This game feels steeped in nostalgia. Audio would be better with some vroom vroom sounds. I don't know how I would make the controls different but I ran into the walls a lot.

Interesting game and concept! I think I might have actually preferred if the game didn't have the track hazards so that I would be able to keep getting better and better at racing each lap. Overall had a fun time as I took some really satisfying corners through the laps. Great game, and hope you check out mine too!

Cool game.  I got six laps.  Great work!

Cool game! It reminds me of the retro arcade game where you race against other players on windy tracks like this.

Fun racing game! I like how the hazards spawn with each lap. Also ur going crazy in the demo video! If you like top-down racing games, you should try the one I made (on my profile not the eat fish game) and let me know how you like it! (my best time for the first track is 00:16:06)

I am a big fan of Micro-machines, and the controls and camera angle did perfect justice to that vibe.

I love how you made each new lap have a bunch of randomly generated obstacles. Makes it unpredictable but fair.

By the way, here's my high-score after 4 playthroughs. Did anyone beat that? or am I the reigning champion? ;p

Driving is fun. Rising difficulty forces you to know the track, but at the same time you need to react quickly to new obstacles. Great game!

Wow I'm jealous, this is so effective!
How did you balance the game? You added enough time to do a whole lap based on your playtest?

Also, how many laps did you plan? I could only go to 11 laps in my run.

Thanks for playing! To answer your questions, after enough testing, I figured out that it's possible to complete a lap in about 22 seconds. From there, I tried to balance it to be quite hard, because I didn't want players to keep gaining more and more time. The game reaches the maximum amount of hazards at lap 25, then continues to replace hazards with new ones with each lap. The best I've managed thus far was 32 laps during testing.

Really cool little racing game! I especially liked the increased difficulty every lap to keep it unique, and the car physics! If you really wanted to be mean you could also add a realistic mode where you can't crash into anything without ending your run XD

Developer

Thanks for playing! I had thought of implementing a point system where you would gain points for staying alive, completing laps, etc, and lose points for staying in contact with the wall, though a realistic mode does sound like quite a humorous extension of that idea.

Nice work! The idea of more hazards being added to the track with every lap is really clever!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for playing, and thank you for the kind words!

great little arcade game. the music really makes me lock in sometimes. a practice mode would be nice, or a racing line guide during the first couple laps would be nice to have.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the suggestions. A guide for the racing line isn't really something I had considered, but it certainly would fit in with a practice mode

That was a fun little game! Honestly, I would love a version that’s just a time trial with no hazards, I feel like with a few minutes I could actually get a really good line going.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I do agree, a time trial mode does sound like a good idea (before I had the hazards implemented, I spent far too much time just doing laps around the track)
