really love the whole vibe of this game. very well thought out
Genuinely a really underrated game in my opinion. I loved the overall aesthetics and vibes and understanding the core mechanics was really not that difficult. Personally I am a big fan of both metroidvania and puzzle elements but it was one of my favourites stylistically as well. Keep up the good work!
Really struggled to enjoy this one unfortunately as the concept is clever.
Backtracking in games needs to be designed well or at least fun and faster to do using something like shortcuts but walking between areas was a slog. With no explanation, I wasn't sure if I was meant to workout puzzles or unlock them later which I eventually started to do, the pallet swap was unique and matched what I was hoping for from the game but I think it could have been utilised to craft harder puzzles and unlocking the rope mechanic felt lackluster as I'd wanted that from the start so saw it coming, my reaction was "Finally." rather than excitement for a new mechanic.
I can't say I was able to beat the boss fight, starting down the tunnel and having to walk the way back up slowly every time I grazed the box, which moved seemingly unpredictably (obviously connected to the colours but hard to track), was frustrating and ultimately led me to calling it quits without figuring out the boss fights puzzle.
Like others, I fail to see any connection to the theme as you don't "count down" colours...
With some more feedback for the player, less back-tracking and maybe even just a sprint button, I can see this game being a lot more fun.
I did play a small section of this during a late night stream but was too tired to solve puzzles so returned today to play again and write the feedback. I hope you can take this constructively as I do really like the concept just think it misses a few notes. It did look nice, especially the shadow following the player, and seemed well put together considering it is a jam game.
Wow great work creating a whole interconnected world puzzle game like that, excellent job teaching the naturally, had a good few aha moments.
Very fun game! It really tested my navigation skill though haha. I also loved the boss fight, it took me a few attempts to understand what was going on, but it's a clever idea
Okay, so, it was hard to figure out what to do on the bossfight. It was also hard to predict where the big box would move on the first move, so maybe a little pause after showing the colors would be good. A sound effect for damaging the boss would be good, as well as for when a switch opens a door (sometimes I pushed a box onto the switch and didn't even realize i'd opened a door)
But that's where my "complaints" end because OH MY GOSH this was fun. Really creative idea, although I'm not sure it fits the theme TOO well, but I can see the vision. I LOVE metroidvanias and this scratched that itch to play one that I haven't gotten yet from this jam. I think visually it was great as well, simplicity is always better for game jam visuals imo because it makes something like this feel entirely polished and complete. I think this has a good potential to be expanded into a longer game after the jam is complete. I'd play it 100%
Thank you I will take note of all of the things you said if/when I make a full game
This was really cool, but I could not stand the boss fight--just way too tough for me, and not quick enough to get back into to warrant dozens of attempts. Apart from that, though, I really enjoyed this game! The art was a particular high-point, and the tool pickups were delightful iterations on your core color-countdown mechanic.
Great game! Worth it to play till the end, by far the best boss battle i've played till now!
not sure if it fits the theme, but good game
found the boss fight, cool puuzzles but still don’t know how to relates to the theme
Love the consept, got stuck at some point after getting a second petal though, it seemed the only path that I could take was by moving a box through a secret tunnel between two rooms, but as soon as it would get in the tunnel, the box would stop moving
you don't move a box through the tunnel but the tunnel allows you to move the box already in the same room
I don't know how this fits the theme but I had fun playing it :>
