It really feels like a 7 second zelda game, especially with the bombable walls and hidden rooms behind them. I think it would benefit from a little bit more time, or a way to increase the time through upgrades somehow or something. I haven't played Minit, but this is how I imagine that feels to play! Well done!

Developer

Yeeeah the time is tight for sure. I did think about having some kind of time increase upgrade but I just didn't end up putting it in the game. Yeah I only heard about Minit when I was explaining this game to a buddy. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

I liked the games difficulty it was really challenging. Great job.

Developer

Thanks so much! Thanks for checking it out!

Loved the concept and the game itself was simple but the progression was done really well. The 3 skeletons was probably the hardest bit but I feel the balancing around the 7 seconds was really good considering it's a jam game. Really well made!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for playing!

Gosh 7 seconds isn't a lot of time! I still managed to get a lot done! I was going to give up on the final boss, but I finally got him with 0 seconds left on the clock. Great job!

Developer

Grats on beating it! Thanks for playing!

This game was SUPER fun.  Loved it.  Great work.

Developer

Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!

Side question:  What engine is this game made with?

Developer(+1)

It's a little custom 2d engine I made from scratch with C++ and SDL2!

Submitted

Wow!  Cool.

Submitted

Super hard, but a lot of fun!

The concept is really smart, I loved it.  I didn't quite get it at the beginning, but it's a really good idea!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah it's definitely pretty tough but hopefully you found the difficulty to not be too crazy. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Hell yeah! Loved it!

Very clever puzzles and mechanics, it's like a perfect little mini-mix of rougelike and metroidvania! Having things like that bombable wall that's there to create the shortcut to the boss is such a small detail but really adds to the experience. You really do feel clever when you find it and use that second it saves to beat the boss!

The vibes are great, all that's missing is the bloke you bought the lamp from saying some fun things when you pass him and you got gold!

Great job!:)

Developer

Hell yeah I'm glad you loved it! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for playing!

Maybe the lil shopkeep could have used some of that amazing voice acting you did for Gobomblins ^^

Love the idea unfortunately I'm too bad to get very far haha
But the 7 second thing is a great concept and very nice art!

Developer

Yeah a lot of people just get hard stuck at the 3 skelly fight. I think it's probably a smidge overtuned. But thanks for checking it out!

Speed run to the max!!! haha i enjoyed playing and i loved the art style. nice job

Developer

Thanks so much! Thanks for checking it out!

7 seconds was very tight! But I was able to beat it in the end. I definitely think controller was the way to go on this one. Getting that key after the grapple shot nearly broke me. Good job. I really enjoyed this one!

Developer(+1)

It's super tight indeed lol. Grats on beating it though! And thank you for playing!

Real fun one

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it

Probably the most fun I've had with the jam games I've played this year. Really great work on the concept, The steps were just the right amount of "game logical" but not so easy as to feel truly obvious. Really great work!

Developer

Wow thanks so much! Those are extremely kind words D: Really happy you liked it so much! Thank you and thanks for checking it out!

Excellent game. Very creative, I was not expecting this theme interpretation. It is kind of countdown yes, but also "loop"? or recursive. Realizing what you have to do is hard so it might be frustrating for some players. Shame this does not have more reviews. Excellent job!.

Developer(+1)

Grats on beating it! Yeah I think it's probably a bit too tough tbh. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for checking it out!

(Also I remember you from the big mode jam lol)

Submitted

I like the concept! In practice, very challenging in 7 seconds lol

Developer

Yeah 7 seconds is probably a little too tight it seems. But thanks for giving it a shot!

Submitted

It was very fun! Not too hard not too easy. Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I think you're one of the few to think it's not too hard XD

Thanks for checking it out!

Definitely one of the hardest games I've seen on this Game Jam so far. Lovely artwork and fantastic level design. I've added the game to my collection.

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. Yeah it's definitely pretty tough I'm finding out lol. Grats on finishing though, and thanks for playing!

Such a fun game. Very challenging and at first I struggled with some puzzles, but eventually I managed to beat the game (barely). Fortunately the game is designed to be both challenging and not frustrating at the same time. Congrats on making such a good game!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you were able to pull it out in the end. Thanks for checking it out!

I really liked how items and the world persisted, so everything could be done in 7 seconds, and you only ever had 1 objective to do so you knew what to look for. Great design honestly, the game was a little bit too hard, but i made it

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing! Yeah I think the difficulty is a bit overturned. Maybe it would have been better as an 8 or 9 second dungeon but 7 second dungeon has such nice alliteration lol. Thanks for playing!

The game is cool, but I can't seem to get any more progress after entering the skeleton room. I really wanna finish the game. But great entry non the less.

Developer

Yeah it's a little difficult for sure. Thanks for checking it out though!

One of my favorite games so far, I loved slowly discovering what everything did, and expanding the world. The hook was foreshadowed with the long pathway really really well and then reusing it for the shields was sick too. Loved how all the items could be used for multiple things, loved how well everything was put together, only criticism was I wish the lantern was maybe used for a little more? but it was an awesome time I had fun congrats on making peak

Developer

Wow thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you liked it :)

I initially had more plans for the lantern but I just ran out of time. I wanted it to reveals bomb walls or secret ghost enemies. But you can use it for combat (it does a little extra damage compared to your sword) and you can also burn shields with it.

Submitted

WHATTT it can burn shields i stand corrected holy moly
