The darkest scenario so far, at least for me. It's disturbing, and this is great if you like to play at being disturbed. It's not easy to convey such a load of eerie, unnamed emotion in a ttrpg scenario. Love this!

Thank you!

Very haunting, disquieting module, I like it very much. Alzabo is horrible, love him.

Some of the links between places are a bit confusing - 2. leads to "the island at 6" but 6 is described as a cave rather than an island - and I was a bit thrown by the statement that the route between 4 and 5 is barred, as there isn't an alternative that connects 3 and 4 to the other areas (except leaving and using the other entrance) - does this just mean some effort is required to traverse it, rather than it being completely insurmountable?

Big fan of Myths that change the Realm’s terrain in permanent ways, as well as the idea of being encouraged to kill a Seer- hate those guys! lol

I would like to see a sequel, or expansion, that goes on to explain how Knights might go about reversing the effects of The Verse, or at least curing those afflicted.

Thanks a bunch!

I love the concept! I love the permanent and distinct change to the realm. This will be super fun to bring into any game.

My only question is the intent of the Malign Swamp. It doesn't appear to be directly part of the myth so my guess would be for just use as a site in the game? I don't think it's something that needs to be explicitly said, but it is something I'm second guessing as a Referee as to the best way to use it.

I think I absolutely glossed over that the Malign Swamp is intended as a suggestion for the Myth’s home hex - good catch! I’ll clear that up in a follow-up edit.

Love to see new Mythic Bastionland myths, especially one with a fantastic opening poem! I also really like the writing down the page margins, they draw me into themes of the Verse. The inclusion of the tulpa and alzabo is really cool!

The Malign Swamp may have a typo in “Whenever a Knight makes a Save at this location, they roll 2d20, and take the lower of the two results.” Is it possible this was meant to say “greater”, to increase the probability that saves are failed?

Ah, you’re absolutely right! Thank you!

I think here we have an Annihilation Authority Acceptance enjoyer, and I find this to be a really great way to bring the endless scrawling of the Crawler of the Tower (or is a Tunnel?) into an RPG campaign.

I salute that this module makes heavy reference to hex maps, but itself describes activity which could happen on any hex map. That is, the territory and events are not a *new and hidden part of the campaign world* but are instead overlayed atop it. This is good thought technology.

I like that the malign hex mechanic is referenced in the Omens and other sections as the inherent origin of some of the omens - it reinforces the relatedness of the phenomena, and also lets the DM be flexible/adaptive to the hexagonal regions of their own campaign.

I love a diagrammatic map for a Myth Site!

"Self-drowned" is an amazing adjective (Omens 02).

Thanks very much!

Really fun concept; particularly like how the Malign Hexes will change the Realm during play. And I always love to see a fellow Book of the New Sun liker!
