How does your game fit the theme?
This is our first Game Jam! So... 96H is built entirely around the concept of a Count Down and Game Jams Pressure! The Ultimate Deadline: You have exactly 96 in-game hours counting down to zero. Every run is a race against the clock to finish your game before the deadline hits. Time as a Resource: As the countdown ticks, you must balance mini-games, manage Panic and Bugs, and stack buffs to polish your project. Judgement Day: When the countdown reaches 0:00, your time is up, and your game is automatically submitted for final judging across 5 categories.

This was a really fun time. Simple mini games that scale in difficulty + the time constraints made this a really good management game. If only real game jams were this easy

Developer

that's the first time I've seen someone reach the highest score in the game (even I with more than 15 tries did not manage to do this 😅) thanks a lot

very pleasant visually, and perfect game. Very good result for a short jam, game about the jam itself, cute

Developer(+1)

thank you

Submitted(+2)

Wow, the visual aspect is impressive. I didn't think it was possible to create a design in such a short time.

The game itself is mind-blowing! It's incredibly well-made.

This mechanic is genius. Stealing it form my own project (with creadit obviosly).

Btw this is Awesome! 50/25

I've seen a few ideas of "Game where you make a game for a jam" but this feels like the most polished one! Sadly I got softlocked before completing my game because I clicked an item while a window was already open 😅

Developer

thanks a lot!

yeah the fact that you still can choose a task while already doing one is an overlooked feature (I'd rather call it a bug) which we noticed after the time for the submissions ended. That's a bummer

Submitted(+1)

What a meta concept! Even I did not feel this stressed when working on my own entry haha XD

Developer(+1)

thank you) cats are very chill, so you couldn't be stressed)

Submitted(+1)

Great concept, I also thought of doing this type of game as game jam timer is itself countdown, but I was too lazy and couldn't come up with cool concept like yours lol

I loved it. It took me a while to understand what to do in some tasks, but I managed :)

Developer

Thank you. it motivates me to get better)

Submitted

Great meta concept and well polished, good stuff on this one!

Developer

next time there will be even more meta and even more polished) thanks for the warm comment

amazing idea, incredibly chaotic all the time and still very confusing in terms of the inner workings of everything but I think that works in favor of the aesthetic choices and the early internet maximalist vibe it's supposed to have

genuinely had so much fun playing this, stellar work from everyone involved

Developer(+1)

It's nice to read this, especially from the author of a game that I really enjoyed)

Submitted

This is such a meta interpretation of the theme, I love it. I'm also a big fan of the MSN aesthetic and the character art. Congrats on a really polished and original entry!

Developer(+1)

It's great to see people who share our preferences. Thank you for playing. Come see our game again next time)

This is done so well! The amount of minigames is impressive, and it is even more impressive that they all work and are fun. My favorite was the typing one, it made me feel like a coding pro even though I had no idea what I was doing. So just like regular coding, I guess. Overall really well done!

Developer

xddd, I felt the same way when I was writing a typing game. thank you so much for the kind words

Submitted

Really polished for your first jam!

Developer

Thanks) What is there to surprise you with next time?(ᵕ•_•)

I really loved this game! It is sooooo good, polished, and complete!!! The minigames are interesting, the art style and visuals are awesome. It's one of the best entries I've played in this jam! Congrats on the submission!

Developer(+1)

thank you, it's a pleasure to read! I will definitely pass on your words to our artist, if he hasn't read it himself)

Such a clever idea and well executed.

Really funny that you went through with it.

The game was fun and puzzles were great!

Everything feels very nice.

Well done :D

Developer(+1)

thank you!! honestly we weren't sure if we should actually commit to this idea, but hearing that people enjoy it makes it totally worth it XD really glad you had fun with the puzzles!

Submitted(+1)

As I was slowly running out of time I had a PTSD about the few hours before my jam submission. The countdown effect in this one is tense!
Such a clever interpretation of the theme.

I also loved the retro desktop aesthetic. The pixel art, music, and overall presentation were full of charm and made the whole experience really enjoyable.

Great work, and best of luck in the jam! 🏂🎮✨

Developer

thank you!! that's exactly what we were aiming for :D we wanted the countdown to feel genuinely stressful, so hearing that it had that effect means a lot. really glad you liked the presentation too!

Submitted(+2)

Such a smart take on the theme! Congrats. I love the meta aspect of it and the mini games are really nice. My only disappointment is the art mini game that shows the same artwork each time but hey... the amount of work done is so crazy that there's no way we can blame you for that. Huge congrats!

Developer (1 edit)

thank you so much!! T_T the art minigame was supposed to have multiple drawings... but then the countdown became a bit too real for us
really glad you enjoyed the rest of the game!

Submitted(+2)

Man, this is tense than the game jam itself! the pixelated UI of the CRT monitor is really really nice and the puzzles are tiring in a good way!

Developer(+1)

thank you! that's actually what we were aiming for. if the game made you feel as tense as we did during the jam, then mission accomplished

Submitted(+1)

Oh my God, what the heck? This is the most polished game jam game I have ever seen. And it's got 10 games inside it which could each probably be their own game jam game. Plus it's actually fun. 🤯

Developer

lmao! thank you so much though!! genuinely didn't expect that reaction, we're still a bit shocked people are enjoying it this much

Submitted(+1)

The UI is so good and it literally fits the theme so well! This is so cool! I'm so jealous you guys can put together a team with such talented people! How did you guys build this in such a short duration of time? :O

Developer

thanks a lot for the feedback! you guys are making us blush with all these compliments xd

Submitted(+1)

Man this actually look like a offical game how could you make it in just 4 days 😭love it a lot!!!

Developer (1 edit)

thank you!!
like, i'm really glad you liked it (personally i already hate my own game XD) guess a lot of devs can relate, but it honestly means so much to hear such kind words! thanks!

Submitted(+2)

This entry does not feel like a game jam game, but a fully released game (although short, yeah yeah). :D
Amazing polished state and all the details... everything in 4 days, I don't get it, how good are you guys? :)

My favorite by far was the coloring puzzle.

Congrats on the game! <3

Developer

thanks so much! i like your game way more!

we didn't sleep the last day and we're super tired, but it was really fun, our first jam was so chaotic, kinda like this game (i think that was the idea, to get the emotions across in some way xd)

im glad the game is liked by experienced devs like you!
