Fun game! the art is very cohesive. I think it could be fun to use coins to get hints from something like a gravedigger so there's more ways to avoid cursed spirits

Really fun! Definitely agree with what others have said, I feel like my first click was almost always a curse, but at least that gave me info to know everything around it was curse-free.
Love the UI design, very creative to have the description of each body show up in an "obituary", and I really like the look of the "Nights Left" counter. Feels like everything in the UI was chosen super deliberately, and it looks great, bravo!
Very cool game the art style is so good. If you have a second, I’d super appreciate a rating back on my game The Last Light
This is a fun take on minesweeper. Honestly, it feels more like a logical puzzle than minesweeper in a way which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have to agree that a cursed on your first try is unfortunate and maybe there could be an interesting work around for that either by using the minesweeper generation strategy of the first area be not cursed and generate based on that or a fun gameplay element if the cursed is first. Great game overall! Would love to see it expanded upon further.
An interesting take on minesweeper that you managed to make enjoyable through the variety of different corpses.
definitely more manageable for me than minesweeper. It is quite frustrating turning up a cursed body on your first click but it's not really avoidable. I also really enjoyed the goofy little sound effects, and the Miner character is a really interesting way to uncover the map without bumping into cursed bodies. Congrats on the submission, it's very neat :)
Thanks a lot!!
A lot of other comments brought up some great solutions to the first dig thing that I probably implement if we decide to continue work post jam on this.
And yes the miner is one of my favorites!!! It was mostly a happy accident, I just made it so he couldn't dig up curses because I thought that would be frustrating, but it ended up making the miner have a much more interesting mechanical depth. I feel like theres always a lot of unfortunate accidents in game jams, so its always nice to have a good one lol
fun logic puzzle. I liked the art and sound design. A little annoying running into a cursed body on your first click though.
I played this one for a while, I really liked the gameplay and the art looks great too. I like this kind of deduction puzzling. I did feel dumb at first not understanding how to determine a safe first click, and then opening a cursed one, but it feels like there is just no way around that? As others have said, that does feel unfair to the player. Either the puzzle should allow you to deduce the safe first click, or the game should show a single open grave to deduce the other graves from, or the first click should simply always be a safe one. I think the middle option makes the most sense. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable to play.
In one round though, the judge said there were zero cursed bodies in the surrounding tiles, but I still ended up digging up a cursed body. I don't know if that was a bug/mistake or a mistake on my end, but I didn't understand what happened there.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!! All great suggestions, and I'll definitely choose one to implement if we decide to take this further after the jam.
That judge bug is weirdddd. I'll play around with it. It could of also been something related to the miner switching bodies around? I'm not sure
I spent a LOT of time on this game. I had tons of fun!!! The different types of characters are very smart and well done, and I cackled at the voices they have XD
I played it so much that i managed to get to the end and ended up in an endless loop of count Vacula praising me hahahaha
Sending a lot of love to this game!!
Real cool concept! i like the variety of bodies that can be around, it really changes your thinking from one day to the next.
having to just blindly click on the first grave and have a chance to get a curse straight away feels a bit mean, something similar to minesweeper where it moves the mine if you click on on as your first move would be nice
Big fan of the art too!
I like the art style. The puzzle has great potential if you make it a bit more deterministic. Currently it feels I need too many random guesses. The count feeling down is a funny take on the theme though, wish I'd thought of that
I really liked the graveyard deduction idea. Reading the obituary clue and checking the burial list made every grave feel like a risky little decision 😄 I got a bit too confident and ended up uncovering more curses than fresh bodies, but the spooky art style and the changing moon gave the game a lot of personality. Fun concept!
It’s an interesting idea—not really my cup of tea—but having played Minesweeper, it would be nice if the game offered some kind of clue to hint at where the curses might be! That way, it wouldn’t be so random, and I think it would be more entertaining.
Very fun minesweeper style game.
I would recommend implementing a safe first click, so to at least not lose lives from the first random click.
Other than that, I had a fun time beating it.
You have pleased me mwa ha ha
I liked the visuals.
Overall, it's a pleasant game.
There's a missing button for adjusting the sound - the curse is very harsh on the ears :)
Interesting entry with very fun deduction premise, well done! Graphics are definitely the cherry on top here. The only thing that bothers me is being able to get a ghost as the first thing on the map which is frustrating because if you get bad RNG you will just die by selecting the ghost first at all 3 rounds. But aside from that the concept is very solid and I really enjoyed your game!
Keep up the good work!
Really interesting concept for the count down, got a little lost at first of how to play it
the game is really insane, with good art style and music, minesweeper inspired but this is so much creative! barely passed the 7 bodies level due to the first cell reveal! so unlucky
The artstyle of this game it’s pretty and well done!
I think the game should explain a little more how to play it, still, if there’s a full release I’d definitely play if.
