I feel like a human ressource. Feed the capitalism.
Haha thanks for playing…
…and yeah, you could call the game just that lol
I forgot the feedback ! I played with my girlfriend and it was very fun ! I'm bad at matching colors lol
Love this game. Perfectly fits the theme. Would be nice to have some sort of markings/symbols in addition to the colors since some of them are very close to each other, but more importantly it would help with colorblindness. Initially it seems like having more people show up as you play would make it easier to find the colors you need, but it's quite the opposite. Very well done difficulty scaling. My biggest gripe was the z-sorting seems to be opposite of the interaction layers. IE it always seems to pick up the person visually in the back, rather than the front.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! :)
Yeah, the sorting is known issue, I will look into that after the jam! :)
I've had a similar sorting issue before. My workaround was to collect all the clicked objects on interact, then loop through them, and return the object with the highest z-sort value. If the sorting is being done by hierarchy, it might be easiest to automatically assign an increasing value on spawn to reference for interacts.
While the gameplay isn't much to write home about, I really like the art and premise, so you could definitely develop it into something interesting
Thank you for playing! :)
Although can't call it a full game but if you give more soul to it, it might become something interesting.
Thank you for playing, Mkkp23! :D
I'm fully on your side with your point. It is not a 'full game'! :)
For me personally, a game jam is about testing out concepts and time limits, and also interacting with cool folks! :)
Simple yet effective. And I love the aesthetic.
Thanks for playing! Big fan of 'Keep It Simple, Stupid' haha
Glad you liked the aesthetics! :)
The art was great and the idea in itself is unique , a bit creepy for me but GG overall !
A very interesting implementation of the color mechanic. At a certain point, the crowd becomes huge, making it quite difficult to spot the target.
A simple but very interesting game. The gameplay is straightforward and easy to understand, and I think that simplicity helps keep the focus on what the game is trying to convey.
My interpretation was that the machines are being fueled by human creativity, serving as a metaphor for the use of AI. I’m not sure if that was the intended message, but if it was, I think it’s a very clever idea. The environment also complements that concept really well and helps reinforce the overall atmosphere.
I really enjoyed both the gameplay and the visual style. I think this game is a great example that a game doesn’t have to be mechanically complex to be engaging or memorable; sometimes a well-executed idea is far more impactful.
Congratulations, and great job!
Thank you for playing! :D
Yeah, you are 100% right. It was the idea! :)
Thank you for your feedback! <3
It was a nice experience.
The idea is fun and the game feels polished.
I really like the clever lore / message that the game has as well.
Well done :D
Gorgeous visuals, and the concept is pretty cool! I would've loved a bit more of a challenge, though. Also, being able to move the characters around would be nice, as it's hard to grab the one you want when they're stacked behind each other.
Great work!
Love the artstyle it is really cool and unique. Gameplay wise it gets boring pretty fast. Maby you could add some challange for the player.
The art style is really charming and has a nice clean-but-slightly-creepy vibe, I love it! The concept of feeding the machine fits the theme so well, and the music being sweet despite the dark subject makes a fun contrast. Very addictive gameplay loop too, I kept trying to beat my own score.
The color-matching got quite tricky as the difficulty increases, sometimes I struggled to grab the right person because of hitbox overlap between characters. But for a solo dev project this feels really polished, congrats on a great entry!
The simplicity and visual are really nice on this.
Wow its simple but fun game to be honest!
I fed the machine!!! Really well done, I liked the graphics and colours
ooh i love the concept. like finding waldo but with a human-eating machine. simple but satisfying, graphics are awesome, and its fun overall.
great work!
This was a very basic but fun game! I loved the asset choices and the satisfying mouth animations :) I suggest looking more into the hitboxes and the layers of each character as sometimes I could pick up the character behind another one though it wasn't intended. I love the urgent and exciting feeling throughout the game and the progressive scaling does make it challenging but an overall smooth experience. Overall, I didn't expect this to turn out so fun :)
Thank you so much! :)
Yeah, I'm 100% with your point: the game needs more polish, especially on the side of collision detection and sorting objects.
...but at the end of the day, I had to prioritize things as a solo dev, and some things had to suffer because of that haha!
I really appreciate the honesty and your detailed feedback. Thank you! <3
haha yeah, as a fellow solo dev I get the stress throughout the making of the game and needing to make decesions about what to perfect and what ideas need to be ditched. This was without a doubt an amazing game nevertheless no matter if it was made by a team or single developer!
i genuinely enjoyed playing this short but meaningful game! fits the theme super well. sometimes i wanted to read the dialogue at the top, but the timer keeps you so tense that i simply couldn't catch up and was focusing more on the main goal, lol. beautiful animations and the music is way too sweet for a human-eating monster xd. at one point it got really hard to aim at the little guys even though i knew their color - the game got noticeably harder, but the challenge was awesome! big thanks to the dev and wishing you success, awesome project and i really loved the style. 9000 is my max score since i'm not the most talented player :)
Thank you for such a kind and warm comment!!! I was truly moved by reading your words. :'D
I'm glad you had fun with this tiny game, haha.
Thank you for playing! <3
being colorblind made this game pretty hard, great concept tho!
Thank you for playing! :)
I'm sorry to hear that... I had planned to set up multiple colorblind-modes, but sadly the time ran out and I had to prioritize things. :(
I plan to update the colorbling-modes in the future! :)
Cool and scary idea! You should try to develop this further after the event, when you have more time :D
Thank you! :)
