That was very fun, simple to understand and addicting. Great work!

This is such a nice premise for an arcade game that almost feels like a puzzle sometimes. I like how you can plan to not only retrieve bombs before they explode but also avoid them. It gives another layer to the gameplay which I enjoy. Nice work!

As soon as I saw the thumbnail and description, I knew you'd managed to come up with a great idea, but I'm not sure that an endless score attack was the right execution. Playing slowly is the optimal choice, but there's no satisfaction from thinking hard about each move because all the turns are the same with no win state, and there's no push to play fast without any sort of time limit.

All that being said, the minimalist pixel art is good and fits the sort of game you've made, the control is smooth and bug-free, and I did have fun during the few rounds I played.

Thank you for your comment. I do agree that the game needs some features to add some dynamism. My original idea was for there to be multiple labels and to have a bar that would run out if the player didn't keep eating bombs.

I wasn't able to add this due to time constraints. But this is something I will definitely be adding in the future.

I love it! Our games are actually very similar! Yours is a turn-based puzzler while mine is fast and frantic. It's always cool to see the same core idea taken in completely different directions!

Developer

I agree! We definitely went in a similar direction with the theme. Very good game btw!

Kinda gives 2048/minesweeper vibes. Good game

I absolutely adore the simplicity of design and aesthetic, but it's just a fun little game to keep trying over and over to get an even higher score. Well done!

great vibe with simple but well-polished style, i think it would be even more exciting if there's a time limit for each move.

Amazing job at taking the theme to heart and doing something interesting with it! I found myself looking at the screen for a moment and just thinking, and it was a great feeling to see my plan work successfully. Hope you can check out my game too!

dude... DUDE

You might just had made a new "2048", if you can port this to mobile, and make a more inclusive design, you are certainly getting crazy downloads, I'm for real, and the theme usage here is incredible, the best usage so far!

I really enjoyed playing this, its easy but hard to master, its challenging and also amusing all at once. Very easy to understand the mechanics without any need of explaining, really different from my games , I admire how you can achieve greatness with simplicity.

This is probably the concept that fits best to the theme in the entire jam so far. Not the best game but so many of the other great games i've played haven't incorporated the "countdown" theme in the gameplay that well imo. Most of them would fit better under another theme but this one has the perfect "countdown" themed gameplay loop in my opinion. Amazing work i you have my vote for one of marks selection for the showcase video.

Woah, this was actually really satisfying! Very clean and crispy art too. Well done! ^^

very unique look on the theme, could benefit from a little more sound effects(for example when a number explodes) but other than that really well done

Developer(+1)

Completely agree! I had some other sound effects prepared, but sadly didn't have time to add them in :(

Neat! Strategic bomberman! It would be really cool if you had a certain amount of time for each move, maybe something like crypt of the necrodancer where you have to move on beat, would certainly keep you on your toes! Fun!

Developer

Thanks for the comment. I completely agree that it needs some mechanics to encourage fast gameplay. I was thinking of a sort of a "combo" bar that goes up the faster you move, and gives you extra points. Definetly something to think about in the future!
