Summarize your game!
In the criminal underbelly of the city, the Rogue’s Guild doesn't settle internal disputes, territory wars, or leadership promotions with messy street brawls. Bloodshed draws guards; instead, they play The Gambit — a lethal game of dice that demands intelligence, flawless planning, and extreme sleight of hand.
You play as a fresh, low-level initiate with nothing but a pocketful of basic dice and a dream to climb the criminal hierarchy to become the ultimate Guild Master. To rise through the ranks, you must challenge rival block captains, cheat your way through crooked backroom tables, and manage your crew of dice.
You have your dice crew, go fight through the stages, earn, heal, upgrade and sacrifce them to accumalate enough might to finish the final boss.
Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You can sacrifice die to get points for upgrading others or heal them. If you have enough points, you can even try the chaos forge!
Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

Quite fun already!
The game could do with an indication on enemy health bars how much damage the queued up attacks will do. Right now the player has to calculate in their head if they will defeat the target this turn and can start queuing attacks on a different target.
The theme interpretation is creative, but it unfortunately results in the player being disappointed that they don't get rewarded for playing their turn well and avoiding taking damage.
Great interpretation of the theme - Only gaining upgrades when your party has lost health and sacrificing dice to get upgrade points.
Graphics and gameplay are great, really enjoyed playing. The music does tend to fatigue after a little while, but I appreciated having the ability to change the volumes in settings. Tutorial pop-ups were informative and the ability to dismiss them or have them pop up each time is helpful
Only thing is there's nothing that "Completes" a run, you just end up in limbo until you go to the main menu and abandon the run.
Overall really enjoyed though!
you have to fight three stages to complete the run, each gets incrementally harder, better dice, more upgrades
I've run the game again, and looks like I missed that the stage had rolled over! Perhaps a notification that you've progressed to the next stage would be helpful (assuming I didn't also miss that somehow too!)
The difficulty level when any of the attackers have poison really ramps up- I lost 3 die to poison alone on easiest difficulty, before the boss. However, skill issue aside, this game is really well made! I played for way longer than i was expecting. Rated well!
I felt like I was playing a prototype for that one crazy board game that Fin and Jake the Dog play in the one episode of adventure time! I enjoyed playing and the music kept me around. The learning curve was a little tough but after a few trys I got it. There was lot of choice from the multiply unit choice, to the amount of quick decisions made to select the proper dice when you attack . The game could use a little more Juice and interactivity in the buttons in the prefight and when the fights happening. Also, i didnt know where to click to make the game progress. It's int he Bottom Right corer says "Fight" right on it... I didnt see it for like 3 mins. Good game - Nice long Campaign. Music made it worth sticking around for me and the GDD is Incredible. Good Job on the game Cheers
🤔 i get a black screen when i click play - me issue?
HI, you are the second person to report a black screen upon launch (besides many without issues..), maybe you can try another browser Or enter the Console of your Browser and check if there is some error? You can show the web developer tools normally with F12 key or with the combination of command-option-i or ctrl-option-i.
I get this message in my console:
No available adapters. dice.js?v=d83e24c-1656:285 GPU-Init (Web/Canvas) fehlgeschlagen: kein wgpu-Adapter (Web/Canvas): No suitable graphics adapter found; noop support not compiled in, vulkan support not compiled in, metal support not compiled in, dx12 support not compiled in, gl support not compiled in, webgpu not requested
Many thanks for the Reply! I have found the core issue: some Browsers doe not provide a webgpu. Its fixed for further releases, however this jam Im not allowed to update as it seems.. Maybe you can try another Browser? Wie tested primarily in Chrome on Mac+Win11+Linux and several other browsers
