Narrative was thoughtful, and presented interestingly - although somewhat too frequent compared to the gameplay - losing a bit of its weight. Platforming was a little frustrating, the narrative may have been better served by a different game at it’s core.

Developer

Absolutely.  I also think the pacing could really improve with small changes.

Thank you so much for the thoughful comment!

The videos were beautiful. I couldn’t finish the game because the platforming was too frustrating but what I saw was lovely. Reminds me how lucky I am to have the people I love.

Developer

So glad it made you think that :)

Thank you!

nice atmosphere and visual arts!

I wish there was a bit more gameplay, but for a jam game I was pleasantly surprised by how melancholy the story is.  I'm very curious, what was the process for writing and recording the cutscenes? I assume those were your real family members speaking?

Submitted

I generally dislike first-person platforming because I find it too difficult to get a feel for where the ends of the platforms are/when to jump, but the story and atmosphere of this game were so intriguing I gave it a go anyway. Unfortunately, because of the aforementioned being-bad-at-games, I wasn't able to get very far. I feel like being on the moon would be a good excuse to make the jumps even floatier. That said, I really like the visuals (that child-drawn aesthetic against the blackness of space) and the intro was lovely!

I love the esthetic, obviously refering to outer wilds. Really like it !

Maybe is the web version but the jumb is very irritating. I really thought about playng a chill game but..no ? It's more a hard game and it's quite sad.

Developer

Thank you!! OW is absolutely a reference :)

We wanted the parkour to feel much more "moonlike" or  "dreamlike" but couldn't in time :(

The idea for the game was interesting, though it would make more sense in a longer game outside the scope of the jam, with more of the high-quality videos as rewards for gameplay or even playing during the gameplay. The platforming was a bit janky and it was weird that the big stars had no collision. After most dialogue questions the question was repeated, and the vertical camera movement wasn't clamped so your head can do a full vertical 360.

Thank you!

We feel the same way, we wanted to make something more paused and longer. But we also wanted to try and make something "artistic?" for this jam, as we've been working on a very arcade project for some time and needed to express ourselves!

And yes. there are MANY bugs we couldn't fix in time :/ we take notes!

Holy, this was such a great experience, you're making me tear up with those videos. Obviously inspired by Outer Wilds, and that's great. Was a little janky but it didn't ruin it. What a piece of art. Thank you.

Developer

Thank you! That comparison means a lot to us <3

beautiful story! Occasionally the character would flip around. literally my only gripe, other than that, I really enjoyed what it had to say.

Developer(+1)

Haha the mechanics definetly need a little TLC but we are happy you enjoyed it <3

Submitted(+1)

That was so touching and sweet! I genuinely didn't expect such a heartwarming experience when I started

the parkour felt a little finicky but it was a great challenge and I enjoyed playing

"One more game before bed" The game in question:

This game makes me want to be a better person. To live a better life. Thank you for this.

Developer

This means so much. Thank you, really.

Had the same feeling doing the game :) Let's all live a better life.

I like the concept, kind of reminded me outer wilds. I kind of wish I had more of a moonlike gravity while doing the platforming given the location we are in.

This was a beautiful submission that really had heart and carried a beautiful narrative. Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing this. Good Job!

Developer

Thank you!! This world needs more hearts out there :)

Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your life. You have people that cherish you and their message to you is beautiful.

Gameplay wise, you could have done better :D. but really beautiful story!

Developer

Thank you so much! Actually, the game was a way of telling them we love them :)

Definitely made me feel and think. Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us!
Gameplay was pretty boring though, some collectibles or more interactive ways to play the videos would be cool
The videos were really well done. Consider posting more things like this to youtube, maybe with some English voiceover as well for the subtitle adverse

Developer

Thank you so much!!! We didn't know if people would actually connect with such personal videos, so this really means a lot.

We will make gameplay much more interesting next time!

What a cool way to interpret the theme, how life itself is a countdown and that's what makes it beautiful. Great job man!

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing! we worked hard to try to convene this feeling
