It is really hard to master! BUT ITS REALLY ENJOIABLE! beautiful relaxing music

Submitted (1 edit)

The first level was pretty easy, but gave up on level 3, though these aren't really my kind of game. Art and sfx look and sound nice though. Would be a little bit easier if bumping into a wall didn't mean getting reset each time, since could use up a heart to get into a better position for the next jump. Really like the color theme.

Developer (1 edit)

was there any specific pain point with level 3 in particular? was it the speed? i'm a little confused by your critique of the reset system as it hasn't come up before, if you have hearts, it just goes back to where you last dashed from and you're free to aim as you please with no time pressure - on that particular level i couldn't really find a death spot where it was all that hard to move into a decent spot to continue from, but i could be wrong! i might just have the developer's curse of knowing the exact quirks of my movement system. your game looks really interesting btw, i'm gonna try to slot it in before ratings close

Ah, I meant 4rth stage not 3rd. Tried again and made it further but still struggled a bit with stage 4. As for the reset thing I just mean the um knockback effect when you run into a wall how it resets to the last jump. If you want to watch me struggle with it, here's a video:

I do like how at least get a chance to reposition after a messup. I also like how it speeds up.

ah i see. nice try though! you got most of the way through, thanks for the video too - very helpful to see in action

Only other thing I can think to say about it is that the stage name font not easy to read. Made it all the way to Licktenberg, or Lichkenberg or something. and then it shake around so Lich looks like Lidb. It is kinda neat how the letters dance, but Ig is ok that is not easy to read since nothing really important written.

Easy to pick up, hard to master! This game is fun and pretty.

imprecise indeed! really cool arts.

Very convincing with a great ambience. My framerate gets too low - very slow PC - so controls are beyond reasonably impossible.

Developer(+1)

ah that's unfortunate, a download might treat you better in this case?  i'm sure it'd be better than web. the game is fairly difficult regardless though

That was a good idea! After downloading I teased my son to try, he managed to finish, and after some tries me too. Really cool abience and absolutely lovely style. After a while I felt I actuallt could mange to gain some control :) Well done.

Simple and efficient. Well, simple isn't the word is it ? Congrats !

The movement of this little guy is simultaneously satisfying and infuriating! It's quite challenging, no false advertising there.

I do love being a jellyfish though. :D

I won!! I love the art and the gameplay is very tricky but fun, good job!

Beat it, was quite tricky, but I liked the fun tech you could do by wallramming.

Levels were interestingly designed, simple but not overly simple, and the graphics and effects were top notch.

Sound effects added a lot, I really liked the sound design.

Very solid submission! A good, simple idea taken close to its logical conclusion, with a stylish presentation - the background shader added a lot. I also wish there was a little less acceleration on the aim rotation (I know that was part of the point, but for some tight corners or levels with quick movement timers it was a little frustrating). But overall I had a great time, maybe my favourite entry so far!

Short and sweet ! I ended up not struggling that much since i'm used to playing difficult (im)precision games, but the level 9 still had me struggle for a bit i have to admit!
(i really liked how i could sacrifice health by crashing into the walls to offset the timings of the long
shocks, no clue if that was intended but it worked well for me ^^)

The music/ambience sounds fits amazingly well with the simple spritework, the background just being a scrolling/changing noise texture is just so smart too !  (i need to experiment more with noise someday because it looks so good in this!)

The vibes are just top tier, awesome game !! Loved playing through it ^v^

And as someone else said, the cover is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm awful at this game but I still had fun, and that says a lot. Great submission

Game so good I run ads for it in my game

This is a very creative take on the theme and gorgeously executed. I would hang a painting of your thumbnail on my wall!

I did find the movement quite difficult. I wish there was just a little less momentum when spinning, but then again, I understand that is the challenge! I also was a bit unsure when I got to propel myself and when the clock started doing it automatically for me, so just a small indicator when the game 'leaves the tutorial', I suppose.

Aside from that, I think you've got a really great entry and I think it's going to do very well!

Developer

i think i got so used to no ticking meaning "you can dash yourself" that i kinda forgot to add a visual indicator haha, doesn't help that the ticking is way more quiet on web than desktop for some reason too! i added a volume slider just for this but i imagine most people don't touch it. glad you enjoyed it regardless, and your game looks great btw. will definitely play it soon

Can't go wrong with a good ol jellyfish.

Great game, dude! Very interesting use of the theme. Very well executed mechanics as well.

Loved what you did with the noise in the background!

Good art, good mechanics, and good idea. The art is very fitting, and love the smooth-moving feel of this squid!

A really unique idea for a game. The underwater theme is really felt within the audio that's been choosen with its eerie floaty ambiance. The small movement and bump sound perfectly fit the pixel art style. Were I to make a recommendation however, it isn't always entirely clear where the exit is which did lead me to bump into a few random walls at the start of the game confident that they were not solid only to lose a life. Either way loads of fun.
P.s. our games are submission order neighbours. Hello!

Quite a unique idea. I suck at precision platformer usually and this was of a similar case, however this was a lot of fun. Difficult yes but fun. It's visually impressive, I love the background shader and the squid? art. The Visual effects are done well too.

My main feedback would be on the actual gameplay it self, I think the direction cursor feels very floaty, which I guess could be a design decision seeing as how this is a game in the ocean, But I would kinda prefer a more precise direction cursor. But that's my personal preference I think. Even with the way it is, it's still quite nicely polished.

The level design though lovely could be made slightly lesser difficult.

But apart from that this was really impressive, great work!
