Nice short game about learning a logographic conscript! There were definitely less characters that you need to understand to beat the game than I expected, though maybe some were planned to be used for the third level. Numbers were the easiest to decipher but didn’t really have much use other than seeing how much time left was in the countdown. Would love to see the game expanded on!

beat the game this time around! superb game :> loved the logic in the second area to figure out which ticket to get and how to navigate the lines didnt fully manage to decode the language and kinda intuit-ed but would love to come back and try again after the jam ends and some QoL bugfixes are made <3

Thank you so much for giving it another shot! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.

This is actually amazing, for some reason it reminded me of Palmier Island. Loved the game though

One of my favorite things was how the game never made me feel like I was randomly guessing. Every little discovery made the next one easier, and it was really satisfying to slowly learn the language. I'd love to see this expanded after the jam!

holy smokes so impressed with so many things! love the concept and puzzle vibes of figuring out the shapes, and all the art is so incredible, would honestly love a whole blown puzzle detective game just like this

Feeling like i'm back at Chants of Sennaar, and kinda of like this experience because it really reminded me of this game. And also the visuals are breathtaking, when i saw the comic style panels i was like "how did they manage to do all that in time???!!" hahaha.  Lesson of the day: Trains bring people together, and people who loves trains, knows ball. Good work

This was great! I was able to solve the puzzles and felt smart doing it. Great job!

Ok, so after the devs told me you can switch dialog option with WASD I was able to beat the game, and I can confirm what I guessed in the previous comment: it's amazing! The different ways they set up the levels so you can understand new words are well thought and diversified, now I only want more!

Developer(+1)

Can't thank you enough for giving it another shot after bouncing off it initially, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm stuck in the very beginning, I can only get the ticket for the train at the bottom but I want to take the train at the top, and I don't understand why I can't ask the ticket office for the other direction as I know the words. I've clicked everywhere / interacted with everything but I've no idea (I ran around enough to get the game over) :/ As all others seem to were able to do it I guess it's just a skill issue, but I'm just a little bit sad I can't play more as the game looks really cool!

Developer(+1)

Arrow keys or WASD to navigate the dialog options, if you're willing to give it another shot!

Submitted(+1)

It was that simple... Thank you a lot!

Developer(+2)

Game description has been updated to include this, thanks for the heads up!

Hey Franck! If you can shoot me a friend request on Discord I’d love to help you out and also confirm it’s not a bug that we’re missing. Name is j.hol  if Duscord doesn’t work I’d be happy to share my email address

The other comment gave me the answer, I was just dumb and didn't understand I could select the other line of dialog. When you talk to the ticket office, I thought that the second line of your character's dialog (the one a little bit grayed out) was her "internal thought", just something that the character is thinking, and you have to find a clue somewhere so they understand that it's the right choice and will choose it by themselves. I didn't notice the arrow on the left, I didn't understand I could choose between the two lines.

Developer(+1)

You’re actually not the first person to say there was an issue getting another ticket so I was starting to think it could be a bug. Since the confusion’s happened for a couple people now it’s definitely a design flaw that we’ll have to address. Thank you so much for the playtest feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Man, that was great! I really would have loved to play more of it, so I hope you'll make some sort of follow-up in the future!

Developer(+1)

We had a third level planned to be more complex and really put pressure on the player to figure out the language and navigate to your destination on time, but it wasn't polished enough so we were forced to cut it.  We *are* planning to add it back in after the jam, so stay tuned for that!

Great! Looking forward to it!

What a game! Amazing artwork love it!!

Wow what a game! I love the art style quite a lot as a pixel art fan and it also feels very nicely polished. The music and SFX also fit in tht environment really well! I guess you got an amazing team! The game also got a quite amount of content considering how there is only 4 days we got. One minor feedback is the UI could be polished a bit coz sometimes it can block the content. Overall amazing game and finish, great work!

Clever and unique concept, I really loved stumbling around looking at words and noting them, then seeing my guesses fall apart when I re-discovered the word in a different context. :) Also I love the sky island world!

I think with some polishing up of the UI and some gentler onboarding/tutorial this could be a total gem. And honestly, as a game the made-up language is fantastic and it's fun, but it could be a really cool way to learn a real foreign language!

Art is very good, using pixel everywhere and more traditional art in dialogues and cutscenes is okay but in UI elemts it looks a bit standing out yet also pretty fiiting. Great concept and it's implementation, I feel some sort of satisfaction solving this linguistical detective and just wondering around.

this is a very cool idea. great work on this one!

hahaha, I really love the name! The gameplay is smooth and well thought out, and I truly enjoyed playing the game! Art is amazing as well!

Woah, I really love this game!!! It turned out amazing, it's a good choice to use the transport setting, that's probably the only one you can figure out the language in so quickly. It really strikes close home to me, I had a lot of fun even though the game isn't that long

I would love to see a proper save file for my notes, not sure if Godot supports browser storage though. Also, more, I want more levels, I kind of accidentally stumbled upon the right ticket, but figured out the right platform and that the other path was closed. Really want to see the cut level!

Also, love the art and music! I think you nailed it!

Incredible game! I'm actually not sure if I won, but the ending picture looked like I did, heh! This world, though, and the premise of the game is just so chef's kiss! Like even if I beat the game or not, I feel like there's so much more you can do just in THIS game jam game. Let alone what you could do if you took this further... and please take this further cause I wanna run around this world some more and try intuit some more words and whatnot!

Charming, great vibes. Awesome experience! Unforgettable world!

Thank you so much for the play and the kind words! If you don’t mind I’d like to send you a dm so I can ask a question for some playtest data without posting spoilers here. Would you mind sending me a message on Discord? Name is j.hol, or I could give my email address if Discord doesn’t work.

Submitted(+1)

Yeah that's fine! I sent a friend request but it wouldn't let me message you. I dont use Discord all the much but I'd be happy to share my sort of journey through the game as i played it if that helps. Will try to respond to you when I get time!

I absolutely love this game!! The gameplay is fantastic, the artstyle is great, fantastic work!!! Would love to see it expanded on, I would definitely play a full game of this!!

Developer

Thanks so much, Cecil! Hearing that people liked it enough to want more is the best compliment we can get.

I love this spin of a translation game by travelling around like this! The area layouts and the things you do  genuinely reminded me of real life experiences so you definitely feel the pressure! The designs are really awesome too, making things feel very strange with how the glyphs are integrated! This has so much potential if it were expanded on!
