It’s funny that the moments when a kid moves away, looks scary. Overall, narratively well put together. The music feels like it doesn’t really fit in places, but overall the game has potential, good luck!

How does your game fit the theme?
There are 10 rounds of puzzles, and in each, a decreasing amount of objects to find. The player also loses a finger every round, so the game exposes a different kind of count down :) We also use this to subvert search-and-find puzzle expectations throughout the game!

I really like how animated Clyde is with just a few sprites, him moving around the room constantly really sells the unhinged nature to me
My fingies :(
Really nice game! you executed the atmosphere really well, from the start I already felt unsettled, I like the music it helps with the atmosphere! Fun cute little concept with great execution! Good job! :D
At first, I thought this was going to be a cute, lighthearted game because of the music. Boy, was I wrong. XD It turned out to be genuinely terrifying! The game is amazing, you nailed everything, from the story to the visuals and the sound design. Great job!
At first I was like, "Why is this jolly clown in like this dark, eerie room?" Then I learned he is twisted! Also, Clyde was a very well-written character! I really liked it! Awesome game!
This is very weird and creepy but in an engrossing way. The narrative was captivating. Well done on making do with limited art!
Danf, blud just forced me to play it all, and of course the ending i would lose "that"
That was fun to play through! I liked how animated Clyde was, you were able to show so many sides to him in such a brief game. Trying to find the last objects felt really tense too!
This music and clown sounds like fun, but feels like a horror game – good job!
I won! But at what cost? Great job, this game feels very polished. The gameplay, visuals, sound design and writing really come together. I had fun!
My head does not look like a giant thumb and Clyde is a big meanie for taking it like the fingers :(
I love how Clyde moves around the room, despite the design being just a clown the poses and him moving around the room really gives him character
It was really tense for the first few rounds until I started to lose fingers no matter what I did, while I was fine with the scripted losses I think if there was some timer rather than the game ending on it's own for a while, it would up the stakes by a lot. You could lose fingers on minigames you could totally win that way but I think that would add to the experience, everyone would end at a different point and maybe you would get some unique dialogue depending on when the game ended too?
Very charming!
Haha, sorry about your head... Bad Clyde.
Thanks for the feedback and for playing! You're now the 2nd person to bring up timers I think, and you did a really great job of explaining why it would be able to contribute. Now that I'm thinking about it more, a countdown timer for each level and a win/fail route for each would be really cool! I'll likely revisit the game post-jam :)
Woah, really cool concept! I do have a few feedbacks, though.
For the first 3 levels, I was genuinely tense and hooked. However, after a certain point, that tension started to fade. Whether I won or lost, my finger got cut anyway, which eventually made my actions feel a bit meaningless. Fear mostly comes from uncertainty, so I personally would’ve loved it if losing a finger was a direct consequence of a mistake rather than an inevitable event.
As for the clown, he feels a bit like a generic villain. We don’t really know his motivation or backstory, so his actions felt more random than creepy after a while. Like “he’ll probably just do something random and cut my finger again”.
Still, awesome job! It definitely managed to pull me in right from the start.
Thank you for the in depth feedback! I agree and I actually felt the tension fading sometimes during my playtesting as well. I wasn't sure if it was because the difficulty was too easy in the middle levels, the consistent finger cutting every round, or a combination of both, but I definitely felt that expectations were too easily met in that section, which is an issue for a horror-esque game. I think it may also be because I saved all the tension for the end. As for losing fingers depending on performance, I wasn't sure how to work it in (multiple endings, play until all fingers are lost, etc). My partner suggested a countdown on each puzzle, which I've been thinking about. I'd love to hear your opinion on it!
Unfortunately, the backstory was the part we were going to get to if we had time, along with finger cutouts that accumulated on the floor as you lose them to increase tension :( Definitely agree on that end.
Thanks for playing :)
I liked the uniqueness of the game and the setting.
I think the horror elements could’ve hit more if it was a bit more uncanny valley (maybe the clowns arms are more red and there are some fingers around) I think the horror element would’ve worked much better. I remember Cyberpunk 2077 side mission “The Hunt” having a simillar vibe, but there, it was more uncanny valley, which made it even more scary.
Good job on the entry though. Lost our fingers and our head :D
