork and the concept, we hope you will give it another try!

Very fun game! I love the ghost-rushes; they're like a reverse bullet hell! I like that there are periods of relative calm where you can build up the fire, it's like there are waves of ghosts without explicitly calling it that, which I like because counting up the waves wouldn't fit the theme.

Fun to play, cozy atmosphere with quick rushes of action, this would make a great mobile game!

Sick game! I love that you went with an arcade-style. Kind of nostalgic. I would have liked to have seen the background change some, maybe progress into and through the castle, but I stopped thinking about that about halfway into the game because I got too absorbed into it. The pacing is really good, it feels good to play; Not too easy, and not too punishing.

I really like the combination of being an incremental and a decremental game at the same time. And I like that the upgrades come with a "cost" that is still a net gain for an active player. Overall really creative!

I have no idea what I'm doing but this doesn't feel correct lol

Really cute game! The countdowns could use some balancing, but the art is cute!

4/5 Narrative because it certainly tells a story! I'm glad you submitted, and you should be glad, too! Lots of people don't even get to do that.

Love that you took the theme and made the player literally count down by themselves rather than taking it to mean you should have a big timer in your game. The game looks great, and plays great for how simple it is!

The controls are surprisingly easy to handle, the game feels great to play! Some more special effects, maybe a more visually active background, would help push this over the top!

I would love to see you expand on the orbital debris management! To me, that is what makes the game stand out. Although, it is fun to reach the end of the tech tree and then just spam satellites!

Finally, the spiritual successor that Crazy Taxi deserves.

I love these suggestions! The debris and screen shake would look great.

Far from a perfect score, but at least I went out with a bang!

It's a lot of fun for a simple idea. You clearly put a lot of effort into making it look and sound good!

A really creative take on the theme! I would have liked to have seen either more narrative or more game play, I think either direction would be great.

Adorable concept and the controls feel good. The sound is really good, I just wish it were a little quieter to start! Overall a great game!

Got more stuck on this game than a burrito in orbit. Hope you make it into the top 100!

I don't know what you smoked to come up with this game but I'd like some on my next pizza thx

Gorgeous maps. Not just a game, but an experience 💖

I forgot there was a win condition. Nearly 20 minutes in, I was ready to stay another 20 minutes.
