I really liked this one, but did not pull through because I had two runs back-to-back die pretty far in because I hit Q instead of A jumping over water into the level boundary. That’s objectively my fault, no doubt, but it’s way too punishing, considering there's no variance in the earlier levels beyond knowing mechanics/knowing what's an item and what isn't/familiarity. I was fine running it back the first time when I mismanaged my items and energy, but it's truly not fun when I have to do it because of a misinput.

I lead with the negative because the only other issues I have with this game is that I don't think idling should exist like, at all, and of course having to refresh to restart is a little silly. I genuinely adore everything else and wish I had the time to finish it because I was just having so much fun with it. It feels like a game that would've made waves 40 years ago, and even now I can't say there's anything like it that I know of. I will absolutely finish this off once voting ends, great job!!

First off, just going by the intro cutscene, the writing is incredible, and the idea of a flower that is essentially nepenthe, and the clever name, forget-me being a play on forget-me-not. I love that shit.

Why on God's green earth, though, would you bind any key but 'S' to 'move down' if W is move up, D is move right, and a is move left. Every single time I touch the keyboard I'm fighting the muscle memory of 255 other computer games controlled by WASD that I've played. X should be idle. S should be down. Or just give the player the ability to rebind controls. But if I wasn't constantly idling when I meant to move one tile down because of this weird control setup, I would have enjoyed this exponentially more...and I already enjoyed it a lot!

Now, as for the game itself, it feels completely unique. It is a traversal-based puzzle roguelike, and I've never played a game of that description before. If Death Stranding were (well, infinitely less pretentious, and developed for the Commodore64) a roguelike, it would be this. There is plenty of room for improvement, and the thing I missed the most was music! Some nice crunchy 8-bit chiptune sounds would be absolutely perfect for this. I loved the Shadowgate meets roguelike aesthetic of everything. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I wanted to get a rating in before the window closed.

Cool Game!! really reminds me of old computer system games (like commodore64) and also dialouges which is a great attention to detail of the story! overall pretty underated RPG game.

The game is really fun. You should just quickly plug in so walking, pick up, SFX, and some nice background music Alexander Nakarada does beautiful background music and FreeSound.org is excellent for SFX

Shadowy Den is actually quite fun. The skull on the death screen scared me at least once. I would love it if there was a sound effect when the character dies, and a pause before transitioning to the death screen. The control scheme greatly upset me at first, but I got used to it and made it through some of the rooms in the aforementioned Shadowy Den. I was surprised by how many rooms / levels there are! It was a lot of fun to manage my energy level while climbing walls and swimming through rivers. I was much more worried about my energy than HP. And yeah, the controls screen showing a block of 9 keys scared me worse than skull did, but I like how it's different and cool.

Very old school but really fun puzzle game, But the control scheme needs some work and there needs to be some sound effects and background music, but still really fun

The art and concept are so so cool and the story's very intriguing, but unfortunately I found the control scheme wildly frustrating and had to stop at the fourth level for the sake of my sanity. Some suggestions to retain diagonal movement while not turning off players who don't want to relearn how to move using a keyboard: hold a key to make the game wait for two movement inputs (WA, WD, and so on), or, since you're already using the mouse in the control scheme, just let players click on the tile to move there. Really hope you keep working on this one, because again it's so cool and I would love to be able to play more of it!
