The art is absolutely adorable, and it's refreshing to see this kind of cute and whimsical style as a contrast to the mostly grittier entries in the jam. I did find the layout a little bit hard to follow though, with the monster stats on the first page tucked into a corner while they're in the middle of the second page, both without a header.
It's very cool that you've managed to fit a small push your luck minigame and a puzzle in here too.
Wacky is the absolute fitting title! I haven't heard of knave 2e but seeing this content and the art I love this work!
Delightfully whimsical adventure! The art is absolutely phenomenal, and I particularly love the spaceship map. I don’t think I understand the puzzle, though. I’m in my third read, and not sure if I get exactly what the challenge is or how the complications described affect it.
Very “N” and beautifully illustrated and designed. You managed to pack multiple mechanisms into a small amount of space but it’s all gameable. Love the zaniness too.
Puzzle may be too hard for some parties is my only concern. I love the image of the party moving the desks all over while Evelyne stresses if they shift anything on the desk.
Well done.
Great premise, lovely art & maps.
Love the mini games, like mentioned this really gives it a point & click adventure vibe.
I love the art and the images and the adventure. What a delightful world to step into!
Lots of positive feedback here already I very much agree with, but I want to especially highlight the minigames you've added in very few words that are still clear and interesting. Amazing work!
i teared up reading this. the amount of joy and wonder this filled me with-- it's like being a kid again and playing point-and-click adventures on the home computer. i cannot express enough how much this entry affected me with its art, writing, and charm. that's honestly the best word for it: charm. excellent work!!
edit: i forgot to mention the choice of New Rocker for the headings. it's a personal favorite of mine and it fits this perfectly
This one gives a deceptable cozy vibe: The art and the theme are whimsical, the almighty cloud giant is a sheep farmer, the aliens aren’t hostile per se.
And then rams start pushing you of the clouds and a harsh push-your-luck mechanic sets in :-D
This looks like a approachable, easy-to-run game. And because of it’s whimsy one could dial down the deadliness and have the kids have a gos.
I like the layout, especially the back page is nicely divided seperates the topics well.
To be honest I don’t get the First Contact Puzzle. How exactly are we supposed to run this ans know the solution?
The intended solution is provided at the end of the puzzle description; each desk should be a particular distance away from the center based on the delay + the natural resonance of the material. Ultimately this puzzle is simply an alternate path to reach cloud areas for clever players, but it's not a critical aspect of the scenario. Thank you for your feedback.
I read the solution. But how to come by it?
This adventure is amazing. It's really difficult to achieve what you've done in such a limited format: a point crawl, a dungeon crawl, AND a puzzle, all in one pamphlet! And to do it with such an interesting and fun theme and excellent artwork. It's a great piece of work, one of my favorites.
Gorgeous illustrations and charmingly silly science-fantasy whose tone fits perfectly with Knave as its chosen system. LOVE LOVE LOVE the thunder rams
Colors and layout are exquisite! Tons of interactive bits in every location for players to fiddle around with. Great mix of whimsical scifi and fantasy.
There is a lot jammed in here and all of it seems like it would be a blast to discover. Trying to think of all the players who’ve made a conspiracy theory Fox Mulder type character just begging for some good ol alien content like this.
Love the colors, art and layout.
Excellent use of theme. Wonderful design, layout, and information presentation. Charming art. I love this. Great, wholesome science fantasy. Well-rounded adventure.
Great work here.
Most excellent. Packed with stuff and that artwork is banging. Love the aliens pew pew pew
Absolutely charming. The great art sets the tone perfectly and I love the idea of the chill giant making the most of his lucky break. No one is really the villain here, they're all just doing their best and I wish them all well. Really keen to run this - it feels really playable and I think it would be really fun to see how the scenario plays out.
A phenomenal entry brimming with possibility. The art, layout, and writing are all spot on and table ready. It’s so fun! Definitely on my “to run” list.
Lovely visuals, tight layout, and a really cool puzzle as well. Those are always tricky!
