You took a really basic mechanic and you made it much more creative and original. I didn't understand how the timer worked at first so I kept dying but eventually I figured it out and the game was much more fun!  You only added spikes for now, but it was still exciting especially with the moving spikes and the walls closing in. Very cool game :)

I like that the countdown is not just a timer but a resource you have to manage in a clever way

Flipping the hour glass is a really cool take on the theme! Good job.

Fun and simple! I agree with the previous comment so I'll try not to repeat. I suppose if you wanted to extend this game, you could make an end to the level that is in reach in the imparted time.  And then start with a fresh level after à la Mario. But in the context of a jam it's quite enough.

The gameplay itself is really enjoyable, it feel like flappy bird or some other flash game. But I agree with another comment that the celling closing in shouldn't be a thing. You cannot do anything about it and it just force you to die at around 1200 score, which doesn't take long to get there at all. I suggest that it could close in just to some degree as a way to increase difficulty instead? But other than that, the main mechanic itself is nice and feel very smooth to play.

cool & creative take on the theme. love it

Simple fun! I liked learning you can flip in the air if you time it just right to stay in the middle and get further than you could otherwise!

I scored 1174 ! I loved the time management aspect of the game. very clever use of a countdown timer. I was just wondering, is the level infinite ? I think there's a point where you cant go further in the level. Great job on your entry !!

Distance survived 1194. Pretty cool mechanics, but I think it would be better if you could expand these walls with some kind of powerup or achievement. Gravity and time flipping is a great idea, good job!

Very cool game, and a creative take on the theme. It was fun to try to get as far as i could, my furthest run got to 1174 before the walls got too close.

Solid Concept, really liked the hourglass mechanic, needs a bit more development time to indicate the closing ceiling

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah I'm going to add some shakes and screen effects to the closing ceiling.

I really like the concept, it's quite unique. Good work :)

Developer

Thank you!

I like the concept, but outside of that the game just doesn’t have all that much substance to it.

No music, and eventually you’re seemingly forced to die by the ceiling closing in on itself anyway…

Thank you for playing! This was my first time finding sounds and music for a project, and I couldn't dedicate much time to it, so the result is quite simple. I definitely agree that the ending in the game right now is not satisfying, and this is the first part I plan to change in the design.

What a creative concept--the hourglass flip, balancing two inverse countdowns, was a really clever way of expressing the theme and created a really cool tension between which side of the screen you stayed on.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Representing the "hourglass flip" without an artist to do some concept art was the hardest part. I'm glad people are getting the idea.

I like the idea, it's very creative

Thank you!

This is pretty clever.  It could use a lot of polish, but I like the idea.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah the game needs a large amount of polish.
